INTRODUCTIONSince its inception, the FBI Testing Protocol for hand-gun ammunition has become the standard by which many law enforcement agencies across the nation evaluate service handgun ammunition performance. In publishing the Rifle Data Book, Federal Cartridge again proved to be the industry leader in testing. We tested Tactical® TRU® and Tactical Bonded law enforce-ment rifle ammunition utiliz-ing these recognizable testing standards to provide evidence of their performance. Now, we apply the same concept to Law Enforcement shotshell ammunition.With the introduction of FLITECONTROL® Buckshot and TruBall® Slugs, shotshell technology entered the 21st Century. As the leader in manufacturing law enforce-ment shotshell ammunition, Federal Cartridge recognized that these technological innovations and increased performance characteristics necessitated additional test-ing beyond pattern density and accuracy. It is for this reason the Shotshell Data Book was created.
