SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

OverviewThe RT Logic satID GeoSim is a geolocation simulation system that works in conjunction with the SAT Corporation satID Geolocation solution. It creates the exact real-world RF signals that a satID Geolocation System would receive from intercept sites, adding distortions or permutations that are imparted on signals as they travel to and from the satellite. This exclusive technology, in conjunction with the satID Signal Geolocation System, sharpens operator’s reaction skills to real-world threats.

Product Description The satID GeoSim is an innovative and unique product utilizing RT Logic’s precision channel simulation technology. Through a simple user interface, it enables operators to select ground locations for transmission and reception sites, choose satellites, enter antenna dish size information, and generate protected interference and reference signals. The development of satID GeoSim has resulted in an entirely new and extraordinary capability, enabling satID users to create rogue signals of interference and identify these signal locations in a simulated geolocation environment without diverting mission or commercial critical SATCOM ground equipment.

The satID GeoSim system emulates the interference and reference signals as well as other signals that are typically found on a satellite transponder. With extraordinary satellite knowledge, the engineers at RT logic have built into this system the radio frequency propagation theory needed to represent satellite orbital dynamics and atmospheric scintillation. Users need only to select which satellites, signals, and locations to mimic. The satID GeoSim can represent the satID ground location antennas pointing at any satellite pair, with the target and reference being located anywhere in the world. This allows for simulating a countless number of situations for training, practice, test, and verification.

The satID GeoSim is the first-of-its-kind geolocation test & training system for commercial and military satellite operators to aggressively protect the performance and function of critical SATCOM links.

Key Features 3 Accurately mimic satellites and satellite interference

3 Multi-channel configurable for interoperability with all existing satID systems

Powerful Benefits 3 Accelerate detection and diagnosis of SATCOM link interference

3 Save cost by training without SATCOM link utilization

3 Simulate equipment locations and signals originating anywhere in the world

3 Generate traceable and repeatable results

3 Validate new geoloaction scenarios

The RT Logic satID GeoSim mimics real world satellites in any position, in any condition, anywhere in the world.

The satID GeoSim is the first-of-its-kind geolocation test and training system, allowing commercial and military satellite operators to protect the performance and function of critical SATCOM links.

OperationTo understand the way satID GeoSim recreates the signals used in geolocation, it is helpful to review the technology utilized to locate the origin of target signals. The satID Signal Geolocation System is an accurate, fast, all-in-one solution for locating ground-to-satellite transmission sources. Powerful, flexible, and modular, satID uniquely blends complex science and algorithms with sophisticated hardware and Digital Signal Processing (DSP), resulting in an easy-to-use package for locating and identifying sources of interference due to equipment failure, operator error, intentional jamming, and unauthorized users.

As illustrated in Figure 1 and due to a variety of practical antenna and transmitter characteristics, a signal sent to the primary satellite is likely received at extremely low power levels by a nearby, secondary satellite. Similarly, reference signals from known locations as well as interfering signals (accidental or intentional) aimed at the primary satellite can also be received at the nearby secondary satellite. As a result, downlinks from both satellites carry the reference and interfering signals. This data is processed by satID to identify where on the Earth’s surface the interfering signal could have originated.

Utilizing the AGI Sytem Tool Kit (STK) software algorithms, satID GeoSim generates the signals necessary to impersonate any satellite, target, and reference in the world. By design, there is no control link between the satID GeoSim and satID Geolocation Systems. Scenarios introduced by the trainer on the satID GeoSim must be anticipated and reacted to by the satID Geolocation System operator, just as in the real world.

The satID GeoSim offers a cost efficient way for engineers and technicians to stay current and trained on satID. Additionally, satID GeoSim provides geolocation system self-test capability, assuring peak performance of vital link protection systems. satID GeoSim also serves as a robust pre-mission simulator to anticipate, plan, and design against interference scenarios.
