Benefi t from powers of nature – Simultan Separator GALAXIE TOWERThe whirl separator system AWAS GALAXIE simulates the natural water power resources for self-cleaning by energetic rotative streams. Oil, sludge and water are simultaneously separated and automatically discharged. Base of this principle is the GALAXIE movement. The compact construction allows large fl ows with a minimum of space. The service free design will minimise your disposal cost to a minimum.

Basic principle

The bionic basic principle derives from the movement of Galaxies. Cen-trifugal forces will draw light bodies centripetally to the centre and heavy bodies centrifugally outward.

On the basis of this principle several spiral profi les and sizes were de-veloped. With the aid of hydrodynamic model calculations (CFD) and various intensive practical tests the most effi cient profi les were found.

The mixture of oil, sludge and water fl ows by gravity into the GALAXIE TOWER, or is pumped in by a non emulsifying spiral pump. The centrifu-gal forces in the spiral will manoeuvre the particles to the outwall and at the same time to the middle and downwards. Caused by the extension of the middle spiral into the hopper there is nearly no stream anymore, so that even smallest particles will settle and can be removed.

The centripetal separation of oil accumulates oil globules at the inner wall. They will grow, get lighter, rise to the surface and fl ow out. The mechanically pre-cleaned water fl ows over a circular weir to the outlet.

TÜV – tested safety

The European test centre of TÜV Rheinland tested and certifi ed the standard GALAXIE sizes ac. to LGA procedure as fi ne oil separator and coalescence separator, resp. light liquid separator ac. to EN 858 class I. Furthermore TÜV Rheinland (Technical Inspection Agency) established a test procedure for fi ne sand separation (100 μm). The GALAXIE system is worldwide the fi rst one to pass the test successfully and be certifi ed as coalescence separator for simultaneous separation of oil and fi ne sand.
