Vital Healing Energy, Mind and Spirit in Indian, Tibetan and Middle Eastern Medicine Marc S. Micozzi, MD, PhD With Donald McCown and Mones Abu-Asab, PhD (Unani), Hakima Amri, PhD (Unani), Kevin Ergil, MA, MS, LAc (Tibet), Howard Hall, PsyD, PhD (Sufi), Hari Sharma, MD (Maharishi Ayurveda), Kenneth G. Zysk, Dphil, PhD (Ayurveda & Siddha)

The traditional medicines of Middle Asia are rich and varied - from the Unani and Siddha medicines of southern India, to the Sufi healing practices of the Middle East.

For the first time, Dr. Marc S. Micozzi draws together the ancient healing wisdom of traditional Indian, Tibetan, and Middle Eastern medicines. He sets forth the compelling idea that vital energy, expressed as ‘prana’ in the Indian practice of Ayur Veda and ‘qi’ in traditional Chinese medicine, is a unifying concept that underpins and connects all of these traditions. Describing the origins, health promotion strategies, diagnostic techniques, and modern-day uses of each approach, he also draws parallels to and finds correlations with mainstream Western concepts, and demonstrates how these CAM therapies fit within the context of their own cultures and ours.

This groundbreaking book will be of interest to practitioners of all Middle Eastern and Asian medical traditions, complementary and alternative health practitioners, and anyone else with an interest in Middle Eastern and Asian approaches to health and wellbeing.

Marc S. Micozzi, MD, PhD, is the founder and director of the Policy Institute for Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is a former Executive Director of the College of Physicians and Director of the National Museum of Health and Medicine. For many years, Dr Micozzi has pioneered vital health information to professionals and consumers, collaborating with former US Surgeon General C. Everett Koop and other leaders in the growing wellness movement. In the early 1990s, he frequently shared the speaker’s podium and the radio and television airwaves with leaders such as Drs. Andrew Neil, Deepak Chopra, Mehmet Oz, and Dean Ormish. Dr. Micozzi lives in Bethesda, Maryland and Rockport, Massachusetts.

Wan’s Clinical Application of Chinese Medicine Scientific Practice of Diagnosis, Treatment and Therapeutic Monitoring Giorgio Repeti LAc with Marc S. Micozzi MD., PhD

Much of acupuncture practice in the West remains incomplete or less potent because it has been based upon particular interpretations often by only one individual, in translation. The broad, diverse and ancient practices of Chinese medicine are often misconstrued and overshadowed by the more modern Traditional Chinese Medicine in Westernised texts. This book places more powerful tools in the hands of practitioners and expands our knowledge of the full potential of Chinese medical practices. Grandmaster Wan was a well known doctor of Chinese medicine, who in the traditional way of Chinese teaching took on only a handful of students throughout his life, one of whom was Giorgio Repeti.

The author’s extensive notes, derived from his years of discipleship to Grandmaster Wan, form the basis of this book, and he has in the core of the book resisted any temptation to include his own views or amend those of the teacher. The approach described was characterised by Grandmaster Wan as the 3E approach (easy, economical and efficient), and is deceptively simple, It is, however, an approach that can only fully be comprehended through reflection and experience. The book covers the basic principles of diagnosis, with chapters on pulse and tongue diagnosis. A key chapter on acupuncture provides clear directives for treatment that relies on simple yet powerful underpinning principles, and challenges the much more complex approach to acupuncture commonly taught in the West. Herbal medicines and herbal treatments for cold, warm and hot diseases are also covered.

This clinically based text will provide an essential vademecum for practitioners of Chinese medicine, and a thoughtful introduction for students that will carry them through to their own practice. Contents: Editor’s Preface. About the Author. Introduction. How to Read This Book. Wan’s 3E Diagnostic Method. Radial Pulse by Giorgio Repeti. Wan’s 3E Acupressure. Wan’s 3E Acupuncture - ‘The Essentials’. Wan’s 3E Herbal - ‘Knowing the Cold & Hot Syndromes’. Conclusion for the Physician. Appendix.

Tuina / Massage Manipulations Basic Principles and Techniques Chief Editor: Li Jiangshan

Tuina, also known as Chinese massage, is one of the cornerstones of Chinese medicine. This comprehensive introduction is written with the needs of the student and beginning practitioner in mind, and covers all the basic principles of the manipulation techniques required to practice Tuina. As manipulations are the primary method of carrying out treatment, they are a core component of the study of Tuina - they are also the most difficult skills to master. The written and illustrated text is therefore accompanied by a 40 minute DVD demonstrating all the techniques in action, which is fully indexed for ease of use and quick reference.

The guide is divided into two parts. The first introduces the definitions, classifications, and requirements of each Tuina manipulation, as well as common media used in Tuina, and the rest of the book describes the main points, cautions, and clinical application of the most common adult manipulations. The book begins by explaining the concept behind the different manipulations, then detailing chapter by chapter how each should be performed. Every explanation is accompanied by a diagram, and the DVD demonstrates these methods in action and shows how to achieve the best results.

This book will be an essential learning tool for students, and handy reference for beginning practitioners.

The Secret of Everlasting Life The First Translation of the Ancient Chinese Text of Immortality Richard Bertschinger

The Secret of Everlasting Life is the first translation from the Chinese of the second-century Can Dong Qi. This ancient work, the earliest known text on transformation and immortality, echoes the wisdom and poetry of both the Tao Te Ching and I Ching. The Can Dong Qi is also the ancestral text of all Qi Gong exercises in China. This translation reveals for the first time the meditation methods practised for thousands of years by Taoist sages.

Presented here with its original Chinese commentaries, the Can Dong Qi is full of practical information and advice about the process of human transformation and how to nurture and develop the natural life-energy within us. Richard Bertschinger’s additional commentary explains the intricacies of Chinese allegory and symbolism for the Western reader.

Richard Bertschinger studied for ten years with the Taoist sage and Master, Gia-fu Feng. A practising acupuncturist, teacher of Chinese healing arts, and translator of ancient Chinese texts, he lives with his family in the hills of south west England.

The Yang Tàijí 24-Step Short Form A Step-by-Step Guide for all Levels James Drewe

Yang 24-Step Tàijíquan is one of the most widely-practiced Tàijíquan forms in the world today, and the form that most people first learn. Gentle enough to be suitable for the elderly, yet challenging enough to stretch even the most experienced practitioner, it is also one of the most accessible and rewarding.

In his new book, James Drewe provides a comprehensive and detailed explication of the postures and movements of the form. For each, he describes exactly how the weight flows, how to use the hands, how to move the limbs, and how to relax into the movement, clearly explaining each step with the aid of foot patterns and photographs. Sections on the internal aspects of Tàijíquan, descriptions of the subtle variations that may be made when performing certain movements, and even instructions on how to fit the movements to music are also included.

This comprehensive guide to Yang 24-Step Tàijíquan is an invaluable resource for taiji practitioners at all levels, including beginners, as well as taiji instructors, and students of other martial arts.

James Drewe has been practising taiji and qigong since 1975. He has studied taiji with Master Chu King Hung, Richard Watson, Prof. Li Deyin, Master Wang Yanji, Simon Watson, and Master Huang Ping. He currently teaches Yang, Sun, Chen, and Wudang styles of taiji, including various sword, fan, and stick forms. James is Vice-Chairman of the Longfei Taijiquan Association, a member of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA) and is a registered instructor with the Tai Chi Union or Great Britain (TCUGB).

Biochemical Imbalances in Disease A Practitioner’s Handbook Edited by Lorraine Nicolle and Ann Woodriff Beirne Foreword by David S. Jones MD, FABFP

‘Biochemical Imbalances in Disease will prove to be an important publication that adds to the expanding body of literature about functional medicine (FM)….The authors’ careful explanations in this volume illustrate how clinical practice, coupled with skills learned through rigorous training in FM, can successfully bring to the therapeutic relationship real patient-centred answers for chronic, complex illnesses’.

- from the Foreword by David S. Jones, MD, FABFP, President and Director of Medical Education, The Institute of Functional Medicine.

Biochemical imbalances caused by nutritional deficiencies are a contributory factor in chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, auto-immune conditions and cancer. This handbook for practitioners explains how to identify and treat such biochemical imbalances in order to better understand and manage a patient’s ill-health.

The book examines a range of biochemical imbalances, including compromised adrenal or thyroid function, gastro-intestinal imbalances, immune system problems and sex hormone imbalances, and explains how and why such states occur. It pulls together a wide range of evidence to show how such imbalances are involved in the most common chronic diseases. It helps practitioners to understand how to identify the imbalances through appropriate case history taking and laboratory testing, and how to design and implement effective nutritional interventions. Developed by leading academics and practitioners in the fields of nutritional therapy and functional medicine, this evidence-informed approach can be used with all patients who present in clinic, regardless of whether or not they have a ‘named medical condition’. In the final chapter, a case example illustrates how to use the theoretical information in the practice of treating patients with chronically compromised health.

Biochemical Imbalances in Disease is an essential text for nutritional therapy practitioners, as well as for students, and will be welcomed by complementary and conventional healthcare practitioners alike.

Lorraine Nicolle MSc is a nutritional therapist with a regular clinic at a London-based natural health centre (www.greenwichnaturalhealth.co.uk). Lorraine is also a lecturer in nutrition and nutritional therapy at Thames Valley University, London. The Insightful Body Healing with SomaCentric Dialoguing Julie McKay

“One of the most difficult things for a bodyworker to quantify is the subjective experience of ‘dis-ease’ for each individual client. Julie defines and teaches that therapeutic quality of ‘presence.’ This book takes you beyond communicating with your client to true interaction with body, mind and spirit. I learned from this book, and because of it will continue to learn more with each interaction with my clients. Improved communication, improved outcomes, continued learning and growth for both the client and the bodyworker…Fabulous! This is what the therapeutic relationship is all about!”

- Jean Wible, RN, BSN, NCTMB, LMT, HTCP, author of Pharmacology for Massage Therapy and Drug Handbook for Massage Therapists

In this accessible introduction to the approach, Julie McKay outlines the core techniques and describes how they can be applied to make therapeutic sessions more effective. Explaining that individuals communicate and process information in different ways she describes how therapists can identify each client’s unique language blend, and how they can use this knowledge to encourage them to become more in tune with, and more able to express, their body’s needs. Guidance is provided on how to ask more effective questions in sessions, what words to use, and what words to avoid, for optimal results. Using carefully chosen words and phrases therapists can empower clients to express themselves freely. Using the simple, yet profound, techniques outlined in this book therapist of all kinds will learn how to look beyond the head and into the body to help clients heal more completely and more deeply.

Cranial Intelligence A Practical Guide to Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Ged Sumner and Steve Haines Foreword by Franklyn Sills

At the deepest level of our physiology, all living tissues and fluids expand and contract with the ‘breath of life’. Through gentle touch, the skilled practitioner can interact with these subtle rhythms to address physical aches and pains, acute or chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, or simply to promote enduring health and vitality.

This new and important textbook demystifies the biodynamic approach to craniosacral therapy and shows how and why it can be so effective at bringing about a natural realignment towards optimal health. The authors describe how to ‘listen’ and respond appropriately to each client’s system, how to create a safe space for working with different kinds of trauma, and how to address specific states of imbalance to support deep-felt and lasting change. Throughout the book, experiential exercises encourage the reader to practice their newly-acquired skills, and refine their knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. A final chapter on practice development covers issues pertinent to practitioners trying to set up and maintain a successful practice.

Body Intelligence Creating a New Environment Second edition Ged Sumner

Body Intelligence offers a new understanding of how the body works and leads the reader to a greater sense of wellbeing and an enriched sense of self.

The anatomy of the body is explored without the complexity of medical terminology. Instead, common descriptions are used along with a multitude of images, allowing the reader to visualize and work with different levels of the body. Experiential exercises, guided meditations and movements are provided throughout the book, helping the reader to develop improved levels of health and body intelligence that are natural and accessible all the time. As body intelligence increases through these exercises, physical changes occur and a new posture emerges, followed by positive mental and emotional shifts. The reader will begin to feel differently, move differently and think differently.

Ged Sumner is a practicing Craniosacral Therapist and Chi Kung teacher. He has also studied shiatsu, healing, and attachment based psychoanalytical psychotherapy. Ged has taught biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy as a senior tutor and course director for the Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust’s (CTET) practitioner trainings in London, and as a senior tutor for Resonance Trainings courses in Australia and New Zealand. The book describes and explains all of the fundamental principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including yin/yang, the five elements, the ‘zang and fu’ organs, Zang Xiang, Qi, and the meridians and collaterals of the body. Explaining not only the principles upon which these elements work, but also how they interrelate, the book describes how they can be used in practice to identify, treat and prevent ill-health and disease.

Meet Your Body CORE Bodywork and Rolfing Tools to Release Bodymindcore Trauma Noah Karrasch Illustrated by Lovella Lindsey

‘This book gives an interesting understanding of the structure of the human body for a qigong practitioner. He takes the holistic view that we need to work with all our hinges, not just the ones that are giving us a problem… I think that bodyworkers such as Rolfers and cranio-sacral therapists have a lot of insights to offer the qigong world.’

- Ken Morgan, Medical Qigong Education Centre

Noah’s therapeutic work is influenced by his background in Rolfing, a hands-on manipulation of the body’s connective tissue designed to enhance posture and freedom of movement. From this theory of structural integration, Karrasch has developed a focus on the inseparable connection between our minds and our bodies, our bodymindcore. Guiding the reader through the various hinges of the body, from the big toe to the hip to the head, the author shows how learning to isolate and stretch these hinges in new ways can lead to a happy bodymindcore, making a great difference to overall health and wellbeing.

Seeking the Spirit of The Book of Change 8 Days to Mastering a Shamanic Yijing (I Ching) Prediction System Master Zhongxian Wu Foreword by Daniel Reid

‘Master Wu’s book is really an invitation to spend a week with a practicing Taoist, and as such it is a unique and refreshing addition to the literature of the Yijing. He presents a traditional method of divination that relies on a balance of philosophy and intuition, on numerology and wordless awareness. Master Wu invites us into his tea room, introduces us to the culture of tea and the practice of qigong. His goal is admirable. Let’s not be mere students of the Yijing but find that state of mind and unity with the Tao from which the Yijing was first produced.’

- Kenneth Cohen, author of The Way of Qigong and Taoism: Essential Teachings

The Yijing (I Ching) or “Book of Change” is one of the oldest of the Chinese classic texts and has held a key place in the Daoist tradition for thousands of years. Explaining the ancient Yijing system of prediction based on the Xiang (symbolism) and Shu (numerology) knowledge of Bagua (the eight basic trigrams), which have not previously been written about outside China, this book makes the Yijing accessible to the Western world in a new and fuller way.

Cha Dao The Way of Tea, Tea as a Way of Life Solala Towler

In China, the art and practice of drinking tea is about much more than merely soaking leaves in a cup of hot water. The tradition is rooted in Daoism, and emerged from a philosophy that honoured living a life of grace and gratitude, balance and harmony, and fulfilment and enjoyment - what the ancient Chinese called Cha Dao, or the Way of Tea.

Cha Dao takes us on a fascinating journey through the Way of Tea, from its origins in the sacred mountains and temples of ancient China, through its links to Daoist concepts such as Wu Wei or non-striving and the Value of Worthlessness, to the affinity between Tea Mind and the Japanese spirit of Zen. Interspersed are a liberal helping of quotes from the great tea masters of the past, anecdotes from the author’s own trips to China, and traditional tea stories from China and Japan. The unique health benefits of tea are also explored, and a chapter is devoted to describing the history, characteristics and properties of 25 different tea varieties.

This book will interest tea lovers, as well as those who want to learn more about tea culture, Daoist and Zen thought and practice, and Asian history and culture.

Solala Towler is an instructor of Daoist meditation and of several styles of Qigong, including Soaring Crane Qigong, Essence Qigong, and Wuji Qigong. He has studied the Daoist arts for over 20 years, and has led many tours to China to visit the sacred mountains and temples of Daoism. He is the author of 12 books on Qigong and the Daoist arts, is a former president of the National Qigong Association, and is the editor of The Empty Vessel: The Journal of Daoist Philosophy and Practice. It then presents a program of specially-designed stress relief exercises, followed by a series of gentler stress prevention exercises, many of which can be carried out either seated or standing. The author provides easy-to-follow instructions for each of the steps, and the postures and movements are explained with the aid of photographs. Designed specifically to fit in around a busy lifestyle, the Qigong program set out in this book will help to reduce stress, decrease anxiety, and restore energy.

This practical book will help anyone who is prone to stress, regardless of their level of ability or experience of Qigong. It will also be a useful resource for Taijiquan and Qigong instructors, alternative therapists, and other professionals working with clients who are affected by stress.

Gordon Faulkner is Principal Instructor at the Chanquanshu School of Daoist Arts. He is a Certified International Judge of Daoyin Yangsheng Gong and President of the Scotland and Wales Daoyin Yangsheng Gong Association.

Qigong for Multiple Sclerosis Finding Your Feet Again Nigel Mills

This book has been written to help people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) improve their physical and psychological functioning using the Chinese system of movement and meditation known as Qigong, closely related to Tai Chi. Qigong focuses on the important basic principles of balance, body alignment and energy flow without the need to learn the complex patterns of Tai Chi.

People with MS often experience impaired balance, difficulties in walking, tremor, low energy levels, and anxiety. Qigong can be used to improve their day-to-day wellbeing. The program described in this book was developed in a hospital setting and rigorously evaluated, and is cited by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence. Most of the participants reported specific improvements on many dimensions.

The author provides a step-by-step guide, with photographs and clear text, to show how people with MS can improve their health and quality of life using Qigong. Many of the exercises can be done either seated or standing, and are suitable for anyone, regardless of their level of ability. He explains how to use Qigong to improve balance and walking, and promote healthy breathing and relaxation. He also explores the role of stress in triggering relapses in MS, and an approach designed to help people with MS overcome previous traumatic events, manage stress, and reduce the likelihood of further relapses is included.

Alchemy of Pushing Hands Oleg Tcherne

The practice of Pushing Hands (Tui Shou) is generally thought of as a means of enhancing the practice of Taiji Quan, but it is also an independent practice in its own right. Pushing Hands develops sensitivity to the body’s internal state and can be used to help control the emotions, the circulation of energy and physical balance. This book teaches the reader how to act or react in harmony with any external event without losing their ‘balance’ or center, enabling them to respond with confidence and flexibility to each situation.

Illuminating the principles of body construction, this accessible and practical guide to Pushing Hands explains the eight types of concentration and the six “efforts” required to master them. Taking the reader through the thirteen principles of Pushing Hands and nine keys of movement which enable the proper flow of energy, the author provides a thorough understanding of the various elements of Pushing Hands practice. Exercises for developing concentration and pushing hands techniques are clearly explained and illustrated throughout the book.

Oleg Tcherne is a practitioner of internal martial arts with over 25 years of experience. The main focus of Oleg’s practice is Daoist Alchemy. He has undergone teaching with Daoist monks in China and has practiced with a variety of masters. He currently teaches and practices Chen style Taiji Quan with Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang.

What is ‘Tai Chi’? Peter A. Gilligan This book grew out of a question one of the author’s students asked. The answer proved to be longer than either teacher or student could have anticipated.

As he looks at the complex art of ‘Tai Chi’, the author answers questions such as why, unlike in other martial arts, ‘Tai Chi’ has no gradings; how hard you should try; and how to make the most of your teacher. A wide range of material is covered, including fundamental points about the mechanics of movement and the ‘energetic’ aspects of practice, as well as the relationship between body, mind and spirit that emerges. The author also provides answers to questions that even experienced practitioners may not have thought to ask, such as what are the levels of self-defense in ‘Tai Chi’? How do I refine and develop my ‘Tai Chi’? What is the difference between method and technique? How do I put principles into practice?

This insightful book covers all aspects of ‘Tai Chi’, answering questions that are beyond the scope of many classes. It will be of interest to anyone beginning ‘Tai Chi’ or Qi Gong, as well as to more experienced practitioners at all levels.

Bagua Quan Foundation Training He Jinghan Translated by David Alexander

‘Bagua Quan: Foundation Training is very highly recommended and an invaluable addition to personal, profession, and dojo library and reference collections.’

-The Midwest Book Review

The ancient Chinese art of Bagua Quan combines internal cultivation -the training of the mind - with external application, strengthening and supporting the health of the body. The key functions of Bagua Quan, as understood through the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to the body, are to regulate Qi and blood, balance Yin and Yang, and regulate the flow of energy in the body. In this book, Master He explains the philosophy and techniques of Bagua Quan and provides the reader with an accessible approach to the practice of the art.

The first part of the book provides an exploration of the basic concepts underlying traditional Chinese martial arts and goes on to explain the philosophical principles of the eight Bagua trigrams and their relationship to Bagua Quan. The book contains many exercises designed to improve stamina, strengthen bones and muscles, and fortify the mind, including training methods such as wrist and elbow rotation, leg and palm techniques and stances. A comprehensive chapter on internal cultivation skills explains how Qi and Li (energy and force) can be integrated through changes in limb and trunk movements

Passionate Medicine Making the transition from conventional medicine to homeopathy Edited by Robin Shohet 2005 192pp ISBN: 9781843102984 pb £12.99 BIC: VXHH MQTC

Passionate Medicine is a compelling record of the journeys of five doctors and two veterinary surgeons from conventional medicine to homeopathy.

Their insightful autobiographical stories clearly demonstrate the cost of the ‘dehumanising’ principle to the medical profession and argue for a more holistic, caring model that regards self-knowledge, passion and the ability to create successful practitioner-patient relationships as central to the healing process.

This book is a thoughtful and illuminating consideration of the relationship between the medical profession and alternative therapies, and will prove compelling reading for all trainee and practising medical professionals.

She also offers advice on who to approach for treatment, and includes a list of recommended resources and useful contacts for further information.

Breath in Action The Art of Breath in Vocal and Holistic Practice Edited by Jane Boston and Rena Cook 2009 256pp ISBN: 9781843109426 pb £16.99 BIC: YND MQTC

Breath in Action looks at the significance of breath to human life - not just the simple fact that if we stop breathing, we die, but also the more subtle ways in which our breath interacts with our voice and our being. Written by experts in vocal and holistic practice, the book is divided into four sections: Breath and the Body; Breath and the Mind; Breath and Holistic Practice; Breath and Performance.

It offers the latest theories from a variety of disciplines on how we can be taught to breathe better so as to communicate better, act or sing better, feel better, live better. Combining theory with practice, many of the chapters also offer clearly laid out breathing exercises and techniques.

Meditation and Movement Structured Therapeutic Activity Sessions G. Rosser2009 144pp ISBN: 9781849050180 pb £19.99 BIC: MQTC JN JNSG

Meditation and Movement is an accessible series of structured relaxation and self-awareness sessions to help strengthen students’ self-control, resilience and respect – for both themselves and others.

This course of fourteen one-hour structured sessions is suitable for groups of children, teens and youths, and especially beneficial for, but not limited to, use in schools with pupils with disabilities, special educational needs, self-esteem issues or behavioural difficulties. The course combines skills from different disciplines, and includes: meditation practices; therapeutic writing and talking tasks; movement and psychodrama play activities; and breathing, posture and movement techniques found in some martial arts.

An ideal course text for school teachers, school counsellors and psychologists, these structured sessions will also appeal to a variety of societies and associations, such as Buddhist, martial arts and drama groups.

The Creative Arts in Dementia Care Practical Person-Centred Approaches and Ideas Jill Hayes with Sarah Povey Foreword by Shaun McNiff September 2010 160pp ISBN: 9781849050562 pb £18.99 BIC: JKSG MQT MQTC

‘This is a ‘work of the heart’. It is a deep, profound and clear demonstration of why ‘Feelings Matter Most’ in dementia care. Using dance, song and storytelling, the authors show you how to connect with the real essence of people. Taking hold of your hand this book will free your own creativity giving you lots of practical ideas. I strongly recommend this, it is inspiring.’

- David Sheard, Director, Dementia Care Matters, and Visiting Senior Fellow, Division of Health and Social Care,

University of Surrey

The physical care of people with dementia is of vital importance, but so too is their emotional, social, mental and spiritual wellbeing. The creative arts are gaining increasing recognition not only as a tool for delivering effective person-centred dementia care, but also for attending to soul as well as body.

Encouraging those who care for people with dementia to develop their own creative skills, this book provides a creative map of care with easy-to-follow examples and detailed case studies. After explaining why adopting a creative approach is central to effective dementia care, the authors go on to discuss meditation, singing, movement and storytelling, describing the therapeutic benefits of each and giving practical examples of how they can be used with individuals or groups.
