ConnectorTASK 1: Use the primary
colours from your oil pastels to run them over the top of each other to
blend the colours.
TASK 2: Take 1 colour and use
black and white to lighten and darken the colour through the same blending
technique.
Learning Objective:• ALL will use oil pastels to add colour to their
shoe drawing from last lesson.
• MOST will use 2 colours to blend over one another to blend colours and create new colours.
• SOME will use their markmaking and tone with the colours.

What order are the colours beingused and why?
Oil Pastels
Colour Stages-Oil Pastels1) Softly use the side of your oil pastel to get the base
colour of the shoe in.
2) Softly run 2 colours over the top of each other to blend them.
3) Use the corner of the oil pastel to colour near the edges of the outline for more control.
4) To create a lighter colour you can blend in white OR e.g. for a lighter green you can use more yellow than blue to lighten it.
5) To create a darker colour you can blend in black OR e.g. for a darker green you can use more blue than yellow to darken it.
6) Use the corner of the oil pastel to add in the markmaking and detail.
