Founded in 1873, GLW feeds are one of the UK’s largest independent livestock and speciality feed manufacturers, specialising in compound feeds in roll, nut, pellet and meal form as well as custom meals and blends. In addition, we sell moist and dry straights together with minerals, fats, milk powders, silage additives, fertilizers and cereal seeds too.

At GLW Feeds we manufacture Sheep feeds that are designed specifi cally to enhance your current system and needs. We ensure the exact balance of nutrients to optimise your fl ocks health.

The profi tability of a sheep enterprise is highly dependant upon the numbers of lambs reared. 75% of foetal lamb growth occurs in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy, at a time when ewe appetite declines by 30%, therefore only the highest quality sources of energy and protein should be fed. This leads to much lower lamb mortality and higher birth weights and growth rates, making the busy lambing period so much more productive.

We endeavour to provide the optimum nutritional value in our products, using quality raw materials to increase the health and yield from your sheep .

Our products are designed to improve lamb survival by increasing birth-weight and colostrum uptake as well as improving resistance to disease and hypothermia. Well nourished ewes produce lambs 25% heavier at birth, and their colostrum production is increased by 100%.

This can be achieved by raising the appropriate levels of Cobalt with Vitamin B12 and raising Selenium with Vitamin E/Zinc/Iodine in diets fed to pre-lambing ewes with a balanced supply of quality protein and energy.
