WE’RE IN THE PERPETUAL CANOPY BUSINESS

Page 2: SMART GROW TECH DECK

Our Mission Smart Grow Technologies is in the Perpetual Canopy Business

per·pet·u·al -- Occurring repeatedly; so frequent as to seem endless and uninterrupted.

Smart Grow Technologies' mission is to drive all waste out of growing operations. We are starting with ultra efficient lighting, digital controls and consulting services to provide commercial and individual growers the resources and knowledge base to succeed.

Vertical Farms Expand indoor vertical farms canopy size 4-5 X

without expanding floor space.

Nano Environments Use minimal resources for maximum results.

Page 3: SMART GROW TECH DECK

Three HUGE problems have blocked the uptake of LED Grow Lights

Insufficient Yields Professional cannabis growers were unable to consistently hit 1.5 plus pounds of dry weight for each 4x4

canopy grid.

Price Even though top LED grow lights

including Smart Grow were coming close to 1.5 plus pounds of dry

weight, the total cost remained too expensive to justify the switch.

Plant Count Laws Under plant count laws for medical cannabis grows, the grower has no choice but to grow larger plants to

maximize yields. High Pressure Sodium lights advantage was canopy

penetration.

Growers Are Scrambling As Market Conditions Change In March of 2016 the state of Washington had a sudden surplus of cannabis supply which drove the price down under $1.000 per pound for indoor top shelf. This sudden shift in price had many professional farmers using traditional grow methods scrambling. Being competitive on price per pound is critical to survive market shifts.

Our Solution

Smart Grow RZR 600 XP™ is the first LED grow light designed for

both vertical farming using racking to stack canopy and maximize floor space aka “Sea of Green” as well as powerful enough to penetrate canopy of larger plants with photons that are grown in horizontal rows aka “Screen of Green”.

Golden Glow™ Spectrum The RZR Series proprietary photon rich golden base mix is ideal for taking plants from start to harvest under one light spectrum.

Page 6: SMART GROW TECH DECK

Problem Solved Smart Grow™ Vertical RAX Systems

Designed for both Vertical and Horizontal applications the Smart Grow RZR 600 is producing 3-4 pounds in a 4’ x 4’ area when using racking and sea of green growing methods. The wholesale price is now under $1,000 per light and is proven to be a sweet spot for commercial growers, especially with certification for commercial use. As environmental factors and energy efficiency become more critical to water supply and energy grids more states are turning to canopy square footage cannabis laws rather than plant count cannabis laws.

Screen of Green Technique Screen of Green Horizontal Rows Coverage options when designing a “Screen of Green”. Start with a 4 foot wide row. The RZR 600 XP is 48 inches wide so when covering a 4’ row of plants you just manage your gaps. Example: For professional coverage down a row of twelve 4’ x 4’ grids use 8-10 inch gaps between 16-17 lights.

Strength in PAR Numbers Reduce Hot Spots With Even Light Dispersion

Crank up the micromole levels by grouping RZR 600 LED grow lights together in 4 foot width rows. The sweet spot for planning is a 4‘ x 8’ canopy grid. Manage your gaps between lights down each row to maximize your coverage/cost goals. PAR maps below show two 4’ x 8’ commercial canopy grids options.

Smart Grow Golden Glow™ spectrum mimics the Sun’s natural PAR light. Cradle to grave PAR spectrum base mix is perfect for cloning, vegetative and flowering application and possess powerful photon energy per watt to ensure canopy penetration. By eliminating the purple/ magenta 660nm red light chips which were harmful for cloning and early veg. as well as some strains during flower, our new Golden Glow spectrum promotes healthy plant growth throughout the entire grow cycle.

Plant Lighting Metrics PAR Light – Photosynthetically Active Radiation Light between 400 and 700 angstroms (nanometers, 10^-8 meters)

Measuring PAR – Photosynthetic Photon Flux (PPF) Measured as micro-moles (µ, or 10^-6) )of photons emitted per second One Mole = 6.02 * 10^23 (Avagadro’s Constant)

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) Micro-moles of photons emitted per square meter per second Way more important to growers than PPF

An HID light might have huge PPF numbers at the bulb, but inverse square law of light means that the number of photons hitting a given area (PPFD) declines exponentially as the distance between the light source and the plant surface increases. “At 2’ from canopy the photons drop in half” An .5 milliamps 120 degree spray LED light emits very intense photon coverage at close distances without photo bleach but don’t try this with high powered COB 2-3 watt LED chips.

Daily Light Integral (DLI) DLI = PPFD over the course of a light cycle. Measured as Moles of PAR photons per day Example: a light emitting PPFD = 1000 running 12 hours emits a DLI = 43.2 moles/day

Computed as ((60 sec/min)*(60 min/hr)*(12 hrs/day)*(PPFD))/1 million Current research indicates Cannabis grows best at PPFD = 1500 (DLI = 65) and temperature = 30 C

Lighting Efficiency = PPFD/joule or PPFD/input watt Measure of how well a light converts electrons to photons Lights requiring supplemental AC or cooling fans will have very low numbers Can also look at both purchase price per PPFD and five year cost per PPFD

How to Play Games With The Numbers •Report PPF (photons emitted by the bulb) rather than PPFD (photons hitting the plant) •Lights that emit intense PPF over a small area •Put reflective walls around the light to reflect the light back into the measurement area •Reporting overall PPFD for only a small portion of the growing area (Hot Spot) •Using inconsistent grid sizes

DLI Dimming Smart Controls Drop Down, Dim Down

COVERAGE - Fixture size matters when it comes to evenly dosing photons over the canopy at close range using efficient power per dose usage. Less wattage is used for each daily photon dose when the Smart Grow RZR LED technology is placed CLOSE to the canopy.

RZR XP features a 48” long frame loaded with 1920 total LED chips. This combination provides an even thumbprint of light which enables growers to drop lights down 3-5 inches from above the canopy. As long as the dimming is dialed in the plants will thrive without any harmful effects.

GOLDEN GLOW ™ Spectrum at 3-4 inches above canopy running 1500 micromoles produces healthy canopy with No Photo Bleach Effects.

Dial in target micromole levels with Smart Grow DLI Controller. Use Daily Light Integral (DLI) Dimming to manage daily dose of photons.

Sea of Green Cycle Time CANOPY does not have to be TALL to be FRUITFUL Sea of Green cycle times DOUBLE yearly harvest yield numbers. Numbers to consider…

Growing 256 single shoot tops i.e. Platinum Girl Scout Cookie in a 7-8 week complete cycle time you can expect to harvest (256) seven gram tops. This comes out to 4 pounds per 4 x 4 area while using far less resources and labor.

7 grams in 7-8 weeks

Helpful Hints: When selecting the right strains for your “Sea of Green” canopy layout be sure to calculate the room needed between plants. This will dictate how many plants to use.

Depending on strain types here are (2) plant count options for a 4 x 4 tray to consider:

#1 If you use a strain that is more spindly i.e. a single shoot Girl Scout Cookies… you can push your plant count numbers upwards to 256.

#2 If you decide to use a strain that swells i.e. Blue Dream then lower your plant count numbers to around 120 to avoid over crowding.
