Introducing your Summer 2015 Summer Coordinator
Welcome everyone ,
My name is Kelsey Henderson and I am very excited to be this summer’s Seniors
Coordinator for the Town of Riverview . I have been working hard over the last few
weeks planning some fun and exciting activities for us to do over the next few months.
As far as the activities go, I made sure to keep some old favourites, but also made sure
to include some new ones for us to try.
With that being said, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you . Feel free to
contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have. It’s going to be a great
summer. You won’t want to miss a minute of it; so don’t forget to register for the
events that catch your eye!

Technology Tuesdays
When: Tuesdays 10 a.m.
Where: Riverview Public
Library (30 Honour House Court)
Description: Computers and tablets can be difficult to navigate, let us help! We have one-on-one assistance from one of our “technology geniuses”. Sessions must be booked 1 day in advance by calling 387-2061 or drop into Parks & Recreation Office (55 Biggs Drive). Space is limited!
We will begin taking appointments Monday, June 1.
**Please note: no Tech Tuesday on June 30**

Description: The River Striders is
a free-drop-in walking program! A
great way to stay physically active
and have tons of fun doing it! Join
us and be IN MOTION!!
Summer Events in the Community
Sunfest: June 27-July 1: A variety of activities are scheduled for annual
SUNFEST leading up to Canada Day. Go to www.townofriverview.ca. click on
“Things to do” -> “Events & Festivals” -> “SUNFEST” to see the event schedule.
Movies in the Park, Every Second Friday: Movies will be held at Caseley
Park starting on June 27at dusk. There will be a canteen on site, and FREE
popcorn!!! Be sure to bring your bug spray, lawn chair, and blankets to enjoy these
movies with friends and family. Rain location is Riverview Community Hall
(145A Lakeside Dr. at 7 p.m.).
Concerts in the Park: Wednesdays: Come out to Caseley Park every
Wednesday evening starting July 8 to enjoy some local talent! Rain location is the
Riverview Community Hall (145A Lakeside Dr. from 7-8 p.m.).

Mark your calendars for the these mystery day adventure
trips! While I can’t tell you where we’re going, I can give
you some hints! In the past we’ve made trips to the Bottle
Houses in Prince Edward Island, Tall Ships Festival in
Halifax, Broadleaf Guest Ranch in Hopewell, Aquarium in
St. Andrews and other exciting Atlantic locations!
The Dates of Our Mystery Trips Are:
Friday, July 3: 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
Friday, July 17: 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Active Walking
Friday July 31: 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
Friday August 14: 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Active Walking
*You must register for theses trips because there is limited space!*
Registration fee is $35.00 + meals for each trip
Registration is May 28 from 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the Parks &
Recreation Office, 55 Biggs Drive.
If you miss this date, do not fret! You can register late by coming down
to the office between 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. or give us a call!

There is nothing like sitting outside on a beautiful
day, enjoying the sun, chatting with friends, and
indulging in a ice cold beverage. Join us on
Wednesdays at noon in various parks and restaurants for great
conversation & summer relaxation!

a team of 4 together or sign up as an individual.
Team organizing & warm-up is 9:00 a.m. and the
tournament starts at 9:30 a.m. Prizes to be won!

The Silver Café is a recreation program for 60+ adults living or
visiting in the tri-community area. Come to one activity or come to
all- each of the activities are designed for beginners! Please note that for some activities,
there is a limited space and a nominal registration fee.

South West River in Miramichi. You’ll get
wet so wear your bathing suits. If you
aren’t a strong swimmer, it is encouraged
you bring a life jacket. There are limited
life jackets on site. Canteen on site for
lunch. There is a limit of 18 seats.

There will be two card parties held at the Riverview Community Hall this summer! A
variety of games can be accommodated. Tea, coffee and heathy snacks will be provided:

Let's warm up for the Sunfest Wii bowling tournament with some real bowling The fee will
be 8$ per person, which includes your bowling shoes and the opportunity to play 2 strings
of bowling

Where: Parklane Bowling Centre (28 Biggs Drive)
Cost: $8 a person
Victoria Park Arts and Crafts Fair
Come on out for an afternoon at the annual arts and crafts fair in Victoria Park. What a great
opportunity this would be to pick up some unique gifts for you or your loved one!
When: Friday, August 7 from 1 -3 p.m.
Where: Meet at the entrance to Victoria Park, Moncton
Cost : $4 entrance fee + any purchases
Homestead Brunch It’s almost the end of the summer, so lets share some stories and laughs over a group lunch
at the Homestead Restaurant on Coverdale Rd.
