Requirements of the Extended Navigation Application

• Enrich the navigation application by value added real time traffic and traveler information

• Consider traffic information provided by different services and thus by different protocols & standards (in SIM-TD traffic info over IP, C2X Message over ITS G5)

• Create a single interface to the navigation core to provide the needed traffic

Enhancement of navigation by new performant traffic information services is mandatory for today ITS landscape

Since different standards and protocols will co-exist, it is important to unify the traffic info interface to the navigation to simplify the data handling
