SWIMMING PROGRAM Please not that our annual swimming program will commence on Monday 28th May and run for four consecutive days until Thursday 31st May.

We had to re-arrange the last session on Friday 1st June as a double session on Thursday 31st May, so that we did not have a clash with the Vic Opera excursion on Friday 1st June.

Our community raffle tickets were sent home

this week. Remember that all proceeds from the

tickets sales go to the school.

Hughes News Digital Technologies Level 4/5/6 continued with their surveys. They collected, sorted, represented and analysed their data in Excel. All students were introduced to Edison the robot. They programmed the robot using barcodes. Below is a photo of Edison line tracking.

German The junior students followed written German instructions to create a house using shapes and lines in Word. The senior class completed their houses. Both classes were introduced to the poem Hänsel and Gretel and learnt some German grammar. Students tasted authentic ‘Pfefferkuchen.’ Grade 1-3 students created an edelweiss hat.

Literacy Circles This week students responded to the books they read. One group baked two cakes and then the class voted for the one they liked the best. The other group created a cybersafety movie, cybersafety poster and comic strip.

Lemon Cake created by Alexander and Hannah which won with 20 votes. Abbey, Danielle and Tara’s Chocolate Cake received 18 votes. A very close competition. Ben, Justin and Adam created a Cybersafety video.

Nick created a comic strip about Cybersafety.

NAPLAN 2018 Well done to all our grade3 and 5 students for completing their National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy tesing last week.
