Short Biography

Nikolai Popov was born in town Belebei, Republic of Bashkortostan. He is the

winner of national and international competitions.

Works of Popov are performed both in Russia and abroad (Spain, Italy, Portugal,

Norway, Ukraine, USA, Czech Republic) and at such festivals as "Other Space",

"New Music Festival of Milan Conservatory", "Venice Biennale", "International

Festival of Classical Ballet after Rudolf Nureyev", Festival of Electroacoustic Music

"EMUfest" in Rome, "New Music, New Reality", "Moscow Autumn", "Percussion

days of Mark Pekarskiy", "Exposition XXI", "Creative Youth of Moscow

Conservatory", "Europe-Asia", "International MolOt- festival''.

His music was performed by such performers as the Prague Philharmonic Symphony

Orchestra, Symphonic orchestra of the "New Opera Theater", Symphony Orchestra

"Russian Philharmony", Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra

of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ural Academic Symphony

Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra "Arpeggione", "Studio for New Music Ensemble" ,

"Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble ", Ensemble "ALTER EGO", Ensemble

"EX NOVO", GAM-ensemble, Percussion Ensemble of Mark Pekarskiy, String

quartet "Cantando", Tatyana Grindenko and ensemble "Opus posth" and others.

Nikolay is a member of the Union of Composers of Moscow and the Russian

Federation.
