FOOLISH BAGGAGEIn 1845, the ill-fated Franklin Expedition sailed from England to find a passage
across the Arctic Ocean.
The crew loaded their two sailing ships with a lot of things they didn’t need: a1,200-volume library, fine china, crystal goblets, and sterling silverware for eachofficer with his initials engraved on the handles. Amazingly, each ship took only a12-day supply of coal for their auxiliary steam engines.
The ships became trapped in vast frozen plains of ice. After several months, LordFranklin died. The men decided to trek to safety in small groups, but none of themsurvived.
One story is especially heartbreaking. Two officers pulled a large sled more than65 miles across the treacherous ice. When rescuers found their bodies, theydiscovered that the sled was filled with table silver.
Those men contributed to their own demise by carrying what they didn't need.But don’t we sometimes do the same? Don’t we drag baggage through life that wedon’t need? Evil thoughts that hinder us. Bad habits that drag us down. Grudgesthat we won’t let go.

refinish those revolvers which have previously been refinished.

guaranteed to function properly. All hammer notches are TIG welded and hand honed.
They are also case-hardened for greater durability. RE-CASE COLORED HAMMERS are
available in some styles, or you can have us custom re-case color one for you. These
case-colored hammers are exactly like the originals were.

“A Colt Single Action that left the factory in near perfect condition in 1907 nowfound itself in need of a major overhaul 90 years later. It was sent off to Eddie Janisalong with a new .44 Special barrel I had on hand saved for just such a project.Several new parts were required, a new cylinder pin and bushing, a newmainspring, a few screws, an ejector rod and spring, and a .44 Special cylinder. Thenew cylinder and barrel were installed with minimum barrel clearance, an oversizecylinder bolt removed all play in the cylinder. Over nearly a century of use both thetrigger and hammer notches had worn considerably and these were both welded upand re-cut. In the process the action was tuned, the trigger pull set at 3 1/2#, and allinternal parts totally smoothed in what Janis calls his Gunslinger Deluxe Package.
“When the 7 1/2” .44 special arrived back home, I was in Single Action Heaven! Theaction is smooth, the cylinder is tight, the trigger pull is clean and crisp. When itcomes to Colt Single Actions, Peacemaker Specialists can handle practicallyanything from the simplest parts request to a total action job to remarking the barreland beveling the face of the cylinder to making a new Colt look 100 year old to totalrebuilding. I recommend them highly. For less than the cost of new Third GenerationColt Single Action Army, which by the way cannot now be had in .44 Specialchambering, I have a “New” Colt that is as close to perfection as any Single ActionArmy can be.
