PTA REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST “WHAT IS YOUR STORY?” ENTRY DEADLINE IS THIS THURSDAY – OCTOBER 13th. Create an original work of art in one, two, or even all of the following categories – visual art, photography, music composition, literature, film production and/or dance choreography based upon the theme “What Is Your Story?” The deadline for entries is this Thursday – October 13th at Sycamore. Entries will be judged and may have an opportunity to continue thru the judging process of PTA’s Council, District, State and Regionals with prizes and scholarships along the way. If you are interested in participating and didn’t receive a form, please contact PTA Reflections Chairperson Diana Aschenbach at dianabeyers@sbcglobal.net.              

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL – Our annual Cheesecake/ cookie dough fundraiser, which is run by our school, is in progress. Please note this is NOT a fundraiser put on by the PTA. Sycamore will use funds raised by this fundraiser to directly buy things that we need for our school and our classrooms, including educational supplies, technological supplies, and things for our school grounds. This is an optional fundraiser, and I do not want anyone to feel pressured to participate. However, there are many families who enjoy buying and selling these items, which will be delivered right before the Thanksgiving holiday. The information packets went home last week with your child. The deadline for orders is next Monday, October 17th.

Our beloved annual PTA Harvest Carnival is coming up quick!!! Discount tickets and Boo Grams will be on sale next week after school – specific dates to be announced soon! Here are a few other items to note:

BOO GRAMS – Send a Boo Gram to a friend, teacher or favorite staff member. They are only $1.00 each. Order forms will be sent home this Thursday 10/13. Additional order forms/sales will be available after school by the MPR next Wednesday 10/19. BAKE SALE – Bake Sale goodies are needed for the Harvest Carnival. Home made treats and store bought morsels are always a crowd pleaser and we welcome any and all donations to our PTA Bake Sale. To donate your amazing creations, please make sure they are individually wrapped and ready to sell. Please drop them off any time during school hours on Friday, October 21st or at the Bake Sale booth during the carnival. If you would like to make other arrangements to drop off, please just let us know and we are happy to do our best to accommodate.
