Rock Springs Counselors Needed!
It’s already that time of year again! Rock
Springs 4-H Camp is just around the
corner and we need to start getting
counselors recruited. Being a camp
Counselor is a fun and rewarding
experience, but it is also an important
job. Without our camp counselors, camp
would not be a success.
Camp is June 8th—12th. Ages 14 and up
can be counselors (4-H Age).
Applications are due by March 25th and
are available online
at www.twincreeks.ksu.edu under Events
or contact the office.
Project Leaders: Adults and Youth!
The year is flying by and it is time to
begin planning and setting project
meeting dates. Inside (pg. 7 & 8) is a list
of our current project leaders. Active
project leaders should hold 2—3 project
meetings every year or meet one on one
with 4-H members who need assistance.
Please contact your fellow project
leaders to set dates and turn any April
project meeting dates into the office by
March 20th. If you are listed incorrectly,
no longer wish to be listed, or would like
to be added as project leader, please let us
know!

This year the camp is celebrating its

[email protected] Sheridan County 4-H Family March Notes
Dear Sheridan County 4-H Families,
It’s that time of year, time for County Club Days! We will be trying something new this year and will be holding our own County Club Days in Sheridan County. 4-H Council decided on this to make it easier for our members to participate and help increase participation in Club Days.
County Club Day will take place on Friday, March 20th 2015 at the Hoxie High School. Sign up will begin at 5pm and Judging will begin at 6pm. Areas in which 4-H members may be judged are in the 4-H Club Day Guidelines. For information and score sheets, please go to www.twincreeks.ksu.edu under
4-H > 4-H Forms > Club Day Resources
In addition, there will be a Life Skills Judging contest that youth may participate in which will begin at 5pm. Life Skills will have an oral reasons component this year similar to Livestock Judging at Fair. There will be 1 oral reason for Jrs and 2 oral reasons for Srs. Cloverbuds will be able to participate in Show and Tell which will take place at 6:30pm.
Your RSVP for County Club Day is due to the Twin Creeks Extension Hoxie Office no later than Friday, March 13th. For choosing which events you would like to compete in, please refer to the list of events on the enclosed County/Regional Guidelines page. Feel free to contact your local office if you have any other questions.
When you RSVP, please indicate which events your 4-H member wishes to participate in. Again this year we will utilize a rolling schedule, meaning, you will sign up for time slots when you arrive. Sign up will be open at 5:00 pm and close at 7:00pm, so please make sure you are there within this time frame. Please plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the judging time you have signed up for.
For group activities such as skits, please provide a time preference when you RSVP.
In addition, we will need door monitors and Life Skills judging graders/tabulation. We will need at least 2 door monitors (1 hour shifts) and 1 life skills tabulator (1 hour shifts) from each club. Please let the office know if you can help with this.
Again, we are looking forward to providing 4-H members with a fun and positive County Club Day judg-ing experience!
For those who make it on to Regional Club Days, it will be held at the Brewster High School at 5pm on Friday March 27th. Eligible 4-H’ers will be notified over the weekend following County Club Day, and will need to RSVP by Monday if they plan to attend.
Sincerely,
Julianne Shoup
