Emily Laura Turns 99!Join us In Celebration

As many of you know, Emily Laura, the matriarch of the Greater Detroit Jazz Society, turns 99 on Sunday, November 26. That’s going into her 100th year! Just think of all the live jazz she has witnessed in her incredible lifetime. Although we are going to have a tribute to her at our December 2 concert at Shield’s, we are having a special party for her on the date of her birthday, at Shield’s of Southfield, from 2-4 p.m. There is no charge, you’ll order your own food from the menu and we’ll have some special surprises planned. Of COURSE there will be music! Emily has asked for no gifts; however, if you would be so kind to jot down your favorite memories of time spent with her (prefer-ably on an 8x11” sheet of paper), we’ll put together a book of your memories with her. That should be quite a story! Thanks in advance, you know how Emily adores the musicians, the jazz and her friends. If you would like to come out and celebrate Emily with us, please R.S.V.P.
