Environment & Forests and Central Ground Water Authority shall be obtained, for which a detailed hydrological study shall be carried out. SITE STATUS:

The Project was done detailed study on hydrology and hydro-geological aspect of the area through an expert agency, as per study report the mines water table is exist at 478 aMSL. However, present mine operation is at 530 aMSL at the bottom most pit of the ML area in line with approved mines scheme and there is no proposal for below 520 aMSL in approved mining scheme, which is valid up to financial year 2018-2019. In case of intersection in future, the project will abide the said condition and will get prior approval from MoEF & CGWA. SPECIFIC CONDITION – 5 The project proponent shall ensure that no natural watercourse and/or water resources shall be obstructed due to any mining operations. Adequate measures shall be taken for conservation and protection of the seasonal streams, if any emanating from the mine lease area during the course of mining operation. SITE STATUS:

The project is ensuring that no natural water course shall be obstructed for mine operation and which is being controlled by implementation of proper site specific mitigate measures. The detailed implementation to protect the water resources is follow as.

1) SITE SPECIFIC RUNOFF MANAGEMENT:

The mine is naturally hilly terrain and mine operation is varies from 520 aMSL to 710 aMSL, present mine activity at center of the ML area and surrounding area is remains with natural plantation. Consequently during monsoon period the generation of the runoff water is only from active mines pit, which is collected at bottom of the pit through proper drainage pattern. The mines benches were developed with proper slope along with ditches to reach the runoff water at bottom of the pit. So, there is no mine runoff water is discharged directly to outside the mines premises. Photo of the same is given as Photo-1

Except active mine pit the mine operation is inter linked with dumping activity, currently mine is having two numbers of sub-grade dump and one number of O.B dump. These dumps are well protected by proper terracing, adequate slope and ditching. Top surface of the O.B dump has been planted with local species towards control the dump erosion and bottom of the dump has been protected with retention wall to avoid the dump collapse during monsoon. Photo of the same is given as Photo-2.

Generation of runoff water from mines allied activity such as haul roads, mineral stock piles, and materials processing area is being collected in check dams and check weirs were provided in all desired area. The check dams capacity and civil design is developed with consideration of rain fall data. Details check dams and check weirs is follows as table no.-1. Photos of the check dams and check weirs is given as Photo-3. 2) NALLA PROTECTIONS: The project has carried out various activities in mines surrounding area such as guard wall on both sides of the nallah (total length –1100 meters) to arrest the natural silt carrying to nallah during monsoon season, Nallah banks are planted with local species to control the soil erosion on the bank of nallah, Adequate number of check dams area provided on nallah towards nallah flow filtrations and regular de-siltation of

the nalla is being carried out before monsoon period. The details of check dam implementation details enclosed as table no. -2. Photo of the Nalla protection measures is given as Photo-4. 3) BUFFER ZONE MITIGATE MEASURES:

The project has developed four numbers of water harvesting ponds to encourage the water percolation and water harvesting in surrounding villages. The ponds are regularly de-silted and well maintained. The detail of the same is given as table-3. Photo of the village ponds is given as Photo-5. SPECIFIC CONDITION – 6 The top soil, if shall temporarily be stored at earmarked site(s) only and should not be kept unutilized for long, the topsoil should be used for land reclamation and plantation. SITE STATUS: Current mining operation is restricted within the already diverted forest area, so there is no generation of top soil during present mining operation. In case of top soil generation occur in the future, it will be stored in an earmarked area and necessary precaution will be taken to preserve its nutrient values of soil, so that it will be used for future land reclamation and raising of plantations. SPECIFIC CONDITION – 7 The project proponent shall not undertake beneficiating of the mineral as part of this project. For understanding beneficiation, necessary prior approval under the provisions of EIA Notification, 2006 shall be obtained. SITE STATUS:

In this regard the Environment clearance has been obtained from Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India vide letter no. J-11015/273/2009-IA.II(M) dated 31.05.2011 for setting up iron ore beneficiation plant capacity of 2.0 MTPA (2 x 185 TPH) and constant to operate also obtained from State Pollution Control Board, Odisha vide consent order no. – 2645, letter no. – 11731/IND-I-CON-6035 dated 26.06.2013. SPECIFIC CONDITION – 8 The over burden (OB) generated during the mining operation shall be temporarily stacked at earmarked dump site(s) only for back filling. Back filling shall commence from the year 2011-2012 onwards. The accumulated waste shall be liquidated by the year 2016 and there shall be no external dump thereafter. The back filled area shall be reclaimed by plantation. Monitoring and management of rehabilitated areas shall continue until vegetation becomes self-sustaining. Compliance status should be submitted to the Ministry of Environment & Forests and its Regional office, Bhubaneswar on six monthly basis. SITE STATUS:

Currently mine is having two numbers of sub-grade dump and one number of O.B dump. These dumps are well protected by proper terracing, adequate slope and ditching. Dump slope surface of the O.B dump has been planted with local species towards control the soil erosion and bottom of the dump has been
