The Obligation Of TraditionFor over 105 years, Solis has successfully been introducing new equipment into the kitchen, beauty and climate-control seg-ments. The long experience has enabled Solis to bring new, safe and innovative products to the market. As a Swiss company with a long and rich tradition, genuine values such as reliability, trust and sustainability are particularly important to Solis.

A Wide Range Of High-End ProductsSolis offers a wide selection of useful household appliances that have a timeless design and highend quality, covering the kitchen, beauty and climate control segments. A high level of quality, design and functionality are what matter. Solis only introduces new products after they have undergone extensive internal and external testing. Of course, Solis products comply with the rele-vant legal norms. The most important requirement for a devise is that it should provide pleasure in its use at home. In order to make Solis customers happy with the sold household devices, Solis only offers those products that convincend the in-house staff after they personally had tested them.

Back To The FutureThe honest opinion of customers and business partners is vital to Solis, because that is the only way for Solis to develop and im-prove their production constantly. Swiss designers develop new household devices so that over and over again, Solis can continue to score on the market with genuine innovations.

Taking Fresh Paths TogetherMichelin-starred chef Tobias Funke and Solis of Switzerland AG have been following the same path since the end of 2013. This young chef (awarded 16 Gault Millau points and a star by the Michelin Guide) acts as a Solis brand-ambassador and exclu-sively presents the Solis high-end kitchen appliances. He has also adopted a consultancy role, testing new Solis equipment while developing recipes to suit them; he hands out great tips and tricks and publishes them on the Solis fan-page on Face-book. Tobias Funke was elected as the Newcomer of the Year by Gault Millau in 2011. In spring 2015, Tobias Funke will take over the reins at the new “Zur Fernsicht” restaurant in Heiden, Switzerland. This new establishment has a breath-taking view over Lake Constance and is fitted with two separate kitchens: a gourmet kitchen as well as a traditional kitchen.

Top Quality As A Common Denominator“Good preparation and absolute top-quality products are vital to me”, explained the Michelin-starred chef. That’s why I appre-ciate Solis products – in the large kitchen at work, as well as in my own at home”.

Emphasis On The Connection To SwitzerlandWhen it comes to ingredients and dishes, a close connection to Switzerland is very important to Tobias Funke. His menu in-cludes some Swiss recipes that are up to 400 years old, which he discovered at the National Library in Berne. This collaboration therefore also allows Solis to emphasise on its own close connec-tion to Switzerland and to Swiss values, such as reliability, trust and sustainability.

Solis Of Switzerland – A Byword For Quality and Functionality For Over 105 YearsSolis was set up in Zurich in 1908, with its own production and sales facilities. The first product Solis invented and intro-duced to the market, was the electric heating-pad. A few years later, Solis launched the first Solis hair-dryers. From 1944 on, the company-owned production facilities were relocated to the Swiss Canton of Ticino, where they remain to this day.

Laying The Foundation For The FutureThe takeover of Solis in 1983 by the entrepreneur Willi A. Nauer made Solis switch to kitchen and climate-control equipment, thus laying down an important foundation stone for the future. Shortly after, in 1985, Solis launched the first fully automatic domestic espresso-machine. This was a great success, with more than half a million of these machines being sold around the world.

The First Ionic Hair-DryerWhether in a professional hairdressing salon or at home, the professional hair-dryers of Solis have always been a guarantee of power, long service-life and innovation. In 2001, for example, Solis set new standards when they developed the very first hair-dryer to incorporate ionic technology.

The Next Generation Takes OverIn 2012, after more than 30 successful years, Willi A. Nauer handed the management of the Solis Group over to his son, Thomas Nauer, who has worked in the company since 2008. This means the business and its great traditions can continue to grow and move on to a new generation in family ownership.
