SM Series Compact Magmeter
Flow sensing technology
Accurate • Reliable • Great value
up to 160 gpm1/2” to 2” pipe sizes
Continuous monitoring of conductive media
ifm’s SM Series Magmeter isdesigned to reliably detectthe flow rate of conductivemedia up to 160 gallons perminute.
The stainless steel, mechani-cally-robust design mountsdirectly in-line providing acompact, low-profile instal-lation for process control.
A 4-digit numeric displaywith pushbutton setupsimultaneously indicatesflow rate, fluid temperatureand total volume.
Simple to setup and easy toinstall, the SM is a reliablealternative to traditionalflow meters and mechanicalflow switches.
ifm’s SM is the new bench-mark for price / performancefor your flow sensing applications. Monitors all conductive
media up to 160 gallonsper minute.
Compact, in-line stainlesssteel housing fits up to 2” pipe diameter.
4-digit numeric displayindicates flow rate, totalvolume and temperature.
Simple pushbutton setupallows outputs to be parameterized in less than 5 minutes.
Adapter system simplifiesinstallation.
Quick disconnect wiringfor plug-and-play connection.

Magnetic-inductive flowtechnology provides high-precision measurement
The SM Series FlowMeter’s principle of opera-tion is based on Faraday’slaw of electromagneticinduction. The conductivemedium flowing througha pipe in a magnetic field generates a voltage that isproportional to the flowvelocity or volumetricflow quantity.
The SM Magmeter is used ininduction hardening applicationsand features high accuracy witha response time of less than 0.15 seconds and a repeatabilityof ± 0.2%.
