Why
Single Route Bussing is an evaluation of overall district effectiveness and efficiency. The district is in the process of finding ways to reduce 1.1 Million dollars by 2015. By adopting single routes, we are projected to save between $900,000 and 1.4 Million projected to save between $900,000 and 1.4 Million dollars in ten years.

There is no pattern or research I am aware of that links single bussing to student achievement performance.
Common Themes around the State
Problems were grades 6-12 sometimes being poor role models
Many reported no problems with K-12 on the same bus

The Loop
Currently 55-75 cars use the loop for each school.
Estimate is that this number will increase to somewhere around 130 cars for ES & MS.
We calculate that it will take 32 minutes to get everyone through the loop. If we start at 7:25 A.M.–everyone through the loop. If we start at 7:25 A.M.–that goes to 7:57 A.M.
We have a secondary option if the loop can not handle the traffic flow we anticipate.
We have discussed our plan with both the Richwood police and fire department.
Concern Fire – After school parking in the Loop – Fire Lane – New Signs
Police – teacher new traffic pattern in the Loop – Possible Right Turn Lane.

Inappropriate use of a device will have them taken away by the bus driver for the remainder of the trip. The school is not responsible for lost, stolen or broken devices. Multiple violations could result in the student not being allowed to have the device on the bus. These would be added to the 2012-13 parent/student handbook.
