What are Moneyfacts Star Ratings?Moneyfacts has used its in-depth research into the Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP)and Small Self Administered Scheme (SSAS) market to produce a new method ofevaluating the quality of today’s products. As the aim is to find stellar products, we havenaturally called this classification the ‘Moneyfacts Star Ratings’. The annualMoneyfacts Star Ratings allow providers and consumers to compare all the importantcharges and features of current products in the market.
MethodologyA numerical scoring system is used to calculate the annual Moneyfacts Star Ratings, with values are allocated to each relevantfeature of the product. Each of these scores is weighted according to the deduced benefit to the consumer or company and therelative cost.

STAR RATINGS CRITERIA FOR SIPP AND SSAS
The annual Moneyfacts Star Ratings criteria isbased on the weighting of specific productfeatures, with emphasis placed on features thatcould be of most relevance to a consumer orcompany. Using our vast knowledge gainedfrom the gathering of comprehensiveinformation and analysis, values are thenallocated based on the product’s flexibility andcharges.
Direct information from providers and feedbackfrom the industry allows further insight into whatfeatures are deemed to be most desirable in thecurrent market.
Moneyfacts holds over 50 fields of informationper individual product, all of which is availablefor assessment, and this data is continuallyupdated.
Features are also constantly reviewed in linewith market changes, giving distinction betweenindividual products.
The annual Moneyfacts Star Ratings allow theconsumer to choose with confidence the productthat most suits their needs in terms of qualitybefore considering the product based on value.

Terms of UseMoneyfacts Star Ratings are copyright and may only be used or replicated by licence. The Moneyfacts Star Ratings areassessed annually and in order to benefit from the above marketing potential a licence must first be obtained from MoneyfactsGroup. The licence runs for one calendar year starting from the release date of the annual assessment regardless of whenpurchased. In order not to miss market advantage, early purchase is strongly recommended.
Licences only apply to the accredited product and not across a range unless a range of products has been accredited and a multi-licence has been purchased from Moneyfacts Group.
