FISH TANK

Tracking shot, this is a character based drama, so we want to see every movement of the main character. We have a lot of tracking shots in our film, the main one as the camera follows him to get the gun, which will eventually lead to someone's death.

KIDULTHOOD

Point of view shot, of the two main characters. This is effective as it gives the audience the feeling of being there. In our point of view shot he gets given a gun and then the next point of view shot is the camera looking down the barrel of the gun.

KIDULTHOOD

A straight cut in between scenes with distortion. It makes seem things chaotic and out of control. This fits the genre of the film because the lives of the character are often fast paced and chaotic.

KIDULTHOOD

Mid shot but purpose of the shot to get a better look at the room. Shows the emptiness of his surroundings and look at his environment. This might also connote that’s how he feels deep down and maybe the gun is the only thing that takes him out his poverty stricken surroundings.

LOOKING FOR ERIC

Mid shot, this shot is meant to represent the barrier between the outside world and his posh house. Social realism film usually involves the rich and poverty, and the poor usually stealing and breaking into things.

LOOKING FOR ERIC

This shot highlights the difference between them, even though they share the same first name. this shot shows us that that the real Eric wants to be like the footballer same pose and collar up, a signature look by Eric cantona.

LOOKING FOR ERIC

This shot shows us the poverty they live in while they all pray for better things. Social realism films tend to send messages of hope to the audience. And these character are all hoping of better things in life.
