Tomorrow’s People opens first ever shop in Sittingbourne

Tomorrow’s People launched the first of its new network of charity retail and furniture recycling units in Sittingbourne at 11am today, Thursday, 21st February 2013.

Selling high quality recycled donated products at affordable prices, this venture will provide employment, volunteer opportunities and support for our work.

The Sittingbourne shop is located at 6 Roman Square, Sittingbourne, ME10 4BJ.

It is the first of a number of stores to be rolled out nationally, including one in Bromborough and more in Kent. For more on our shops, see the new retail section of our website.

As Kent continues to experience high unemployment levels, Tomorrow’s People is committed to reinforcing its efforts in the county through the launch of the new Sittingbourne shop which will provide a number of local employment and volunteering opportunities. Tomorrow’s People has a long association with the county of Kent having spent the past ten years supporting over 4,000 unemployed local people into work.

Donations

In order to ensure the shop is fully stocked with a wide variety of high quality items, Tomorrow’s People is relying heavily on donations of items from the public. Local residents and business can lend their support to Tomorrow’s People by donating all kinds of items to the shop including furniture, electrical and household items, clothing and accessories, bric-a-brac, CDs, DVDs, games, musical instruments, books and toys. Donations can either be dropped off at the shop, or Tomorrow’s People will arrange to collect them. Donating to Tomorrow’s People will help reduce the number of items being sent to local landfill sites whilst helping to raise much needed funds for the charity to continue providing its vital work across the region. To find out more about donating items please contact the Tomorrow’s People team on 0845 8737 665.
