This 5th edition of Unicareers.lu will bring together 150 compa-nies and exhibitors.

The Unicareers.lu fair is an ex-cellent opportunity to meet and interact with potential employers from Luxembourg with the aim to explore job and internship offers matching your skillset.

How to get the most out of the Unicareers.lu Recruitment FairThe Unicareers.lu recruitment fair is a unique opportunity to meet and interact with employers, find out when they are re-cruiting and what they are looking for. Make a strong impression and you could be invited for an interview or, at least, strongly encouraged to apply. Give yourself the best chance of finding your perfect job at Unicareers.lu by following these simple tips…

BEFORE THE RECRUITMENT FAIR

Target your business and professions

Before going to a recruitment fair, make a list of the companies you would like to meet and then ask about:- Its activity, i.e. its flagship pro-ducts or activities, its competi-tive advantages, etc.- The jobs it comprises and which could interest you- Offers already posted on their career site

Prepare an elevator pitch

Once you arrive in front of the recruiter, you will only have a few minutes to talk to him about yourself. Ahead of the recruit-ment fair, prepare a quick eleva-

tor pitch which should include:- Your main professional and as-

sociative experiences- Your academic back-ground- The areas of bu-sinesses you are considering- The compatibi-

lity between you and the company (inte-

rest, skills, experiences that match what they are looking for)

Consider Bringing Your Portfolio

- These portfolios should include copies of your resumes, a list of references, and samples of your best work.- Bring lots of resumes to the re-cruitment fair. If you have mul-tiple interests or job objectives, make sure you bring enough of each version of your resume.

IN THE RECRUITMENT FAIR

Adopt a professional attitude in all circumstances

Dress for Success. You must look polished when you attend the Unicareers.lu event. Howe-ver, do make sure your shoes are comfortable, because you will be standing in line and might be on your feet for several hours!

Pay attention to your presenta-

tion and your attitude, especially in the queue. Recruiters will spot you well before you introduce yourself to them.

If you have prepared your pitch well, the recruiter will certain-ly not have positions to offer that exactly match your profile. Be open to these opportunities, which are often very interesting!

Think about taking notes during the inter-

views

The informa-tion they give you is crucial, either sending an email to the recruiter after the recruitment fair or to prepare you for the interview. Note:- The name, the position and the company of your contact person- The jobs or the offers he/she has talked about- The insights he/she gave you on the tasks, the skills sought, or the recruitment process

Network with Everyone at the Fair

- Building a network with the re-cruiters, ask the representatives for his/her business card- Network with your fellow job-seekers in terms of sharing

information about job leads, companies, and their recruiting strategies and styles- Attend conferences. In addition to get job search advices, you will have more opportunities to network

AFTER THE RECRUITMENT FAIR

You scored points during the recruitment fair,

take advantage of it!

If you have got the recruiter’s business card: quickly send him/her an email with your CV and reiterate your moti-

vation by reminding him/her of where you

met him/her and the various points you raised during the in-terview.

If he/she asked you to apply via the career website: In you cover letter, remember to mention the person you met at the recruitment fair (name and position), and what stroke you in this conversa-tion. Sending an email to the re-cruiter or the employee to whom you spoke during the recruitment fair will not be too much.

Interview checklist

Congratulations, you’ve landed

an interview! Before you go, think about:- Finding out about the company (size, sector, jobs, news) and the recruiter- Gaining good knowledge of the job description- Printing two CVs on paper and ensuring you have pen and paper- Be ready to answer to the ques-tion: “Tell me about yourself” or ”Walk me through your back-ground” Prepare a concise and enthusiastic response. This is also the opportunity to share some in-formation about your extra-cur-ricular activities and transversal skills - Identifying keywords that de-fine your skills and personality- Having concrete examples to illustrate these skills (if possible quantified)- Preparing a list of 2 or 3 ques-tions for the recruiter- Dress appropriately. First im-pressions are important.- Putting your phone on silent.

Qu’entend-on par « talent » chez ING ?

Chez ING Luxembourg, nous ne résumons pas un talent à un cursus scolaire, une école, un diplôme ou encore un parcours professionnel. Un futur talent est un candidat chez qui nous allons sentir du po-tentiel, de la curiosité, de l’envie d’apprendre. Notre politique n’est pas de recruter le meilleur profil sur le curriculum vitae mais le plus prometteur. Il est primordial pour nous de sentir que ce candi-dat ne sera pas cantonné au même poste tout au long de sa carrière chez ING mais qu’il pourra évo-luer et se développer dans d’autres postes, qu’il s’agisse d’une fonc-tion d’expert ou de manager. Ainsi, l’enjeu principal auquel nous sommes confrontés est de trouver les collaborateurs qui sont en adéquation avec nos valeurs et notre stratégie. Nous souhaitons attirer des profils qui n’ont pas forcément un parcours bancaire tout tracé. Nous privilégions la personnalité même si, dans cer-tains cas (des métiers techniques spécifiques par exemple), le di-plôme est un prérequis.

Quels sont les attentes particulières ?

L’esprit d’entreprise et d’équipe, l’ouverture à l’innovation, la créativité et le potentiel sont des qualités que nous recherchons chez les candi-dats et nous portons une a t t e n t i o n particulière notamment à l’origi-nalité, la diversité et l’authenticité des personnali-tés, des parcours, des expériences et des ambitions de chacun.

Les nouveaux profils dont nous avons besoin doivent être ca-pables de se remettre en question constamment dans un environne-ment qui évolue très rapidement, ils ne doivent pas accepter le sta-tus quo, ils sont amenés à relever les défis et les réaliser, à avoir tou-jours une longueur d’avance et un esprit d’équipe qui les poussent à aider les autres à réussir.

Et les jeunes dans tout cela ?

Depuis quelques temps déjà, ING a décidé de miser sur les jeunes

sans ou avec peu d’expérience, de les former en interne à leur future fonction et de les accompagner dans leur développement. Bien entendu, en sortant de l’école, ils ne sont pas tout de suite opé-rationnels ; les compétences ac-quises sont encore embryonnaires à ce stade et il faut pouvoir dé-tecter très tôt leur motivation et leur potentiel d’évolution en les interrogeant sur leurs expériences, y compris extra-scolaires et ex-tra-professionnelles (ex. milieu associatif, parcours Erasmus, etc.) et en les mettant en situation face à des cas concrets. C’est un pari sur l’avenir.

A l’heure actuelle, pour attirer et retenir les bons profils, nous de-vons nous différencier non seu-lement de nos concurrents mais également d’autres entreprises dans d’autres secteurs (start up, big4,…) qui peuvent sembler

plus attractives pour des jeunes.

Comment les attirer ?

Pour trou-ver et capter ces jeunes nouveaux p r o f i l s ,

nous ciblons les écoles à

travers notre communication et

nos événements. Nous participons à des salons de recru-tement, des présentations métiers lors desquelles nous expliquons le milieu bancaire mais aussi cer-tains métiers spécifiques.

Depuis plusieurs années, nous sommes également sponsors de deux événements majeurs au Luxembourg, le Moovijob Tour de Lux et l’Unicareers. Avec notre marque employeur, nous déployons notre visibilité sur des canaux qui parlent aux jeunes diplômés et aux jeunes actifs en utilisant les réseaux so-ciaux (Linked’IN, Twitter, Facebook et Instagram).

Cela permet ainsi de capter leur attention et leur intérêt, renforce notre proximité et prouve égale-ment que nous sommes une en-treprise dynamique, innovante et digitale, entre autres avec l’utili-sation du logiciel Visiotalent qui permet un entretien vidéo enregis-tré aux candidats.

Nous utilisons bien sûr également la plateforme JobTeaser afin d’être au cœur des écoles et de toucher au maximum notre cible. Cet ou-til nous permet ainsi de proposer toutes nos offres de stage dans tous les domaines.

Il n’est pas nécessaire de suivre des études spécifiques en fi-nance ou en gestion, nos stages s’adressent à tous les étudiants du Luxembourg et d’ailleurs et nous privilégions les stages de longue durée (6 mois, voire 1 an) afin de permettre à nos stagiaires d’ac-quérir le maximum d’expérience.

Les stages : une première expérience valorisante

Les stagiaires sont véritable-ment intégrés dans les équipes, ils gèrent des missions variées et peuvent mettre en place des pro-jets. Ils peuvent participer à la plu-part des activités proposées à nos employés (notamment les initia-tives proposées par l’association du RING dédiée aux employés et stagiaires de moins de 36 ans) et ont accès à certaines formations proposées par la Banque.

Nous sommes d’ailleurs fiers d’avoir obtenu cette année, et pour la quatrième année consécu-tive, le label Happy Trainees qui récompense notre politique d’inté-gration, de suivi et de gestion des stagiaires. Au fur et à mesure des années, les stagiaires sont devenus un véri-table canal de recrutement.

Durant l’année 2017 ainsi que le premier semestre 2018, 30% de nos recrutements étaient d’ail-leurs d’anciens stagiaires. Nous

avons par exemple accueilli une jeune stagiaire pour un stage de 6 mois dans le département RH, au niveau Recrutement. Comme son stage s’est très bien déroulé et qu’elle a apporté entière satisfac-tion par son travail et son attitude, elle a ensuite été engagée en CDD dans le dé-partement RH, au niveau Payroll & Operations. Et finale-ment, elle a obtenu un CDI et a intégré une agence comme Re-l a t i o n s h i p Manager. Nos stagiaires sont donc un véritable vivier de recrutements de futurs « talents ».

Notre Graduate Programme

De plus, afin de capter les profils à potentiel, nous proposons éga-lement deux programmes d’ex-cellence à destination des jeunes diplômés :- L’ING International Talent Pro-gramme (IITP) qui est un pro-gramme global ING. De nom-breuses entités partout dans le monde y participent, dont ING Luxembourg, ce qui offre aux jeunes diplômés de nombreuses possibilités pour développer leur réseau et bénéficier d’expériences à l’étranger (les nouveaux enga-gés commencent par 2 missions de 6 mois à Luxembourg et une mission à l’étranger).

Il s’agit d’un Graduate Pro-gramme à destination des jeunes diplômés titulaires d’un Master (1 ou 2) et qui exercent une activité professionnelle depuis moins de deux ans. Le programme IITP est décliné en 5 versions en fonction du domaine recherché : Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Finance, IT, Risk. Nous recrutons entre 3 et 6 juniors par année dans ce programme mais les domaines

disponibles peuvent varier d’une année à l’autre.

- L’ING Luxembourg Talent Pro-gramme (ILTP) qui est un pro-gramme géré ici à Luxembourg. Il s’agit d’un Graduate Programme à destination des jeunes diplômés

titulaires d’un Bache-lor (ou Master), qui

exercent une activi-té professionnelle depuis moins de cinq ans et qui parlent luxem-bourgeois.

couvrir la banque en commençant

par 3 missions de 6 mois dans nos trois

départements commerciaux (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Wholesale Banking).

Notre marque employeur, les programmes proposés aux jeunes diplômés et les nombreux stages proposés nous permettent donc de cibler et d’attirer les « talents » de demain que nous fidélisons ensuite grâce à notre stratégie de rétention basée sur la diversité, l’épanouissement personnel, le développement continu, l’em-ployabilité, la flexibilité, l’inno-vation, et bien d’autres choses encore.

Notre politique d’engagement se caractérise donc clairement par le recrutement de jeunes diplômés qui seront les leaders et experts de demain.

Ce sont dès lors nos recrutements d’aujourd’hui qui feront la diffé-rence demain, encore plus que par le passé.
