They then do it to receive aperishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore Irun in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way,as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and makeit my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myselfwill not be disqualified.”

“The judgment seat of Christ might be compared to acommencement ceremony. At graduation there is somemeasure of disappointment and remorse that one did notdo better and work harder. However, at such an event theoverwhelming emotion is joy, not remorse. The graduatesdo not leave the auditorium weeping because they did notearn better grades. Rather, they are thankful that they havebeen graduated, and they are grateful for what they didachieve. To overdo the sorrow aspect of the judgment seatof Christ is to make heaven hell. To under do the sorrowaspect is to make faithfulness inconsequential”(underlining mine).

3. Who?
2 Cor 5:10- For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Rom. 14:10-But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
Rom. 14:12- So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.
4. Why?
John 19:30-Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
John 5:24-Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
1 Cor. 3:15- If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
1 John 2:28-Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not [j]shrink away from Him in shame [k]at His coming.
2 John 8-Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.

Rev 4:10-11-the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they [f]existed, and were created.”
John 12:3-Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
Luke 7:47-For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.
5. What?
1 Cor 9:24-27-Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
1 Cor. 4:2-In this case, moreover, it is required [a]of stewards that one be found trustworthy.
1 Cor 3:10-15-According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another
is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
6. How?
Rom. 14:12- So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.
1 Cor. 4:5-Therefore do not go on [c]passing judgment before [d]the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
1 Cor 4:2-In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.
1 Cor. 4:5-Therefore do not go on [c]passing judgment before [d]the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
John 12:3-6- Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to [b]betray Him, *said, 5 “Why was this perfume not sold for [c]three hundred denarii and given to poor people?” 6 Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.
Philip. 1:15-17-15 Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will; 16 the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; 17 the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause me distress in my imprisonment.
1 Sam. 16:7- But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for [b]God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Prov. 4:23-Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life (NKJV).
John 15:5-6-I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown
away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
