Integration Decision
Siebel CRM, ERM, Marketing Analytics
– Opportunities, Customers, Contacts, Quoting, etc.
Large EBS implementation, firm go-live date, May 1, 2008
– Multiple teams, coordination between nearly all of the company
– Successful implementation
Phase one did not include Siebel integration
– Siebel 7.8 upgrade (necessary to support integration).– Project Milestone - Fall 2007– Resource Constraints
– AIA Siebel CRM Pack for Oracle EBS– AIA availability - July 2008
Options:
1. Manual Processes
2. "Homegrown" Integration
3. Siebel/Oracle Integration with Business Connectors
4. AIA Integration
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Option 1: Manual Processes
Pros– Low impact on overall implementation schedule
– Design of interface could then be done later
Cons– Duplicated effort
– Entry of orders, customers
– Risk of inconsistent data
– Cumbersome to find information in two systems
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Option 2: "Homegrown" Integration
Pros– Control of design and interface points
– Leverage existing technology - EIM, other
– Experience in-house
Cons– Proprietary design, maintained by precious few
– Maintenance would be required for any Oracle/Siebel upgrades
– Reliance on quick integration could thwart support for complete integration project, such as AIA
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Option 3: Siebel/Oracle Integration w/ Business Connectors
Pros– Connectors have been in existence since early 2000s, Stable
– Talent in-house
– Quick to deploy
Cons– Not upgraded with Oracle products
– Would require maintenance for upgrades
– Older technology– Throwaway system/interface?
– Not as complete as the AIA integration
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Option 4: AIA Integration
Pros– Leverages SOA/Fusion technology
– Allows for the most complete integration of Oracle EBS and Siebel CRM
– Leverages Oracle's knowledge of apps for integration
– Existing in-house application for repetitive billings (RPTS) can be integrated due to SOA Suite's extensibility
Cons– Choosing AIA meant Manual Integration for Phase I of ERP
Project (for May 1, 2008)
– OOB connectors, pre-built, will they fit ScriptPro's business processes?
– On the "Cutting Edge", ahead of the curve
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Decision: AIA Integration
Implementation of AIA will be a project involving all functional users of Oracle Order Management
AIA made sense for ScriptPro's ERP long-term strategy
ScriptPro's overall integration strategy supported by SOA technology– Business process driven vs. data element driven
AIA is part of Oracle's long-term technology direction
Single point of vendor support for AIA
ScriptPro – IS Applications
IS Applications © 2005 ScriptPro LLC
Challenges - Current Manual Processes
Double Entry of Sales Orders– International orders in MAS200 system
– International subsidiaries will be added in 2009
– Updates to Siebel done after shipment, not real-time
– Manual scrutiny, daily, to keep Sales Orders in sync
– "Swivel-Chair" Integration
Double Entry of Customers– Customer cleanup effort before go-live
– Manual effort to keep customers in sync after creation
Configured Products– Options set in Siebel as attributes when Siebel order created
– Order is created in Oracle Order Management
– Items are configured with Order Management Configurator– Inconsistent terminology between systems

Reactive
Involves printing of Order Comparison Report after orders are in both systems
Potential Errors
Due to multiple touch points of every order in both systems
Inaccurate data could cause shipment delays, or service delays
Additional FTE just for matching orders between systems
Entry time for Siebel/Oracle orders at least doubled
Not a real-time interface between systems
– Timing issues for support calls

– AIA/PIP designed for customers with Oracle EBS prior to Siebel
Technology New to ScriptPro– BPEL/SOA toolsets require specialized skills
– Implement/Deploy– Support for the long-term– RARE Skills
– New lingo for working with toolsets
Support for Bugs– Working with SRs to get issues resolved
– Oracle support has been responsive to our needs

– Domain Value Maps (DVMs)– Changes in business processes– Changes to BPEL packages
– Define development items– Deliver To Functionality (Siebel/Oracle)– Order Type/Price List Linkage (Siebel/Oracle)– Multi-Org Considerations, Present and Future
– Begin development and configuration . . .
