Dr. Benjamin has trained thousands of dental clinicians around the world and has faculty appointments at several universities. He is the Chairman of the ADA Standards Committee Working Group on Dental Lasers, a past President of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and editorial reviewer for several journals. PROGRAM Participation activities will include the use of the 970nm laser to learn and understand how the laser operates and performs. Attendees will perform simulated clinical treatments of the various soft tissue laser procedures that are routinely performed by a dental clinician. A comprehensive discussion on the laser techniques and considerations when diagnosing, performing, and managing the outcomes of laser treatments will be included. The patient & practice’s benefits of dental lasers. An understanding and knowledge of laser physics. Sufficient knowledge on how to set and control the parameters of a 970nm diode laser. Laser safety & infection control considerations. How to explain and perform many of the surgical procedures that can be performed with the 970nm laser, including: Gingivectomy/Gingivoplasty, Soft Tissue Troughing & Accessing Subgingival Restorations, Frenectomy, Biopsy, Operculectomy, Implant Surgery, & Many More Procedures How to perform Periodontal Debridement Laser Therapy (PDLT).
