WHY WE’RE WHY WE’RE WHY WE’RE HEREHEREHERE The YMCA has been active in youth camping here in New Zealand for over 75 years. We have 6 camps

around the country with skill and experience in kids holiday camps.

The YMCA offers camps based on our four ‘Core Values’ of Honesty, Responsibility, Caring and Respect.

We aim to develop the Mind, Body and Spirit, by providing new knowledge, healthy activity, good food,

and greater understanding of ourselves and others.

We have camperships available to financially assist your child attending camp, if you would like to apply

for a scholarship, please contact the camp office. The campership fund is supported by donations, if you

would like to donate to the fund, please let us know.

YMCA Greater Wellington not only has great holiday camps on offer, we also offer day

programmes and after school care region wide, a fitness and indoor sports centre in Upper Hutt,

accommodation at Pilmuir House in Lower Hutt as well as Youth and adult education in Wellington and

the Wairarapa

What if the weather is too bad for skiing?

The great advantage of having the lodge on the mountain, and being on the Tukino side, is that if the weather isn’t great, we can:

• Play in the lodge

• Go snow caving with the guides on the mountain

• Wait until it gets fine– they’ll turn on the lifts as soon as it’s nice enough, even if it’s not until 3pm!
