Our production facilities

Jos America, as unique developer and producer in the Netherlands,

has advanced production facilities. Machines are constructed in

close cooperation with the designers. This enables a fast response

to new developments and -if necessary- adjustments to production

processes.

On a footprint of 1800m2 in total, a metal working section, a spray

painting shop, an assembly- and repair department are located.

The spacious work places are equipped with the latest techniques

and multi-disciplinary employees work with highly ergonomic tools.

With a lot of expertise and skills the qualified employees of Jos

America are able to produce tailor made machines (‘Specials’)

according to customer’s wishes. In addition to these ‘Specials’,

Jos America started with module construction, following the

growing demand from around the world for certain products.

The increased purchases of new Flexam machines worldwide have

allowed Jos America to build up a large stock of trade-in machines.

These are modernised from ’technically OK’ to ‘completely

overhauled’ and are equipped with the latest techniques and

components, which make them meet the latest safety requirements

and regulations. The fully modernised machines with a high quality

2 component coating are offered under the name Flex-Mate.

Jos America is very conscious of the quality of all end products and

therefore keeps a close eye on the production process. This will be

optimised where ever possible. The production time of a machine

is reduced by 40% over the last years. This way we are able to

offer you our Flexam and Flex-Mate products with an optimal

price-quality ratio.

FLEXAM - our brand

Flexam (a combination of flexible service system and the

family name Jos America) is the name for all products that

Jos America since 1984 develops and manufactures in own

management. Initially these were the Flexam machines for shoe

repair, followed by developments in the field of orthopaedic

shoe techniques. For this market, Jos America introduced the

external dust extraction for connection of a series of sanding

machines. Except in the orthopaedic shoe technique this

innovation was soon also successfully applied in the shoe

repair and other fields as Prosthetics and Orthotics and the

podiatry. Products like the Flexam Vacuum 80 are a perfect

answer to the strongly increasing demand for solutions for

dust removal and noise reduction in workplaces. This system

is available in several variants in terms of capacity and size.

Today, Jos America equips complete workshops with Flexam

products as sanding and milling machines, internal and

external dust- and vapour extraction systems, flexible storage

systems and working tables worldwide; in short, the full

implementation of the whole routing process of the work

places in the footcare branches.

world maintaining their machine park. They will maintain not

only the Flexam machines but provide the same service to

all other common brands. By periodical maintenance, good

organisation and professional problem analysis, a failure usually

can be quickly remedied. So in 2012 the Jos America service

team was capable of solving 67% of the reported problems

just by telephone. In 12% of the defects a spare part could be

sent and the customer was able to replace it with help of an

instruction. The remaining 21% of the cases was resolved on

the customers site by the Jos America service team, eiteher

form the headoffice or from the distrubutors..

Service contractJos America offers its customers a service contract including

a package of standard maintenance and related spare parts per

machine category. During the same service visit also the tests

obliged by the authorities can be carried out. You will not only

enjoy the special hourly rate for service contract customers, but

also benefit from the discount on consumables and spare parts,

which are assembled during the service and are not within the

service contract.

Finally, during the service contract duration you built up an

additional return value of your machine(s); if you change a

machine with a service contract for another one within 10 years,

this replacement value can be up to 10% on top of the regular

The Flexam Master 115 is an all-in-one finisher with a cutting,

sanding, naumkeag and polishing section. It is a Flexam machine

produced in larger series by Jos America and since its introduction

has become the best selling product and successful for export.

Apart from the shoe repair shops with limited space also the

larger shops value the compact construction, the uniform working

method, the reliability and the favorable price level of this machine.

The Master 115 can be ergonomically installed in 2 axis heights.

De Flexam City is the default for new shopping centers, where a

diversity of services is offered. The dust extraction of this machine

consists of vacuum technique, with high quality Flexam V80 filters,

and guarantees a thorough extraction result. The integrated dust

extraction is extremely quiet and available in 2 different sizes,

which makes the machine suitable for most areas. The Flexam

City is easy and quick to maintain from the front side. With a large

number of options, including sensor-controlled valves, you can

personalize the machine as needed. In the Flexam City Powerline

Flexam product range

The most optimal repair press is the Flexam Super Classic version

with separate heel press. It is equipped with pressure rod lock and

a separate filling of the cushion for perfect results, which no longer

have to be reprocessed. The press time can be set on variable

automatic or continuously. The pressure can be arranged without

adjusting the pressure reducer. The Flexam Super Classic herewith

values for you speed and perfection. The press product range of

Jos America is completed with a Trumpf press and the Power press

which is equipped with a foam cushion.

The shoe repair market is developing strongly. After years of biting

dust, the shoe repair professional can experience circumstances

in the workplace have improved substancially. Inefficient separate

pseudo solutions make way for a strong tendency to deal with

dust- and sound problems in a central way.

The repair machines are being connected to a central dust

extraction unit. But beware, not every extraction unit is suitable!

Jos America developed an effective and silent solution, suitable

to exhaust the smallest dust particles, materials as well as the

smelling vapors. The machines connected to this system are

automatically activated and deactivated by sensor technique.

Thanks to solutions like these the workplace is a pleasant place

to be. Jos America has special attention for this healthy trend.

The Flexam Vakuum 80 Compact Dust extraction unit can be

placed in- or outside the workplace and produces barely 58

dB(A), a unique feature. Especially for shoe repair shops with

limited space Jos America developed the City line. Here the

vacuum extraction system with the high quality Flexam V80

filters is integrated in the machine.

It’s not you serving the machine, it’s the machine serving you!

With this thought Jos America developed the Flexam Dynamic

which is, as the name already says, fully dynamic and adjustable

to your situation, thanks to the many options. As soon as you

stop working at the machine, the sensor controlled extraction

valves will close and the extraction will stop automatically.

Furthermore Flexam Dynamic machines can be equipped with

an automatic height adjustment. This is most useful when there

are different people working at the machine and with it each of

them may easily adjust his /her ideal working height. The widia

option assures you of a long lifetime of the sanding belt with

significantly less development of smoke. The Automatic Dust

Dividing System (ADDS) builts up an air screen between the

dust development during souring and the user, so the last one

will not find himself in the dust. With the Automatic Air Clean

System (AACS), which is operated by means of a foot pedal, you

may clean your hands in a snap. These innovations enable you

to switch between your work and your customers without being

in a cloud of dust. Working fast and efficiënt meanwhile staying

representative towards your customers.

Compact finisher with cutting, scouring- naumkeag and polishing section.

De unit is fitted with cutting section with heelcutter 18mm with guide and

3 sole cutter bayonets for bayonet connection, on which also a fine heel

scouring roll with guide can be mounted. Heel cone on the bayonet left

from the scouring band. On the left side you will find the rubber/aluminium

roll 40 / 170mm for a scouring belt with a length of no less then1650mm.

On the right side a rubber/aluminium roll of either 40, 75 or 100mm wide

roll, free of choice, with a diameter of 170mm for a scouring belt with a

length of 1650mm. In the topcenter is a naumkeag motor with a naumkeag

bayonet 90mm. There above is a storage rack and two LED lights for a

good view on your work. On the right side of the machine you will find

a triple polishing unit with 3 clothing discs and 3 high quality horse hair

brushes.

The Master 115B has a powerful and low noise dust extraction system

inside, which is connected to the A-Class anti static Flexam filter unit. The

machine is to be cleaned easily via the front side. On the scouring motor

two low noise antistatic rolls are mounted, which reduces scouring noises

significantly.

The machine has optimal dimensions, enough free space between both

scouring rolls as well as enough free space between the right band and the

polishing section. Equipped with 5 easy to use switches with indicator and

security switch. Thanks to the 10cm high floor structure, that is included

with each machine, the machine can be made higher and lower. It enables

the user to adapt to the best ergonomic working position, related to his

body length. This machine meets with the latest European health and safety

instructions as well as CE.

Press for all kind of shoe repairs, for pressing new soles and heels after

glueing.

This press is equiped with a extra high V-arm (usable height 46 cm instead

of 33cm) which makes it much easier to put high boots (without damaging

the shaft) on the press. Both cushions can be exchanged rapidly by a push

aside system.

The cushion for soles contains liquid to have the best press results.

The press works with SMC (Smart Pressure Control) which allows you

to work faster and easier.

Behind the door the compressor unit is built in.

This popular shoe repair work unit contains a repair press and a finisher.

The cutting section contains a heel cutter, sole cutters on bayonets and a

heel cone on bayonet as well as 2 scouring long size belts. The one on the

left is 40mm wide and 1650mm long, the one on the right you can choose

a width of 40, 75 and 100mm. On the scouring motor two low noise Flexam

antistatic rolls are mounted, which reduces scouring noises significantly.

There is a naumkeag motor with a naumkeag bayonet with diameter 90mm

and on the right side you will find the triple polishing unit.

Modern repair press for sole and heel repair, with extra long V-arm (= RS).

The sole press cushion can easily be switched with the slide to the heel

press cushion. The press is easy to operate thanks to the smart pressure

control. Wide choice of press plates available. Easy, fast and safe control

unit conform CE regulations. Should be connected to a compressor unit

min. 10 Atm. Standard colour Ral 7035 lichtgrey, optional in any colour

available.

The sole press cushion has air pressure inside, instead of liquid. On the

right side of the Flexam SCL-I 65 a separate heel press is mounted.

(the SCL-II 85 is equipped with two separate heel presses). So both heels

and soles can be pressed separately, in order to speed up the repairing

process. The sole press is controlled by a electronic device for full control

of the pressing time, easy to operate. The heel press is controlled by

the unique smart-pressure-control handle, for easy control of the right

pressure. Less use of compressed air because of fixation of pressure axe

All Flexam dust extraction systems are developed

and produced in own factory by Jos America

Machines BV. Most new developments that

are carried through by the R&D department are

fed by our customers, new filter technologies

and the most recent environment and safety

norms. To carry through adjustments and

new developments on products, numerous

measurements are done either on location

or on in-house test machinery equipment.

In the orthopaedic industry developments are

a continuous process. This also means that

the materials used in the industry are subject

to change. The contemporary materials behave

differently after processing regarding particle size and

staticity, therefore the filtering process has to be adjusted.

Apart from filter technology, there is also much attention

spent to the sound aspects and aerodynamics, for which the

newest software programs are being used.

The purpose of adequate dust extraction systems is on one hand

the fulfilment of the requirements for a modern workshop, set by the

government and European standards and on the other hand a good working

dust extraction system will have a positive effect on the production process.

The removal of pollution at the place where the operation is performed will

have a positive effect on the employee(s) and it will take less time to clean

the workshop in which the machines being used. This is the most important

advantage that can be gained. An improvement of the atmospheric

conditions in the workshop will have a positive effect on the health of the

employees and will realize a decline of absence through illness.

This Flexam Vakuum 80 Compact dust extraction system produces below

an unbelievable 58 db(A)so it can be installed in the workshop itself or

anywhere else in the building without any problem. The volume of the dust

extraction system automatically adapts to the need in the workshop, so

it saves energy each day. Jos

America especially developed a

succesful dual filtering system,

which filters even all dangerous

micro particles out of the air.

machines are equipped with

automatic sensor operated dust

valves, you will experience a

very low noise level and a very

low dust level in the workshop.

All for your health’s sake.

This Flexam V80 HC Avantage SR produces an amazingly low noiselevel,

so it can be installed anywhere in the building without any problem, even

next to the machine itself. Because all FLEXAM machines are equipped with

automatic operated dust valves, you will experience a very heigh effective

dust extraction in the shop. As well as a low noise level, which is also

important because you have to communicate with your customers.

A pressure system for filtering is certainly a good solution, but a choice for a

vacuum system will deliver a higher efficiency and cleaner air. Jos America’s

engineers have developed the Flexam City Line in case space is an issue.

This machine line has quickly grown into one of the most successful

machine series. The success is easy to explain. The Flexam City V55 & V70

has all features of a large external All-in-One remote system: a vacuum

system, high efficiency ventilator, integrated noise reducer section and an air

return system with micro end filtering. The noise level is with only 59 dB (A)

extremely low, which is especially important in smaller workshops. The dust

extraction unit is integrated in the machine on the right.

1 automatic height adjustability Every human body has its individual characteristics. An ergonomic

posture is essential in preventing back pains. A machine on which

you are working many hours per day, must therefore adhere to the

body instead of the other way. Flexam machines with automatic

height adjustment ensure the correct ergonomic working position.

2 LED light on each machine Good working visibility. The normal ceiling lights in a workshop usually

are not be enough for some work. Therefore the Flexam machine is

standard equipped with two adjustable LED fixtures, which give the

employee full extra light, where it is needed. As for some cutting and

sanding this is an optimal ergonomic addition. The LED fixtures are

extremely long life (> 50,000 hours) and are energy efficient.

3 central position of operating

panel

Each Flexam machine has a central operating panel, positioned above

the machine. All switches are easily accessible and due to the position

of the operating panel, an active posture is obtained. There is no risk

of incidentally operated switches. In other machines, where switches

are positioned at the side or significantly lower, this occurs frequently.

4 individual adjustable

naumkeag (bims)

On these machines, works of various sizes and shapes are done,

from small to large. The centrally positioned naumkeag (bims) is

fully adjustable, so that the employee can carry out its work in an

ergonomic way. The naumkeag (bims) can be tilted, pulled in and out,

and can be rotated.

5 floor extraction Most Flexam machines are equipped with floor dust extraction on the

left side. The employee can easily collect dust and small trash of the

floor and have it extracted by this feature. The floor dust extraction is

switched on-off electrically. The employee does not need to bend over

or crawl on the floor to keep everything clean. A clean floor prevents

tripping over and keeps the workshop clean and nice to work in. The

employee also needs less time, because the dust is collected centrally.

6 isolated machine compartment Flexam has a large motor compartment and therefore all parts are

easy accessible. More space is available for sound isolation and

absorption. This is the reason why Flexam is the most silent machine.

All sides have easy-to-clean isolation materials.

7 aerodynamic low noise dust

extraction channels

The Flexam dust extraction channels are specially designed to

combine a low noise level and a high extraction efficiency. Due to

smartly designed air conduction, the air resistance is up to 40%

lower than normal.

8 avoiding sizzling valves Each Flexam machine is equipped with a full automatic valve system,

which is pneumatically operated. The round valves have a strong

rubber layer to ensure solid and tight closing. Annoying sizzling

noises are avoided. For proper operation of the valves, the air

cylinders need to be placed in a clean-air and easy accessible

compartment. Jos America is the only producer who has achieved

this. The operating cylinders are located outside of the valve

compartment and thus outside the dust area. All parts and

operating elements are accessible from the front.

9 avoiding resonances The motor frame of a Flexam is mounted using anti-vibration rubbers,

just like a motor in a car, and thus separated from the chassis.

Thanks to this construction, the machine is guaranteed vibration

free and does not need to be placed on any kind of vibration rubbers.

Annoying vibrations, often felt by neighbours, are being avoided.

10 clean and cooled motors Flexam motors are dust free and are designed for their optimal heat

removal. Clean and cool motors are a priority condition for a long-time

smooth and maintenance free functioning of the machine.

11 smooth finish - easy to clean The Flexam motor compartment contains no obstacles. It is easily

accessible for the user for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

12 cooling of engines Each machine contains multiple high power engines, which develop

the necessary heat. at the same time, the accumulation of dust and

heat inside the machine should be avoided. Flexam has a unique

extraction system inside the machine. Both dust and heat will be

removed automatically.

13 dust free switches A number of producers use operating switches that get polluted after

a while as a result of dust and glue residues. Buttons do not return in

their original position on a regular basis. This can easily cause a short

circuit. Jos America applies round, dust free switches on the Flexam

machines where the shape of their cover fully protect the switch.

Dust and glue remains cannot influence the functioning of the switch.

These high quality switches have an average lifetime of over 20 years.

Annual maintenance prevents many problems and it is important to

know beforehand under which conditions a service engineer has to

does his job. With Flexam machines, all components are accessible

from the front and therefore the machine does not have to be moved

to allow access to the rear side of the machine. Also, machines should

be built logically so that every service engineer knows how a machine

is operating.

Already in the designing process, safety of the user of the machine

has been considered of high importance. All Flexam machines are

fitted with control units, in compliance with the highest CE norms.

19 fire safety due to closed rear

side of the Flexam machine

Flexam machines have all kind of fire safety features built into the

machine. The automatic valve system ensures direct closing of air

supply, while the rear side of the machine is fully closed by means

of a metal plate. The use of a vacuum dust extraction technology

-where dust needs to follow a route through tubes before arriving in a

dust container- will ensure possible sparks to be extinguished before

reaching the dust container. Thus the chance for fire in a Flexam is

reduced to a minimum.

20 front cover with spacious

accessibility

The Flexam front lid can be fully opened so that the user has easy

access to the motor compartment. There is no danger for personal

injuries during the exchange of scouring bands. Also, when the front

lid is open, there is no power supply to the motors of the scouring

bands for obvious safety reasons.

21 dustproof switches For obvious reasons Jos America fits more expensive dust-proof

round switches, whereby the cover is formed over the switch. Dust or

glue cannot cause malfunctioning of the switch. A number of machine

producers use switches that are very easily polluted by dust or glue

and cause a malfunction. The button does not return and may be

trapped, which in turn can cause short circuits.

22 no overheated motors -

Flexam machines are equiped with thermal security switches.

If, for whatever reason, a motor is tends to get overheated, it is

automatically disabled.

23 time saving main switch with

memory

Users may often use more motors at the same time. It is annoying,

after the machine has been switched off for a short period of time, to

switch on each individual motor one-by-one. That is the reason why

users often let their machine running. Flexam machines are equipped

with a main switch with memory.

24 correct milling posture The cutter section is -in relation to the scouring bands- comfortably

and ergonomically positioned left on the machine. It ensures good

view on the work and a correct milling posture.

25 large space behind the

The scouring belts have a lot of space directly behind the front rolls.

Important when sanding especially high lasts and bigger shoes.

The finishing of the shoe is often carried out in a single motion.

Sufficient free space underneath the sanding belts is usually required,

to sand a shoe in one motion. Because of that, you won’t have to

change your grip at the shoe. Flexam machines are developed with

high attention to detail. This makes the Flexam brand is unique

compared to many other conventional machines.

27 FREEDOM option The Flexam Freedom option allows you to work with optimal freedom

around the full wide scouring disk to be able to work with high lasts

and or high booths. This machine option is only possible on a wide

belt 100-100mm that is placed on the right side and which has a

separate scouring motor (Flexam SB105, SB125, LSB115, FSB115,

FSB130 and FSB150).

28 noiseless and antistatic

contact rolls

Jos America has developed special plastic (not rubber) motor drive

rolls for scouring belts. We combined 4 key features: anti static, high

reduction of generated heat, durability and low noise level.

30 more polishing colors A Flexam polishing machine can be equipped with different fittings:

cloth-disc for applying wax, hair brushes for a finishing shine and a

wool yarn brush for getting high-gloss. There are at least 3 Standard

colors (brown, black and neutral) needed. The Flexam polish machine

is equipped with 3 axles for those separate fittings. The color selection

is done by touch buttons, which activate an automatic color change,

so the correct color is quickly obtained. The rotating system ensures

that, with only a limited area, many fittings are available.

31 safe polishing rotation Flexam Polishing units rotate the brushes consciously upwards, so

that any risk of clamping of shoes, which are often at the front of a

machine, is prevented. Flexam has an eye for these details.

29 avoid toxic blue fumes Flexam Widia scouring rolls increase much faster scouring whilst

minimizing friction heat. Furthermore, the aluminium core of the roll

is perfect to distribute the generated friction heat to its environment.

The result is a significant reduction of burning rubber and PVC

materials, as also the annoying and unhealthy blue smoke and odor.

The Flexam dust extraction technology is characterized by its variable

volume adjustability. The generated extraction volume adjusts

automatically to the required capacity and can even be adjusted

upwards or downwards at a later time. This system ensures an

optimal balance between performance and energy consumption in

each individual workshop

33 special Flexam dust filters After careful research, Jos America has developed an optimal dust

filter, which is completely adapted to the used materials in the

orthopaedic (shoe) industry. The filters can be characterized by an

antistatic layer, optimal filtering, thorough cleaning and therefore

Invisible fine dust and the invisible micro particles are the greatest

risk to health. The finest particles penetrate deepest into the lungs

and can cause greatest damage. Flexam can be fitted with a second

absolute filter, to avoid these small dust particles to return into the

workshop. These filters may not be cleaned, but will have to be

replaced after about 5 years.

Employees normally hate cleaning the machine. Thanks to the central

collection of the dust, no dust is spilled when changing plastic dust

bag. Due to the construction and the simplified handling, changing the

plastic dust bag can be done within 30 seconds. Staff will therefore

take care of this equipment much better and has more time for actual

production.

extraction capacity

The desired higher dust extraction volume from the extraction unit

should be facilitated by properly positioned and designed extraction

channels on the machine. For that reason the Flexam machines

are fitted with extra large double dust extraction channels below

and behind the scouring bands and bayonet fittings. The higher

dust extraction volume, at constant dust extraction speed, has the

advantage that less noise is produced. Employees simply prefer a

strong powerful suction which nevertheless produces little noise.

directly below the scouring band. This channel has a high level of

effectiveness with cleaning the scouring band which runs close to

the dust extraction channel.

dividing system

Above a scouring band an air outlet is placed, that blows downwards

on the workpiece / hands, like an air curtain. Because of this air

curtain, the operator will work much cleaner: the dust particles are

simply separated. The dust separation curtain automatically starts and

stops when the sensor is activated. ADDS - automatic dust dividing

system.

system with footswitch

After you have been working, you can press a footswitch to clean

your work and hands. Also the dust extraction valve opens and closes

automatically as long as you press the footswitch.

Employees focus on production and will often not bother to manually

disrupted. Thanks to the Flexam sensor technology the machine is

Most dust around the naumkeag (bims) is thrown to the right.

Therefore the dust extraction of the naumkeag has been extended

to the right and aerodynamically optimized. The dust extraction is

therefore mostly concentrated on the right.

Most machines are very difficult to clean on the inside and even when

cleaned, a lot of dust comes forward and causes a bad quality of the

air inside the workshop. Flexam contains a flat and horizontal inside

instead of a tilted side. Further, inside the Flexam motor compartment,

an internal dust extraction channel has been built containing a

powerful dust extraction capacity. The internal dust extraction can be

activated while cleaning the machine and thus can this compartment

be cleaned easy, quick and efficient without dust coming into the

workshop. A clean motor compartment also means better cooling

of the motors and thus a longer life of the motors.

The most special feature of the 30 series

is the transmission foot, that can be

controlled in each direction with aid of a

wing hand. This makes it possible to repair

the shoe in any direction. Moreover, the

stitching machines of the 30 series have

a pitch length setting because of the scale

division on the transmission bar. When

applying different needle thicknesses, the

right distance is easy to adjust, because

of the lateral adjustment from the needle

holder. Using this scale division, the

yarn beam can easily be adjusted to the

different materials and yarn thicknesses,

without changing the yarn tension.

The ST 90 DUO Eco stitcher comes with 2

easy to switch horns. Horn 1 is for all your

normal insole stitching work.

Horn 2 has a different horn top, which

allows you to stitch the sides of shoes,

for example for specific sport footwear &

All ST 90 machines have a double treath

stitch and a quick bobbin release system.

The knotting of the two threads is in the

middle of the sewn material.

This professional, heavy performing

insole stitching machine is ideal for the

stitching of heavy material. The slender

high horn makes it possible to stitch on

hard-to-reach places, for example, pointed

shoes, riding boots or other long boots.

The transport foot and the stitch length

are variable adjustable. Because of the

reversibility of the horn, the stitch direction
