Her success belies the fact that the highlyaccomplished Mirzoian, who entered the realestate world in 1984 at the suggestion of afriend (and while still employed as ProductionCoordinator for high-profile publicationsArchitectural Digest and Bon Appetit), wasinitially reluctant to commit to it as a career.However, when her short-lived marriageended and not being one to believe in sobstories she decided to take her destiny into herown hands.

Despite her initial misgivings, in her first three

months working at the Hollywood Hills officeof Fred Sands Realty, she was able to sell overone million dollars, and by year’s end hadtopped out at over five million in sales.Accorded the company’s coveted Rookie of theYear Award, Mirzoian was able to purchase herfirst home in Beverly Hills. “No money down,”she laughs. More success and more accoladesfollowed, and Mirzoian soon found herselfappointed Associate Manager for first theSunset Blvd. Office, and in turn the company’sBeverly Hills Branch. By 1997 she was ready tomove on, and signed on as Manager forRE/MAX’s Beverly Hills office, where she wasresponsible for recruiting and training its initialten-person team. “It was a great time. agents,” Mirzoian says. After ten years of TopProducer status at that office, during which timeshe had also obtained her General Contractor’slicense, she formed her own Property Devel-opment company, Mirzo International, Inc., andlaunched Green Properties (one of the earliestfull-service real estate ventures devotedprimarily to providing clients with eco-friendlyliving environments) before recently joiningforces with Gotham.

Mirzoian, who says that “real estate gave mewings to fly,” is passionate about helpingothers in difficult financial or emotional straitsfind success. “I am living proof that you cantransform your life, overcome your challenges,

and build your perfect life—nomatter what the obstacles are,” shesays. Through her 2002 book“Jump Start Your Life: 7 Steps toWaking up from The Sleep-Walking Mode,” and via herwebsite and in-demand world-widespeaking engagements designed toempower attendees to “discovertheir strengths and then cultivatethem. My book and my seminarsare about empowerment andmotivation.” So too, says Mirzoian,is Gotham Properties. “For us, it’sall about finding what is unique

about your property and celebrating it, andthen marketing it that way.”

Mirzoian, a passionate humanitarian who hasfounded multiple charitable organizations(www.passionsdreams.org, which aims toprovide for Los Angeles’ homeless populationand www.passionforanimals.org, which seeksto end animal suffering due to overpopulation),knows that within her industry, she is viewed assomething of an iconoclast for her refusal tofocus solely on financial success to theexclusion of other, more life-affirming interests.Laughing, she shrugs it off: “I don’t care whatanyone says. I know I’m different, I love what Ido. I’m unique.”
