“My passion for art has grown with me for years. Istarted at a young age exploring different mediumsand forms of art. Painting was just a naturalprogression for me.”

A graduate of Behzad Art Institute in Tehran,Shirin at the age of 18 moved to Britain andstudied Graphic design at Bath Academy andfurther in London.Having had a multicultural life, Shirin likes toexplore and expand the feeling of time andplace; a journey through her environmentwhether domestic or political. Perhaps theseabstract planes are thoughts that are reflected inher paintings.

“In my work I seek to intrigue and to challenge theeye, to invite it to explore and discover. Depth andtexture are important elements in my work.”

With sources ranging from mystical Persian poetry, fauna of the natural world, andWestern influences in her current home city of London, Shirin creates compositionswith both historical and contemporary references.

Shirin is an artist who wears her influences visibly on her canvas melding the spirit ofthe Abstract Expressionists.

Shirin’s work is held in private collections in the UK, France and USA.
