demonstration, students will use mirrors to observe their hand signs and then begin to

sketch them onto newsprint paper.

Day 1 - Today we are going to:

Start class by talking with peers at our table and see what we may already know about American Sign Language (ASL).

Meet back as a whole class and discuss our findings.Meet back with your group and talk about “Line” and why you think

Mrs. Frock has chosen to incorporate Sign Language fingerspelling with our unit on “Line”.

Language fingerspelling, Line, and Unity students will use colored pencils and black permanent markers to create hands, fonts and lines onto their final drawing paper.

Unity.Did you remember to include:Fingerspelling and fonts of your name?

Did you carefully use Sharpie marker to outline your work and then erase your pencil marks?

Make sure to only use colored Sharpie for your name in the typical format that we use.

Don’t forget to use colored pencil for the hands and the background. See if you can try to add tints and shades to give your hands a more realistic appeal.

Most of all – Don’t forget to have a great time while creating this awesome project!
