ORAL HYGIENE DAYOral Hygiene Day was celebrated at Samruddhi Gurukul School, Vidyagiri, Bagalkot. All the IDA office bearers were participated in the event. A free dental checkup and preventive pro-gram was organized. Free tooth paste and tooth brush were distributed to the students. All teachers were edu-cated for common oral diseases and their prevention and management.

CDE PROGRAMMEA CDE Program was conducted by IDA Bagalkot branch on 1st December 2013. The guest lectures were delivered by eminent speakers on topics “Radiological techniques and safety measures in clinical practice” by Dr. Ajith Dinkar professor and Head, Department Oral Medicine and Radiology, Government Dental College, Goa and “Regenerative medicine and its appli-cation in clinical practice” by Dr. Manjunath N. M. Assistant professor MVZ medical college and Hospital, Hoskote, Bangalore The program was attended by a total 120 delegates including all the IDA members of Bagalkot branch, post graduate students, house surgeons and private practitioners in and around Bagalkot. Dr. Shrinivas S. Vanaki, Principal P.M.N.M. Dental College & Hospital graced the occasion as a president of this event. Dr. R. S. Dr. Chaitanya Uppin presented a case report of Seckel Syndrome in the same CDE programme.

Staff and postgraduate students attended the 35th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry held from 26th-28th September, 2013 in Jaipur. Dr. Shruti Devakar, Dr. Chaitanya Uppin, Dr. Sawinderjit Saini and Dr. Ashwini Korlahalli participat-ed in the scientific paper presentation and Dr. Hiranmayi Brid presented a poster in this conference.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH DENTISTRYWorld AIDS day was celebrated in association with Department of Public Health Dentistry, Indian Dental Association Bagalkot branch and NSS unit. Public awareness rally was organized as a part of it. Slogans were raised by interns and students to spread the awareness about prevention and control of AIDS.

Free dental checkups and treatment camps were con-ducted at Ilkal, Vidyagiri, Bilagi, Bagalkot, Jamkhandi, Guledgudd and Mareguddi.

New Alumni BodyNew office bearers of the Alumni Association were elected during II General Body meeting.
