Christmas & New Year’s Eve at The Victoria Hall is an initiative of

Silver Sky Events who have secured the exclusive use of the Victoria Hall

in the heart of Oakham during the month of December.

Silver Sky Events is a local Rutland business, established in 2008,

to deliver contemporary Christmas Parties, and a New Year’s Eve

celebration for private groups and local businesses.

Party-goers will be able to indulge their appetite for Rutland’s finest,

locally grown food as Silver Sky Events have sourced only the finest

ingredients from some of the county’s leading suppliers.

Additionally, Silver Sky Events will be offering a variety of entertainment

options (depending on the night chosen) from a DJ, Jazz (Jazz Rats), live band

(Shine) to a nine-piece live big band (The Pocket Big Band) on New Year’s Eve.

We hope you will join us to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve in the

heart of Oakham this year!

Christmas Party NightSmart casual & DJ evenings

Thursday 10th or Saturday 12th December 2009 offer a fun evening

with a DJ playing the latest music and a three course festive meal.

DJ Eddie Thompson has been spinning the tunes for over 10 years,

and plays an eclectic mix from the 70s, 80s, 90s to the latest ‘floor fillers’

which is guaranteed to get everyone on their feet dancing!

The dress code for these nights is smart casual.

Christmas Party NightSmart casual & jazz band evenings

Wednesday 16th or Thursday 17th December 2009 offer a relaxed

evening with a live jazz band and three course festive meal.

The Jazz Rats are a brilliant classic swing, jazz, and Latin band

fronted by charismatic vocalist and pianist Jason Ashworth.

They will be playing a mix of laid-back jazz and later in the evening a set

including Rat Pack, Swing and Latin numbers to fill the dance floor.

Expect numbers by Harry Connick Jr, Michael Buble, Jamie Cullum,

Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Chet Baker and many more.

The dress code will be smart casual.

Friday 18th or Saturday 19th December 2009 offer a premier, up-market and

black tie experience with a four course festive meal, live band and fun casino*

to try your luck at.

Shine (live band) are an exciting five-piece party-pop band sporting a superb

blend of musical quality and entertainment.

Shine, who played last year for Silver Sky Events, are back for an encore

performance after winning rave reviews from a number of guests and will

add to the sparkle of the two black tie evenings.

Shine play a variety of the latest hits from top bands such as Razorlight, The Killers,

Kaiserchiefs, Snow Patrol, Take That, Amy Winehouse and Foo Fighters. They will

also take you on a walk down memory lane by playing a number of classic hits from

U2, Bon Jovi, The Jam, Erasure and Queen amongst many more.

The dress code will be black tie.

New Year’s Eve at the Victoria Hall 2009 will see a ‘Big Band’ black tie evening

and promises to be one of the most talked about New Year’s Eve parties of 2009!

Upon arrival guests will be greeted with a champagne reception and string duet.

Party-goers will then be able to indulge their appetite with a sumptuous

four course meal, where our chef will use the finest locally sourced

Rutland produce and ingredients.

Our nine-piece big band (The Pocket Big Band) consists of a male and female

vocalist. They will play two 45 minute sets, a classic swing and Rat Pack set then

later in the evening a final set of great party music from the 70s, 80s and 90s

to take us through into the New Year in style and on a party high!
