The skin is anatomical and physiological specialized system cover the body which is essential to life .The skin has function which is :• Protection ( mechanical , from dehydration )• Sensation• Heat regulation ( sweating )• Immunological

The skin divided into two distinct :

1. The superficial part ( epidermis ) :

Epithelial cells form in the deepest layer and become flatten and hardened as they mature and migrate superficially .

2. The deep part ( dermis ) :

The dermis ( lamina proporia ) is composed of connective tissue , blood vessels , lymphatic vessels , nerves , and cells associated with the immune system .It support the epidermis .

Mucosa :Moist lining such as those of mouth , gastrointestinal, and upper respiratory track are lined by mucosa or mucous membrane .The term refers to the epithelium and its supporting lamina propira.Submucosa > connects mucosa to underlying structures.

Skin

Fascia :Superficial fascia ( subcutaneous tissue ) connect the dermis to underlying structures .It comprises loose connective tissue and fat.In it are found the blood vessels , lymphatic, and cutaneous nerves running to the dermis .Deep fascia > not associated with the skin.
