Review All Fields on Each Object

Page Layout Review/Updates

List View Updates

Reports

Review the FLS to hide or control edit permissions on each field.

Decide which fields should be required.

Review and update picklist values in each of your dropdown fields.

Set default values where appropriate, to help eliminate extra clicks for your users.

Populate the Help Text feature in each field that your users find confusing, or are using inappropriately.

Review and update the order (sequence) of the fields displayed on the screen, in a way that makes sense to your end users.

Organize the related fields into logical sections and use descriptive Section Names in your page layouts.

Order your sections to make data entry and viewing of data simple and logical showing the most important information near the top of the screen.

Customize your related lists to ensure that the most appropriate fields are displayed on each of those related lists.

On each of the related lists, give some thought to decide how you want those related record sorted. Do you want them sorted alphabetically? Sequentially by date created or last modified, with the oldest record on the top or the newest one on the top?

Delete all unused List Views.Create specific list views that are appropriate for specific groups of users.

Look at your Optimizer Report to identify all of the reports that aren’t being used by anyone in your organization.

Either move all unused reports to a consolidated “Archived Folder” or simply delete them entirely.

Salesforce App Manager

Home Page

Setup > User Interface Options

AppExchange Apps (Installed Packages)

Drill into each App found in App Manager.

Review the tabs included in the navigation.

Identify which tabs could be eliminated.

Identify which tabs should be included.

Review and update the sequencing (sorting) of the tabs.

Review the Lightning Components that should be eliminated.

Identify which Lightning Components should be added.

Review the placement of each Lightning Component.

Identify which Lightning Components should be dynamically visible only for certain types of users.

Enable Inline Editing

Enable Enhanced Lists

Enable Collapsible Sections

Enable Hover Details

Identify which Installed Packages are no longer being used by anyone.

Uninstall any packages no longer needed.

Explore if the company currently has paid subscriptions associated to some of the Installed Packages being uninstalled. Make sure to cancel those subscriptions.
