As number of opportunities are available for Civil Engineers in Public Services nowadays, only students have to be guided properly for the preparation of such exams; so to motivate our students for such preparations and learn from success stories of persons who successfully ac-quired such goals, we at department of civil engineering had organized an Guest Lecture of Er. Pravin Kolhe, who is currently working as Executive Engineer, Water Resources Depart-ment, Govt. of Maharashtra. Pune division.

With full enthusiasm Departmental Stu-dent’s Association “CESA” organized an Expert Lecture of Er. Pravin Kolhe on “Opportunities for Civil Engineers in Competitive exams” on 3rd January 2017. This function was presided by Hon. Principal Dr. K. J. Karande, in presence of Prof. C. P. Pise, Head, Department of Civil Engineering.

The purpose of this lecture was to give idea about preparations for MPSC exams and

opportunities in public services to the students. They would get benefited to understand the bene-fits from experts personal experiences.

The function was started with felicitation of Speaker and Guest Er. Pravin Kolhe by Hon. Prin-cipal Dr. K. J. Karande sir in Presence of Dr. C. P. Pise (Head, Department of Civil Engineering) and Mr. Shantanu More, President, CESA.

Followed by this Er. Pravin Kolhe sir shared his overall journey and experiences to be success-ful in competitive exams. He also appreciated the organizing committee for their keen involvement in such a most excellent program under CESA. He also emphasized on benefits of students participa-tion in such events.

The function was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Shantanu More. The lots of efforts was taken by all CESA committee members and students for successful accomplishment of this program.

During academic programme many

students faces stress, so to overcome such

situations Shaj Yog is a good way to get re-

lief from such stress. We are fortunate

enough that an eminent personality Mr. Vi-

jay Nalgirkar had visited our department on

3rd January 2017. Mr. Vijay Nalgirkar had

a wide work experience he had worked as

Director of Engineers India Ltd. Delhi

(Engineering division) also he was Senior

Vice President at Reliance Industries, cur-

rently in he is associated with Sahaj yog

Foundation.

Prof. C. P. Pise (HOD, Department of

Civil Engineering) had welcomed Guest Mr.

partment had organized a Five Days Workshop on Auto-

CAD from 26th January 2017 to 30th January 2017 in as-

sociation with CADD Centre, Pandharpur, which is a

leading training organization in this field.

Dr. C. P. Pise (Head, Department of Civil Engi-

neering) has felicitated Mr. Amar Pawar, Centre Head,

CADD Centre Pandharpur.. Students from SE, TE and BE

participated in this workshop. All the students expressed

FIVE DAY WORKSHOP ON ‘AUTOCAD’ & ‘STAAD PRO’ Drawing is a language of engineering, and in present era

an engineer must have a knowledge of a CAD software because

almost in all Civil Engineering fields uses CAD software for dif-

ferent purposes. Placements of Civil Engineering graduates are

done not only on the basis of technical knowledge of students, but

also on their computer skills and techniques to advanced soft-

ware’s in field of Civil Engineering.

It is in this perspective; SKN Sinhgad College of Engi-

neering has introduced a number of innovative programs to create

awareness in students about career opportunities that are emerging

and to equip them suitably to succeed in competition for securing

the best jobs. AutoCAD is one of the advanced CAD tools

used in the industry for drawing different engineering drawings.

SKN Sinhgad College of Engineering has introduced a

number of innovative programs to create awareness in students

about career opportunities that are emerging and to equip them suit-

ably to succeed in competition for securing the best jobs. To pro-

vide all this required knowledge the department had organized a

Five Day Workshop on Staad Pro from 2nd January 2017 to 6th Janu-

ary 2017 Prof. M. B. Shinde & Prof. D. S. Jagtap are the trainers for

this workshop from Department of Civil Engineering, SKNSCOE.

51 Students from Third year (TE) participated in this workshop. All

the students expressed their thankfulness to the organisers.

Prof. C. P. Pise (HOD, Department of Civil Engineering)

has addressed to the students regarding importance of Software's

Knowledge in their Career in Civil Engineering. He also appreciat-

ed the organizing committee for their keen involvement in such a

most excellent programme under CESA.

As we celebrate birth anniversary of Swami Vive-

kananda as National Youth Day, hence on occasion of this Civil Engineering Students Association “CESA” had organ-ised a Guest lecture on 12th January 2017 at Department with First year Department.

The programme was started by Lamp lightening, Pratima poojan of Swami Vivekananda. Followed by felici-tation of Mr. Patrawale by auspisious hands of Hon. Princi-pal Dr. K.. J. Karande in presence of Dr. C. P. Pise, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Prof. A. I. Nikam , Head, Department of General Science.
