COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY

God has planted Gospel Light in Punggol to “Go for Christ”, to demonstrate God’s love to the community. Working closely with various partners like Social Service Office@Punggol, Punggol Family Service Centre, Punggol 21 Community Club as well as Christian Community Services, we identify needs and initiate programs to meet those needs.

A befriender program will help equip Gospeliters to connect with people whom God leads us to cross paths with. We will equip our people with skills to "reach out" to the poor and needy, as well as "proclaim liberty to the captives and those who are oppressed" as in Luke 4:18.

Events like the Mid-Autumn Outreach, movie night, Chinese New Year outreach, and Adopt-a-Block will be organized to provide platforms for the community and congregation to connect. Our participation in the Punggol Racial Harmony Carnival provides the key to connect with the Punggol residents. On 18 November, the official opening of Gospel Light at Punggol and our 30th anniversary celebrations will be an opportunity to connect with community leaders.

Club39 reaches out to the youth by providing space and facilities for them to hang out. ShineKidz functions as an afterschool program for primary school kids from various schools. The Kids Bible Camp during the upcoming school holidays is an effort to bring Bible stories to the unchurched.

Also, the weekly Ping Pong ministry, Praise Exercise, Tuition, and Conversational English sessions are ground-up platforms championed by Gospeliters to draw the community into our premises. CLASSES AND TRAINING

• CHRISTIAN EDUCATION WORKSHOP – GOD AND SCIENCE People have said that Science has shown that the Bible is not true. Alternatively, people have said Faith and Science are entirely 2 different subjects altogether. However, what people have failed to see is the Bible in fact is a very remarkable book. Where the Bible has touched on Science, it has revealed information well ahead of scientific knowledge and discoveries, thereby revealing the Bible is the revelation of God who is the Creator of this universe. No registration is required for this workshop.
