The separation between the dual-port antennas at the same location needs to be sufficient to provide at least 40dB of
isolation between the TX and RX ports of the same remote unit. The integrated isolation in a dual port omni antenna
such as the Kathrein 80010709 will provide > 30dB isolation between V and H polarizations. At 2.6GHz, physical
separation would need to be in the order of 2M to achieve 40dB isolation.

Customer profile includes:
• Willing to self-fund
• Wireless is business critical
• Have managed enterprise WiFi
• Uses ‘professional’ IT services
• Too small for Operator ROI
Some examples:
• Finance & law offices
• Educational institutions
• Medium size companies
• Fortune-1000 ‘satellite offices’
• MDUs & ‘green buildings’
* Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey 2012, US Energy Information Agency
Market is around 200K buildings and 30% of the commercial floorspace in U.S.
The Small Building Market Size
The Wireless World IndoorsThe Wireless World Indoors 9 9CONFIDENTIAL
• Large market need identified for SME locations lacking coverage but requiring low capacity – 2,500 to 10,000 m² but 30 – 50 m² per user.
• Insufficient traffic to attract a full IBS with Macro-/Micro-cell due to costs involved (BTS, E1 backhaul) vs. potential revenue
• In most cases a single Small Cell solution does not provide enough coverage
• However multiple Small Cells results in over –capacity and high cost and potentially complex installations (timing, handover, synchronisation)
• Multiple systems for each MNO or for each technology replicates infrastructure costs, construction disruption, and unsightly antennas
• Zinwave’s Wideband DAS plus Small Cells fills that gap
Market Need
The Wireless World IndoorsThe Wireless World Indoors 10 10CONFIDENTIAL
• DAS plus Small Cell Architecture decouples capacity and coverage
• DAS provides flexible lowest cost coverage
• Small Cells required only for aggregate capacity
• Significant cost saving
• DAS wiring provides a “Neutral Host” environment for Small Cells
• Multiple Technologies – 2G GSM, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE
• Multi - operator solution for coverage
• No wiring changes for additions bands/channels
• Upgradeable to Micro-cells without rewiring
• Fibre based solution minimises building disruption
• DAS provides superior RF coverage
• Multicast and overlapped cells provide seamless coverage
• No handover requirements between Small Cells
• No Inter-cell interference
Why DAS ?
The Wireless World IndoorsThe Wireless World Indoors 11 11CONFIDENTIAL
Wideband Architecture supports full Small Cell frequency capability
• Cellular & WiFi
• Capacity for all operators and multiple bands
• Multi – frequency ( 150MHz to 2.7GHz)
• Multi – protocol – FDD & TDD
• Improved Upgrade Capability
• “Neutral Host” on electronics as well as wiring
• Sectorization capability by software settings only (4 sectors max)
• Unique DAS ability to support “Network Listen”
• DAS can transmit and receive on the base station downlink frequencies simultaneously, because of wideband architecture.
• Supports Hand-out and Hand-in to the Macro
• Supports Frequency Co-ordination with Macro

Zinwave and Small Cells
Recent Activity in UK
The Wireless World IndoorsThe Wireless World Indoors 15 15CONFIDENTIAL
•Small Cell “Proof of Concept” – 3 UK operators involved• Vodafone, O2, EE
•Premises located in a business park in a low lying part of the town with very poor existing coverage
•Two floor premises of mixed office, storage and light electronics production.
• Approximately 60 employees with corporate and personal devices – typical UK business
•Corporate VF customer. Too small (£) for full BTS, too large in area for single Small Cell, multiple operators required
Proof of concept
The Wireless World IndoorsThe Wireless World Indoors 16 16CONFIDENTIAL
• Surveys carried out and design formalised in one day
• One Zinwave Primary Hub plus 3 RUs
• Using existing internet backhaul, installed in existing IT Room
• Firewall reconfigured with DAS/Small Cells in DMZ
• No impact on mission critical connections
• One small cell per MNO for whole building
• One day install and setup
Quick to design and deploy

Transitional Coverage
•World HQ• West of Edinburgh
• Park setting with poor existing coverage
• Full IBS required when building refurbished and reoccupied
• launch requirements only an “incubator” unit prior to DAS completion
•Objective• Provide coverage for 02 & EE at opening without major rewiring at later date
• Minimize cost at start-up where only small capacity required
•Expected Outcome• DAS installation phased with Small Cells used for capacity in phase 1 with coverage
provided for incubator only. Higher capacity BTS’s and new backhaul deferred to Phase 2. Small cells to be redeployed elsewhere after transition
• Methodology to become standard for transitional deployments – better customer service at an affordable cost.
