Annual Reports 2013-14

It’s my great pleasure to present the Annual Report of the Department of Physical Education and

Sports on behalf of our college. For last several years we have been forming the body of Students’ Sports

Council along with Sports Council for smooth working. The Sports Council was constituted under the

Chairmanship of Hon’ble Principal Dr. B. B. Taywade and Mr. N. V. Chopade was the Secretary. The other

members of the council were Dr. V. Y. Waghale, Dr. M. S. Wankhede, Dr. P. P. Sonone Dr. P. D. Hadke,

Mr. R. N. Gosavi, Dr. D. N. Khadse, Mr. S. S. Gaharwar, Mr. R. S. Motghare, Mr. Dr. Parag Joshi, Dr. D. C.

Wankhade, Mr. S. S. Dadhe, Mr. D. R. Pathak, Dr. M. R. Tambulkar, Mr. S. M. Shambharkar, Mr. A. M.

Zanzal, Mr. K. S. Lende, Mr. V. T. Choure & Mr. J. V. Jichkar. The meetings were held on Jully 31, 2013 &

December 22, 2013 to discuss various matter related to the Sports activities during the academic session

2013-14 for smooth functioning.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED / ORGANISED:

a) Summer Coaching Camp: Every year we organize the summer coaching camp of different games for the

school & college students to create among them awareness of sports, developing the skill & advance

knowledge of games. This year the coaching camp was held between April 15 to May 15, 2013 & was

inaugurated by Dr. Sukhadev Biswas, Secretary Maharashtra Sepak Takrao and Dr. Bhelkar, was present on

the occasion. Prof. Devendra Wankhade conducted the programme & Mr. Subhash Dadhe proposed a vote

of thanks. The expert coaches gave the advance coaching to the students. Football coaching was given under

Mr. Ramesh Mandal, and Prof. Jayant Jichkar,

Yoga under Ms. Megha Shitoot & Prof.

Devendra Wankhade, Softball & Sepaktakraw

under Mr. Subhash Dadhe, Mr. Chetan

Mahadik, Amar Khandare & Mr. Pamir

Shahare. 80 students from various Schools &

Colleges participated & got benefited from this

camp. Camp was concluded on 15th

May 2013.

All the participants were given certificates and

also provided with facilities during the camp

period.

b) Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2013: Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2013

was organized between September 14 -16, 2013, for the 14th year consecutively, in which Kabaddi,

Volleyball, Cross-country (Men & Women), Football, Basketball & Cricket (Men) were included. (See a

special report)

c) Debate Competition: - Our Department and Sport

Journalist Association, Nagpur jointly organized Inter-

collegiate Debate Competition on “Stop IPL

Tournament” on 11th October 2013. Total 16 Student

participant of various colleges, the first prize of Rs.

3000 goes to Mr. Ravindra Gunde, Dhanwate National

College, Nagpur, 2nd

prize of Rs. 2250/- goes to Mr.

Rahul Bajaj, & third prize of Rs. 1500/- goes to Ms.

Aboli Nagpure. Mr. Baban Nakhale, Dr. B. S. Pande &

Mr. Sharad Thakre acted as Judges for the competition.

d) Traffic Intersection Activities:- Our Department and Petroleum Conservation Research Association has

organized Save Petrol and Diesel Project on 30 October 2013, in Lokmat, Rahate and Jel road Square, Total

80 students were participated in this Project. Dr. Devendra Wankhade, Mr. Subhash Dadhe, Mr. Ashok

Manwatkar Dy. Director, PCRA, Nagpur Mr. Rewatkar API, Dr. Bhelkar, Dr. Changole, Dr. Ukinkar, Dr.

Dhote, Prof. Gaharwar were Present.

f) Inauguration of Basketball Ground: - Inauguration of Basketball Court with flood-light took place on

14 September 2013 at the hands of Mr.

Dinanath Padole MLA South Nagpur and

Dr. B.B. Taywade Principal of our College

and all staff member were present.

e) CONDUCTED R.T.M. NAGPUR UNIVERSITY INTER-COLLEGIATE EVENTS –

i) Football (Women): R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Football Women Tournament was conducted on

September 17-19, 2013 on College Ground. Mr. Ramesh Deshmukh, Dadoji Kondeo Awardee & Handball

Coach, inaugurated tournament. 14 teams from various colleges participated in this tournament. Mr. Subash

Dadhe was in charge of this tournament.

ii) Volleyball (Men): R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Volleyball Men A-Zone Tournament was

conducted on September 21-23, 2013 at college Ground & 21 teams of various colleges participated in it.

iii) Basketball (Women): R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Basketball Women A,B,C,D-Zone

Tournament was conducted on September 20-22, 2013 and Inter Zonal Matches were conducted on September

21-22, 2013 at college Ground & 42 teams of various colleges participated in it.

iv) Kabaddi (Men): R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Volleyball Men A-Zone Tournament was

conducted on October 19-20, 2013 at college Ground & 14 teams of various colleges participated in it.

v) Cricket (Men): R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Cricket Men G1-Zone Tournament was conducted

on December 16-21, 2013 at college Ground & 13 teams of various colleges participated in it.

k) CONDUCTED DISTRICT SPORTS OFFICE TOURNAMENT -

i) Dodge-ball Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was conducted

September 17 to-20, 2013. Tournament was inaugurated by Prin. B. B. Taywade, President Nagpur District

Dodge-Ball Association & other staff members were present. Total 30 Boys & Girls teams of various

Schools from Nagpur District participated in it.

ii) Kabaddi Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO

Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was conducted

September 16 to-20, 2013. Total 30 Boys & Girls

teams of various Schools from Nagpur District

participated in it.

l) Annual Sport Meet: On the 115th Birth Anniversary

of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, the founder of Shri. Annual Sports Meet 2013

Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, our department

organized the Inter-class Volleyball, Cricket, Kabaddi,

Yogasana and Athletics (100 mtr. Running, Long Jump

& Shot-put) competitions on December 24-25, 2013.

n) Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test: As per University Ordinance every year our

Department conduct the Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test for the college Students (under

graduate). The medical examination was held on January 08 -12, 2014 under medical officer Dr. Avinash

Gawande, Dr. Anil Chiwhane & Dr. Anjali Chiwhane. Physical efficiency test took place between Jan. 21 to

30, 2013. For these activities external were Prof. Megha Shootut, Prof. R. Y. Deshmukh. This year the same

activity took place. The statistical reports of this test were submitted to the R.T.M. Nagpur University,

Nagpur on 31st Jan.2014

FACILITIES PROVIDED: We provide following facilities to students, staff and local people:

a) Modern Fitness Centre: For college students & Sports Persons, college renovated the gymnasium and

Modern Fitness Centre. In this Centre new advance fitness equipment like motorize trade mile,

electronic cycle, massager & other fitness equipments are available. Monthly 200 students are benefited

by the Gym.

b) Ground Facilities: Basketball Court with Flood Light, Football, and Cricket ground with Turf Wicket

(Vasant Nagar), Volleyball, Korfball, Netball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho grounds & Table Tennis & Yogasana

Hall etc.

c) Grass Football Ground: The Sprinkler is set on the football ground with Flood Light under CPE

Grants & ground is made green by developing a lawn & growing gross on it.

d) We provide training for various games equipments for the various games, Uniforms & Shoes,

concession for outstation tournament, refreshment and daily allowances during tournaments etc.

e) University Blazer: College sheared Rs. /- as the cost of blazer for players.

PARTICIPATION: College teams participated in University and other intercollegiate tournaments:

a) Nagpur University Intercollegiate tournament: Total 31 Men & 11 Women College teams participated

in University tournament i.e. Athletics, Ball-Badminton, Cross-Country, Half Marathon, Handball, Netball,

Softball, Korfball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Yogasana, Judo, Wrestling (Men and Women)

Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Rifle Shooting, Water polo, Power-Lifting

and Swimming in Men section.

b) Other Tournament: Our college teams participated in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2013-

Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cross-Country (Men & Women), Basketball, Football, and Cricket (Men). Krik-Mania

Cricket-2013-14 Vijay Cricket league org. by VMIT, VCA Cricket tournament. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar

College of Law Inter-collegiate Cricket Tournament , Hislop College Inter-collegiate football Tournament

& V.C.A District and Dayanand Arya Kanya College Yogasana Women Tournament etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS: We put efforts to train our players at least one month before the respective games &

sports so that they may be well trained to win a name & fame for themselves as well as for college. This is

our pride privilege that Cross-country & Athletics-Women, Yogasana - Men team emerged championship in

RTM Nagpur University Tournaments. We won the General Championship, in both University Athletics

1. Cross-Country: This Year, men Cross-Country

Championship in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava

2013 was won by our team. Ku. Rohini Raut, got the 1st Place

position and the other members of the teams were Manisha

Wankhede. Ku. Rohini Raut, Ku. Monika Raut were selected in

University team & participated in All India Intervarsity Cross-

country held at Nagpur. Both sisters Ku. Rohini & Ku. Monika

Raut participated in International Marathon held at Mouritious

on June 24, 2012. Ku. Rohini Raut got the 3rd

place in

international level held on 02 Nov.2012 was held at Pune.

2. Yogasana: Our college Men team got the Championship consecutively third year and women team was

runners up in RTM Nagpur University Inter-collegiate

Yogasana Competition for third time. Mr. Rahul

Darapurkar and Mr. Rahul Begde Secured 1st & 2

nd place

respectively & were selected in Nagpur Uni. Team for the

All India Yogasana Competition Mr. Prashant Buwade,

Nilesh Thakre, Mr. Sagar Kawde & Atish Rangari were

the members of men team & Ku. Dhanshri Raut, Ku.

Kalyani Thakur and Ku. Sneha Deshmukh, Ku. Sarika,

Ashavini Chande and Ku. Trupti Rindhe were the

member of women’s team. All Boys and Girls showed

skills and good performance in the competition.

3. Volleyball: Our college team got the Championship in

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava, Shivaji

Olympiad, Amravati and third place in University

Intercollegiate Volleyball tournament. Mr. Aniket Sakale

was selected for the University team and participated in the

All India Intervarsity Tournament held & Maharashtra

State Krida Mahotsava 2013. Other team members are

Mahesh Thorat, Abhijeet More, Rohit Chidam, Aniket

Sagle & Yadav Yeole.

4. Cricket: Our Cricket team was Runners up in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Cricket Tournament. The team

members were Nikhil Magar, Nayan Kale, Shubham

Rode, Gaitam Vaidhya, Kisan Yadao, Tushar Dehankar,

Swapnil Bhishikar, Ashish Kolte, Abhishekh Karambe,

Ashish Rathi, Amol Dhakne & Venketesh Bhande.

5. Athletics: R T M Nagpur University Annual Athletic

meet. Ku. Rohini Raut secured first in half marathon,

1000 & 5000 Mts. Running, Ku. Abilasha Pantwane first

place in 100 & 200 mt. sprint. Ku. Rohini Raut got the

best Athlete Award in R. T. M. Nagpur University. Rohini

& Abilasha from our team were selected for the

University team & Participated in the Maharashtra State

Krida Mahotsava 2013 & All India Intervarsity Tournament.

In 4 X 400 & 4 X 100 Mts. relay our team secured third place in the Athletics Meet.

7. Badminton: on 10-13 Oct. 2013, our college Badminton team Participated 2nd

Inter club House

badminton Championship 2013, and team got the 2nd

place in this tournament.

8. Shivaji Olympiad:- Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati organized “Shivaji

Olympiad” on 20-22 Dec. 2013. Our college Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Kabaddi, Athletics

teams participated in this event. Our college Volleyball team got the Championship in Shivaji Olympiad

Mahotsava 2013. The team members were Mrudul D. Meshram, Vedant A. Thaore, Rohit Laxman Chidam, Aniket Rajendra Sagle, Mayur Sudhakar Ingole, Sunny S. Mohile, Rajat R. Chandpurkar.

Our college Basketball, Football, Softball, Netball, Handball, Ball-badminton, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Chess,

Wrestling, Power lifting, Boxing, Judo, Swimming, Sepaktakraw & Karate teams participated in various

tournaments and performed very well. Some of the players were selected for Interuniversity, State &

National competitions.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Our Junior college teams participated in the various inter-collegiate tournaments i.e.

Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Dodge ball, Softball, Badminton, Cricket, Baseball, Football,

Malkhamb, Wrestling, Taykan-do, Fencing, Marshal Art and Athletics. In this tournament the following

teams performed very well.

1. Kabadi & Cricket: Our Boys Kabadi were Runners up in City level U/19 interschool tournament of

Zilla Parishad.Shubham palkar selected for Kabadi Division Tournament.and Cricket team were Runners up

in City level U/19 interschool tournament of Zilla Parishad. Mr. shubham zende are selected for Cricket

State Selection trials held at akola . selected school National Indor 27janwari to 1feb 2014 at indoor

2. Netball and Throw-ball: Our College girls Netball & Throwball team participated & were Runner-Up in

District Level Tournament. Miss. Kalyani Sarode and Komal Hirwani showed very good performance in the

Match and both were selected for state selection trial, which was held at Aurangabad. Miss. Kalyani Sarode

was selected in Maharashtra team and participated in 31st Netball School National Tournament, which was

held at Tirupati, Andra Pradesh.

3. Boxing - In 64 kg. Wt group Mr. Naresh Kumar

Gangwar and in 55K.g. Wt. group Mr. Mayur

Karnewar were winners in District level Boxing

Tournament and both were selected for Division

4. Athletics: Our team participated in DSO district

level Athletics Tournament.

5. Fancing:- Mr. Amit Bhagat Student of Jr. College got the 2nd

Place in state level tournament held at

6. Carram - In Carram Mr. Alpesh Sahare and Mr. Vrushabh Sakhare winner in District level and

Divisional level tournament and both are participated the State level tournament held at Usmanabad

7. Handball: Our College girls team was runner in District level tournament shubhangi shende seleted

Mahila national team

8. Badminton: Our College boys team was runner in District level tournament Kushal R. Raut Dhawal

are participate in District level tournament

Kushalrao Gedam, Shri Wankhede, Shri Tale, Shri Vishal Muttemwar, Under the chairmanship of Shri.

Vasantrao Charjan, Vice-president of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. The construction work of

this UGC funded indoor Stadium is going to be completed with the amount of Rs. 50 lakhs donated by Mr.

Vilas Muttemwar from his MP fund.

FELICITATION: On the Occasion of College teacher felicitation programme all the prize winners in the

sport activities for the session 2013-14, who represented the Inter University, National, State, Ranji

Competitions & secured positions in University Tournament, were felicitated and presented with the track-

suits, mementoes & certificates on prize Distribution ceremony held on 29th April 2014. On this occasion

Prin. Dr. B. B. Taywade presided over the function.
