I came from a smart family. My father was brilliant and creative. At a very young age he was an executive at a suc-cessful advertising agency. My mother was a model student in her school days and a gifted writer. I have six siblings, and most of them are very talented and highly intelligent.

As a young boy I remember wishing that I wasn’t smart. How strange, now that I think back to this. Who wouldn’t want to be smart? I was an “A” student from 1st grade all the way through 10th grade. I didn’t study very hard yet was able to keep good grades.

But then I got my wish. I stopped being smart. I stopped striving for accomplishment. At the age of 16 I stopped caring and stopped trying. Why? Because I looked around at the smart people in my life and decided I didn’t want to be like them. My smart father was an alcoholic. My smart mother was deep into suffering. My smart older brother hated everything. I got my wish. My grades fell into the toilet, and I didn’t want to go to college if it meant ending up like the smart people. Instead, I joined the Army at age 17 and took the first bus out of my small hometown. Perhaps, just perhaps, was there a world out there where smart didn’t mean anything, and one could actually experience life in a joyful way?

Luck (or perhaps the guiding hand of Spirit) found me the best job one could imagine in the Army. At 18 years of age I was assigned to NASA, shipped off to California in the mid-70s, had my own apartment in what is now Silicon Valley, and learned a lot in my job as a technical writer. I met a lot of people who weren’t smart by intellectual standards, but were amazing humans.

I didn’t go to college after my three years in the Army. Well, I actually did go for three days but simply could not stand the Halls of Arrogant Intelligence in the university environment. Besides, the university wanted me to take Journalism 101 after I had been writing articles for professional aeronautic magazines for 3 years.

I had no desire to be smart if it meant sacrificing common sense, compassion, heart, feelings and the simple joy of life – or having to figure it out. I landed a couple of good jobs after my honor-able discharge from the Army (including receiving the Army Commendation Award). In my early and mid 20’s, socializ-ing with business peers meant that questions of universi-ty pedigree often came up. Mouths dropped when I said I never went to college. On the surface I was slightly embar-rassed, but underneath I knew I didn’t want to be smart.

The lack of a degree came to the forefront when I was 28 years old. Linda and I were living in Texas at the time. My job as the branch manager of an Atlanta advertising agency came to an abrupt halt when our largest client, Occidental Petroleum, sold their agricul-ture division. I interviewed with the top-name ad agen-cies in Dallas. I was offered a job as Account Manager on

the prestigious Century 21 account but when I was questioned about the absence of university information on my resume the deal came to an end. What to do? I wasn’t smart enough for the big leagues so I started my own marketing consulting company. This wasn’t the smart thing to do; it was the only reasonable choice I had.

Along the way I met some people who were both smart and wise, but it’s a rare breed. Smart tends to get in the way of true wisdom. Some of the most inspiring and brilliant people I have met have not been very smart, at least not by academic standards. But they had an understanding of life in a way that mental intelligence simply couldn’t comprehend.

Have you ever tried having a conversation about Spirit or religion with a really smart person? They cite passages from books and quote lines from ancient scholars. But there’s really no conversation because they never learned to feel from their heart. Smart, yes. At least in terms of books and IQ

tests and reciting facts and figures. They learned to study for, and pass, tests. But smart about life? Not so many.

I wished I wasn’t smart, and I got exactly what I wished for. I’ve learned more in the past 15 years from 2 dead guys than from all of the books I’ve ever read and teachers that I’ve ever studied from. I’ve learned about life and creation and the grand I Am. This is what I wanted.

What I treasure in self and others is wisdom and insight, passion and com-passion, truth and integrity, creativity and freedom, awareness and a healthy dose of craziness. I value the ability to know one’s self, and follow one’s path. One can be smart and still have these attributes, but far too often I’ve seen how a person’s self-perception of high mental intelligence can be one of the biggest barriers to awareness and joy. There is little or no correlation between consciousness and intelligence. Some of the simplest people I have known have been the most conscious.

This is not about being stupid. Only the human intellect would “think” that one would be stupid if they were not smart. This is about setting aside the arrogance of the mind in order to realize there is something far more aware and conscious than intelligence. The mind would have one believe that the smart person is more capable of spiritual insights than the average person. But, as I learned from dear Adamus, at the end of the day the I AM strips away all of the facts and figures, the intellectual calculations, the power and the prowess, and distills everything into wisdom. The wisdom of life’s experiences is the sweet nectar of the soul.

I write this for any reader who shines their light less brightly because they don’t think they are smart enough. It’s for any of you who think you’re less because you weren’t at the top of your class, or don’t have a long list of credentials and titles. Count yourself fortunate because you don’t have to go through the agony of dismantling the façade of mental intelligence on your way to enlightenment. Powerful minds do not make well for enlightened souls. You’ve felt the disdain of smart people looking down their noses at you, and perhaps it’s caused you to feel smaller, weaker and perhaps inferior. But now, as we move out of the mental era of humanity, take comfort to realize that the old mental mind has had its day. Now comes the time of wisdom and knowingness. There’s no school that can teach you about this... because you already have it.

I Exist.

I Am That I Am.

I Know That I Know.

And so it is.

It began as an ordinary trip across town to visit a client. I pulled into the parking lot of the facility where she is staying, parked my car and stepped out into a flurry of activity. Where the parking lot had been calm a moment before, it was now in chaos with a flock of birds flying in panic. As a preda-tor – most likely a hawk or falcon – flew off with one of the birds I noticed that another one flew past my feet and went under my car. It all happened

so quickly I shook my head, wondering if I had really just witnessed that.

Returning about thirty minutes later I remembered that a bird had flown to safety beneath my car, so I checked to make sure it wasn’t still under there. After all it had been through, I certainly didn’t want to run over it! After checking all around the car and seeing that the bird wasn’t there, I pulled out of the parking lot and onto the street.

I hadn’t driven more than half a block when I heard the sound of scratching behind the dashboard! I immediately realized that the bird that had flown under my car was now most likely under the hood – near the engine. Fortunately, there was a gas station nearby, and I drove into the parking lot.

With only a little store and gasoline pumps at this station, there was no mechanic to help, but I knew that I couldn’t drive any further if I suspected that a bird was somehow lodged under the hood of my car.

A young man was working there, and while acknowledging that it wasn’t part of his job, I asked if he would please help me determine where this bird was. I don’t think he really believed me, but agreed to help. I opened the hood of my car and he checked all around the engine, even getting down on the ground to look under the car. There was no sign of the bird, no more scratching sounds, and at that point I was quite certain he didn’t believe me. But after I told him I would drive over to the pumps to fill up the gas tank, he said to let him know if I heard anything else. I didn’t want to get onto the busy freeway if the bird was still somewhere in my car and could possibly work its way into the interior. He assured me that there was no way that the bird could get inside my car, so not to worry about that.

All was quiet when I drove over to the pumps. It was a cold afternoon and the doors and windows of the car were closed. Standing outside my car as the gas flowed, I glanced over and saw, to my amazement, that there was now a bird insidemy car! Stunned, I ran into the store where the young man was helping a customer and said, “You know that part about how a bird can’t get into the inside of a car? Well, this one did!” Astonished, he came out to take a look.

There was a man and woman parked behind me at another pump, and her eyes were wide as she watched a bird fly around in the inside of my car. I half-kiddingly asked her if she could see a bird, and indeed she could.

As I looked at the bird I noticed that it wasn’t flying around in a panicked way. It wasn’t crashing into the windows trying to break free, but was flying

and hopping from place to place inside my car. It didn’t even leave any kind of “mess” like I thought it might.

Grabbing the door handle, I wondered what this bird would do as I opened the door. Would it be so exhausted or possibly hurt from finding its way into my car that it couldn’t fly? But there was no need to worry. As I opened the door the bird sailed off – gracefully and easily as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened.

Everyone watching wore the same puzzled look and I’m sure their faces matched my own.

This experience stayed with me for days afterwards. I wondered why. Yes, it was unusual, nothing like this had ever happened to me before and prob-ably wouldn’t ever again. But why was this event so much in my awareness?

Then it came to me, verbalized as “the path to freedom,” and an impossible one at that.

The bird, like so many of us, had chosen a path to freedom that was quite impossible. What drove it to choose such a path? This was not a small bird, one that could easily work its way from the ground, up beneath the hood, and through the workings to the interior. But who said it had to be easy?

It reminds me of our own journey. What has motivated us to choose a path with such a seemingly uncertain outcome?

I recognize myself in this story. Like that bird, I’m inside the car, only one graceful step away from freedom, just waiting for Meto open that door. It’s been an impossible path, but my freedom is just a breath away.

Music carries a timeless wisdom and for some of the greatest masters of sci-ence and mysticism, such as Pythagoras, the universe was based on musical principals; a great divine harmony or symphony of vibration. Sound reveals to us the laws of harmony. It can be charged by our intention and spirit and contains many dimensions of more subtle vibrations, an inner sacred geom-etry of all existence.

In many of the holy scriptures of mankind the infinite sound is the first expression of the divine spirit. Theom of the Vedas, the word of the Bible or the abstractsound of the Sufis symbolize that cosmic sound, the mystical key-note of the universe. This sound is the vibratory essence of the whole universe and present in every tone and being. ‘Nada Brahma’ is another Sanskrit term expressing the creative power of sound. It’s translation means “the world or creation is sound” and also “sound is the creative power” or “the world is an eternal river of energy.”

Music transmits a very clear message and can be charged with our inner state of harmony, feeling and aim. Every tone is just a vehicle that carries the

actual message given to it, an empty cup that is filled with whatever we pour into it. Every sound is charged by a certain element and it transmits that specific qual-ity. Sounds from a living source, actually played or sung tones, are always more powerful, because of being charged with pure life force. As every sound is a carrier of information, the actual frequency can be compared with a radio station, and the passion, spirit or intention given to it with the actual program.

The use of music and sound to heal and balance our-selves is very natural because we are music ourselves, made out of that same substance of vibratory energy which is connecting and holding the whole universe in manifestation. Sound reaches into all planes of our exis-tence and has the power to charge the aura of a person, tune and balance their energetic field, activate the flow of energy, pulse and blood circulation, and enter even the deepest levels of our soul. Sound evokes images…

Sound not only transmits a certain harmony but also creates movement and change on the physical level, especially within the bodily fluids. Our voice is the most living sound, there is a breath and soul behind it and that life force has creative power and far reaching effect. Thinking creates a potential reality, but expressing a thought or feeling vocally, actually saying or singing it, is definitely a further step towards manifestation. Our voice has a magnetism and atmosphere that depends on our inner state of being, and discovering our voice means discovering all the layers of our personality, becoming in touch with who we really are.

Studying some of the ancient scientists and philoso-phers, as well as the mythology of mankind, gives us clear hints about the hidden laws of the universe being musical in their essence. For some of the greatest mas-ters of philosophy, mathematics, astrology and science, such as Kepler, Plato and Pythagoras, the universe was based on harmonic laws and musical proportions. This eternal vibration is the fundamental grid and inner matrix of the universe and is always there, pulsating every moment with the creative force of life. Everything originates from that sound; the law of harmony, rhythm and proportion as well as numbers, geometry, letters, vowels, syllables and language. Even material life in its essence and truth is just energy in a certain state of vibration, manifesting in a frequency range that appears to us as solid. The world is sound!

Hans Jenny spent all his life researching vibration phenomena and summed up his studies in a wonderful work called “Cymatics.” In the 18th century Chladni was the first to give clear proof and evidence of the relationship of sound and geometric patterns. By striking a metal plate with the bow of a violin he made it vibrate. The sand on the plate started to arrange itself in geometric patterns and those patterns would change with the frequency.

Jenny expanded that research into experimenting with liquids and powders of all kind and came up with the most stunning results. Some of his pictures reveal the creative process of nature and the whole universe in a magical and unmistakable way. Sound creates the inner sacred geometry of creation and along that inner grid life unfolds, matter aligns, chemistry forms, molecules build and structures materialize based on that inner eternal harmony.

What we call music is just a small miniature picture of the much grander music of the cosmos and the knowledge and actual experience of sound is a key into the timeless mysteries of music, harmony and life. It helps us to establish a more refined tune with ourselves and the world, resonate with our true being and expressing the song of our soul.

Over the previous two articles we have defined masculine creative energy (straight lines and angles) and feminine creative energy (swirls and curves). We discussed what happens when those creative energies are out of balance with each other, when one is dominating and one is weak. Please keep in mind that we are talking about your personal creative energy here, not bodies and genders. We also talked a bit about how each one of us gets in this place of misalignment. Do take the time to read the previous articles (Part 1 & Part 2). There is much there.

When your masculine and feminine creative energies are aligned, balanced and playing well together, you are in the higher fourth dimensional state of being. As you’ve heard me say previously, we all move between the third and fourth dimensions throughout our daily life. We live in both simultane-ously. Briefly, higher vibrational words such as ease, laughter, community, co-creation, respect, admiration, appreciation, balance are experienced when we are in the fourth. Versus denser, slower experiences like competition, depres-sion, guilt, blame, victim, which are only experienced when we are in the third. In the fourth, there is no lack. There are no limitations. There are no ‘shoulds’ or ‘should nots’ and you cannot do anything “wrong” there.

When healthy masculine energy is in relationship with the healthy feminine, masculine creativity has the room and the opportunity to come up with new ideas and build new plans. He now has the motivation and drive to learn, grow and expand into new realms of possibility. Masculine feels validated and has the support to explore new structures he can build for the feminine to cre-ate within. Healthy masculine energy also loves balanced female energy and says, “How can I uplift, nurture, and provide for this feminine creativity? How can I assist her in creating her dreams? Together we can create new worlds.” This occurs within each of us individually as well as within an external relation-ship. The man builds the raised garden beds and the woman plants and tends the vegetables and herbs. I’m sure you’ve seen two (or more) people come together and do some pretty wonderful things as a team. Remember Jobs and Wozniak?

healthy masculine, it has the structure and scaffolding necessary for creativ-ity. It can easily and passionately design, plan, execute, and bring to fruition its dreams. It can fully focus on its studies and research; its writing and craft; the music and math that it loves so well. Balanced masculine energy provides structure, dependability and stability. It is reliable; there is a focus, strength, and a sense of protection for the feminine energy to experience itself safely and with permission. When feminine energy is safe and has permission, it is expansive and creative. The masculine creates a container or field that offers the feminine a dependable space to create and be happy. It is from this bal-ance of give and take that a flow unfolds. It is then that the feminine can say, “I would like a house.”

And the masculine energy smiles and says: “I can build this for you. How big and what color?”

There is then a give and take, a cooperation and co-creation. The feminine says, “What you have built is wonderful. Can we build a garden also? Is it possible to add a couple of birdhouses too? What about…?” As the feminine creates further and wider, the masculine expands the structure to make plenty of room for her swirls and curves. There is balance. There is the shared thrill of creating in passion together. As an example in my life, I happily built a trellis for Roxane, and she is happily planting pole beans.

In this higher fourth dimensional balance, this combined creative energy becomes very powerful and has the capacity to simply look at the third dimensional world and say, “I hear your opinion of me not being worthy. That is not where I choose to go. Thank you very much.” There is no discussion or negotiation. No energy is thrown and no one is invalidated. You make your choice then you dust off your sandals and set about your business, allowing that other person the room to go about theirs.

BRINGING THE MASCULINE AND FEMININE INTO ALIGNMENT

In parts 1 and 2 of this series we described four ways that the feminine and masculine are out of sync with each other and suggested you begin observing others in your world that demonstrate these aspects. This curious observation is still a good idea.

Another way to identify, experience, and begin to anchor masculine and feminine energy into your creative process is in the vibration of words.

are a simple, easy place to begin to re-wire your masculine and feminine creative energy into balance. I have given you examples of

seven powerful words, the Seven Living Words, in both audio and article archives. These words are part of your natural alignment to the love that you are – the essence of who you have always been but have turned away from because the relationship to those “out there” was more important than the relationship to the you “in here.”

So let me give you a sense of the masculine and feminine nature in these seven special words (and others). Be playful with this. There is no right or wrong way of having this experience.

Masculine words have straight lines and angles. When you become or wear that word as an energy in your space, you can get a sense of the straight lines and angles. Feminine words have curves and swirls. A word that has a mascu-line nature to it would be, for example, the word capable. So would you take a breath and feel the feeling of being Capable. Nobody’s opinion counts here but yours. Would you take a breath and feel within your body the strength of being Capable. Your body might want to sit up straight; your head may want to go back. Your shoulders may want to move back. It is a sense of “Yes, I am Capable.” Just pretend. Make it up at first if you have to. Capable, in this case, has a structure to it. It can be felt as a masculine word. Just feel its stability.

Now, would you add to Capable the vibration and feeling of being Certain about yourself. Is there anything that you do well? Can you tie your shoes? Are you Certain? Can you do it every time? Absolutely. I am Capable and Certain. Let your body be and feel these words. Let these two words create the structure or container (masculine) within which feminine creativity can experience itself. Without the structure and container, feminine words and creative energy flow out in a scattered way, with no direction. When you pour water onto a table without the benefit of a cup, you have a big mess.

wNow would you find the feeling of Ease. It is like an exhale. This word has a more feminine energy in it. Ease has no structure to it. Would you let your attention Focus (masculine) on Ease while you are being Certain and Capable. Each one of us has masculine and feminine creativity within us. Certain, Capable, Ease. Let yourself experience the feminine flow and would you not only feel Ease but would you also like yourself.

I Like Me has no boundaries, no edges, no lines and no angles. I Like Me. And now would you give yourself Permission. Permission has no lines. It is “Wow, I can do this!” You are building a container of Certain, Focus, and Capable to allow Ease and Permission to have its freedom. Now would you find another feminine word. Would you find the vibration of Kindness, which is very powerful and very feminine.

Now one last word: Would you allow Appreciation to begin to flow within your space. Allow yourself to Appreciate the Capability and Certainty that you now have Permission to experience. Allow it to be very Focused.

Another suggestion: Create lists of masculine and feminine words. Wear one of each every day. Experiment. Also, begin to play by choosing a “mas-culine” word and finding the feminine aspect of it. You might quickly recog-nize the straight lines and angles of Certainty but see if you can touch the “feminine” aspect of that word too. The feminine might hold Certainty when the row of lettuce she just planted is sure to germinate. The feminine word, Gentle, also has a masculine aspect. Like a gentle grandfather, holding the infant. Get the picture?

You might also become aware in your daily life of how you create. Begin to consciously, intentionally incorporate both feminine and masculine creativ-ity. For example: If you have a big project at work, say designing a new mar-keting campaign, it is important to understand the budget you have to work within and what online ads cost. It is also important to understand the limitations and size/color specifica-tions required for online advertis-ing. If you instead simply rushed into designing ads (feminine), with-out the understanding and structure (masculine) of the system you might have a beautiful but useless piece of advertising. Create the structure or foundation first, and then happily create within it.

You are powerful. You are big. You are significant. You have never been small and you have always been the little child who was Capable and tal-ented with Certainty and Ease. You just simply let a grown-up talk you out of it for a moment and now that moment is over. Right now you are Certain and Capable and Focused. You are in Appreciation, Permission and Ease again. “I like me” – just like you did as that little child.

As you balance this masculine and feminine creative energy and begin to choose which to use in each situation, the world around you will change significantly. It is all about you. FROM THE ZONE By John McCurdy – Awakening Zone Coordinator

Last month I wrote about recognizing the difference between my soul, or I Am, identity and the human identity that I kept trying to fix and bolster, and about making the choice to allow my soul to be fully in the driver’s seat of my life. The two months since that choice have been an amazing whirlwind of magic and graceful flow: Travelling across the northern Unites States when the landscape was arrayed in the most amazing early summer beauty; magi-cal visits with friends and family along the way; three weeks in Oregon with Toby the cat, while my body took advantage of the time and safe space to do some needed rewiring; co-teaching a beautiful Sexual Energies School in Utah and arriving in Colorado just in time for the August Shoud and the long anticipated Abundance Clinic. At first I wondered if I would stay in Colorado for a while, but my soul was very clear: There’saspecialexperiencewaitingforusinSantaFe,andthenit’sbacktoOregontobeginanewphaseofourlife.

After the Abundance Clinic I came to Santa Fe, and the very next day was invited to do a presentation on self-love at a joint meeting of two men’s groups. I was surprised, but my soul was not! On the day of the presentation I cancelled my other appointments and spent the whole day writing and pre-paring, only to throw it all away in the end because I realized it was mental and had nothing to do with the evening. “Okay Soul,” I said, “this is your show and I need you to be here!” Of course I needn’t have worried, and though I showed up with no notes and no support materials of any kind, my soul turned it into one of the most magical evenings I’ve experienced. The perfect words and questions were there when I needed them, the discussion flowed deep and beautiful, and every man present was deeply touched and went home with a whole new perspective of himself to consider.

It’s an amazing thing to consciously live with my soul in the driver’s seat, but it doesn’t mean that I disappear. The other day I had to make a choice between staying here for another week and heading off to Oregon right away. There were pros and cons both ways and my soul didn’t have an opinion, for either way would be full of life. It said, “Just make a choice!” So I chose to

give my human some much needed time to be still and to catch up on some things, and next week I’ll be on my way to find out what this “new phase of my life” looks like.

Letting my soul drive is about making peace with the unknown, for my mind seldom knows what’s going to happen next. But it’s not about going too far and mak-ing myself a victim of that, for I almost always can feel the direction I’m going. I seldom know how things will work out but I do know that they will, and I have to make choices from that place of knowing instead of falling into the paralysis of “I don’t know.” Lately my mantra has become, “It’smysoul’sshownow!” And my soul smiles and says, “Thank you for trusting me John, but don’t forget that this is really our show, and that is where the real magic is!”

Ah, yes, and it’s not even a show and it’s not even “us.” It is simply, IEXIST!

When I decided to ask Rupert Davis for an interview I had no idea how perfectly his wisdom would fit with my own topic for this month. But Rupert has been conscious-

ly Living andCreating withSoul for a lot longer than he’s been hosting his show of the same name on the Awakening Zone, and the following inter-view contains the wisdom of a true Living Master:

WhatledyoutobeahostontheAwakeningZone?

I found the Crimson Circle in 2002 in a magical encoun-ter with someone, and since then I’ve been to so many events, schools and conferences that Geoff and Linda Hoppe and lots of other Shaumbra have become dear friends. Back in January Marisa Calvi invited me onto her show to talk about self-love and about the way I do my photography, which is a very soul-led creation for me. It was a real gift to be on her show, because it got me to

reflect on lots of things beforehand. Things like how far I’ve come and the journey I’ve had along the way and all of the courage it has taken. It helped me to have a whole new appreciation for myself and my journey, and that was such a gift. After the show a lot of people were talking about how much they liked it, and a number of people said, “You should have your own show!”

So I emailed Geoff Hoppe and said, “I want to do a show that’s very real, that’s focused on how people are living with their soul. Not the theories of how one might do it, but how people are actually doing it and what they’re creating and experiencing with their soul, in their lives and in their journey of integration.” So that was how I got started with my show.

Whatisyourshowabout?

It’s about the practical experience, and the demon-stration, of people living and creating with their soul. I wanted people to know what it is like for those of us who have chosen – and that’s all it is, a choice – to be led by Soul, to be filled with our soul – not replaced, just filled with the love of our soul so that human and soul are walking together through life as a divine human. I’m very aware that it’s my soul that wants to do the show and I’m just saying yes. I do some heartfelt preparation and reflection before each show, and my soul really creates the space and also co-creates it with the guest and with the listeners.

Whatisyourfavoritepartofhostingyourshow?

It’s really difficult to choose a favorite thing! One thing is the breathing that I do each time. I love that, and I’m really letting my soul and my passion come straight through and do that breathing and bring the words. And I love listening to my guest. I really listen to the guest at a deep level, and I like meeting them there in a very clear and deep space and listening to what they’re saying. It is a really special experience when two or more souls get together and can just be together in a very authentic space.

Howdoyoufeelyou’vechangedasaresultofhost-ingyourshow?

I’ve learned more about just being present with some-one, which I think is the most beautiful thing in any rela-tionship. Being present means I’ve got a clear mind and I’m not running through a hundred things in my head. It

I felt out of balance I could just pick up a camera and take literally just one picture and I would immediately start to feel like I was rebalancing. That is a benefit of letting your soul express itself through you: whatever’s going on gets shifted, released, and rebalanced.

A few years later a Shaumbra asked if I would offer a workshop on how I do my photography. I hadn’t thought about doing anything like that, but within two to three days I had written down the entire content of the work-shop, which I call ‘Authentic Creativity.’ It was so funny to do that, because in those two to three days soul was telling me all the things I had done very differently, which I didn’t know that I had. You see, the difference between mind-led and soul-led creating is that you often don’t know what you’re doing because it’s not going through the mind. You just do it, and then you look back and go, “Wow, how did that happen? How did I do that?” I ran my first Authentic Creativity workshop at the Quantum Leap event in Taos.

By that stage I was having exhibitions in New York and it had all become much bigger, but all along the way my soul led. Every step. There were a lot of different decisions to make: Where do I print my pictures? What size and format? What do I want to do with them? Do I want to go and sell them to shops? Do I want to have an exhibition in this gallery? There was so much, and I kept everything soul-led. In allowing my soul to come into my photography it opened the door and I fell in love with that feeling and experience of creating with soul because it’s just so magical, loving and fulfilling. So I then said, “Well, you’d better come and do everything else with me in life because it’s so much better than the alternative of a mind-filled job or a mind-filled relationship or a mind-filled whatever!”

I didn’t think about it, but I naturally started inviting my soul into absolutely everything. And then one day my soul really surprised me by saying, “Now we’re going to go and work in business again.” I never expected that. I just thought I’d keep doing the photography and end up traveling the world doing workshops, but Soul stopped me and said, “We’re going to go and work in business now.” I love sharing about this because we have such an idea of what a spiritual life is, and one thing I know is that my soul isn’t interested in a spiritual life. It’s really interested in living and it has no judgments, but it’s just totally not interested in what people think of as a spiritual

means I’m very aware, open, safe and honoring with this other person. Experiencing this in the shows has deep-ened my capacity to be like that outside the show. The other area of change has been about just saying yes to something. I didn’t know how I was going to do it, I didn’t know any of the details, I just could feel a yes in me to do it and so I said yes. Now I’m learning by doing and expe-riencing it, and it has opened up lots of other potentials. I’m seeing that by saying yes in one area of life things open up in other areas, because that’s the way life works.

Whatkindofexperiencedoyouwantyourlistenerstohave?

I would love for people to feel that space that I and we create in the show, a space that is truly filled with soul through a body, through people, and that’s clear and safe and also very deep and still. I want them to walk into that space if they choose, and I think that’s why we don’t have many questions. People are just sitting and absorb-ing everything this space has to offer them. That’s what we all do in this space of truth and compassion, for it’s so blissful that we just go into receiving. I want to present an opportunity for people to really feel their soul, to receive the love of their soul and to deepen their embodiment and connection with their soul. And some people tell me that they hear things from their soul in that space.

Tellusaboutyourphotographyandotherwork

The photography started when I left my job, left my apartment and sold my stuff, which I just felt to do, and it left this great big vacuum in my life. My life was empty! But what it did was kind of pull the rug out from under my mind, which meant that I was able to really hear, to sense and to know, what my soul wanted to tell me. I was walking away from everything that was mind-led, and therefore it was like turning the dial to a different station – my soul station – so I could hear.

Very soon after doing that I heard, “Buy a camera!” and it repeated and just wouldn’t stop. When I say ‘heard’ it’s just a word – I really sensed it, but it was so strong I could kind of hear it. So I went and bought a disposable cam-era, and from the very beginning whenever I picked up a camera I simply let my soul take the picture, without even knowing I was doing that. It was my form of channeling really, but that can be a bit of a misleading word. It was me opening and letting my soul express itself, and I didn’t realize that was how I took pictures. But I did notice that if

life. It doesn’t even have a view on old energy and new energy. It’s just living! Most people would have been really surprised that my soul wanted to go work in an office, but that’s what she wanted to do and I said yes, partly because I really wanted money again. But having established such a strong soul connection I was also a bit scared that I would lose it. And then, as I walked to my first interview I felt so much love from my soul that I knew we’d never be separated again. That has given me such freedom to just enjoy life!

I manage big change projects for large banks and it is a totally different experience from the business work I did before. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like a great gift to me. It’s a mechanism for me to receive, and it’s not a drudgery – I don’t drag myself to work, I love it and honor it. Like all of life it has some mundane and sometimes frustrating moments and challenges, but by and large it’s filled with the same magic and creativity as my photography and I get to really interact with people, which in a more spiri-tual life I wasn’t getting so much of. Photography opened the door, and now my soul just fills everything.

That your soul loves you so much and is only waiting for you to choose – if you want to, and it’s okay if you don’t – to live and create with it as great partners in this lifetime. OFF THE AIR:AWAKENING ZONE TO CEASE OPERATIONS

After nearly four years of operations, the Crimson Circle staff has made the very difficult decision to discontinue the Awakening Zone Radio Network on December 31, 2014. The Awakening Zone has been a joy in so many ways, and a service to awakening humans around the world. We had nearly 1 million listeners per year tuning into profound and amazing shows.

There are several reasons for making the decision to cancel the Awakening Zone:

1. Since the first of this year Adamus Saint-Germain has been taking the Crimson Circle in new directions. Our focus and passion is working with humans who are consciously choosing embodied enlightenment, while the Awakening Zone had a broader focus of working with awakening humans. We found it difficult to divide our resources between the two, and ulti-mately decided to focus on the core Crimson Circle work.

2. The cost of operating the Awakening Zone was significant. It took sub-stantial people and financial resources to manage 60 shows a month, plus the backbone support with customer service, the AZ website, tech support and network management.

3. Our new broadcast studio in Louisville, Colorado also had a large influ-ence on this decision. From the new Crimson Circle Connection Center we are able to connect with our audience around the world at almost a moment’s notice, using a high-tech HD video format rather than phone lines and slow Internet.

We’ll continue to operate the Awakening Zone until the end of the year. You will be able to download and archive your favorite episodes between now and then. Note that downloads and archives will not be available after December 31, 2014.

We appreciate your support of the Awakening Zone and the many won-derful hosts. It was a good run for all of us, but now it’s time to move on.

SHAUMBRA HEARTBEAT By Jean Tinder, Shaumbra Magazine editor, Crimson Circle Teacher

A few days ago I took my kids to the local water park. It is a huge attraction with all sorts of slides and rides and pools and adventures – and thousands of people! It was the last big day of the summer season and everyone was there to have fun. My son and his friend went off to explore, but my daughter had only one interest – the wave pool. She’d been there before with friends and wasn’t interested in anything else. So off we went.

She’d told me about it before but I didn’t really understand the appeal. You’re in a pool, with waves. What’s so exciting about that? Well, I was soon to find out.

The wave pool is very large. One end slopes gently into the water, eventu-ally going out to probably 10 feet (3 meters) deep. Every fifteen minutes or so a buzzer sounds, hundreds of people scream in excitement, and the fun begins. The water draws down a little as the first wave gathers, and then for several minutes it is one huge crashing wave after another.

Some people ride the waves on tubes, others just play in the water; but one thing is certain – the waves are relentless! It’s hard to swim, or even to simply float, so you just manage as best you can. And then, when you feel you just can’t handle any more waves, they finally stop for a while. The water calms, you can get out if needed, move around a bit, catch your breath and gather your wits before it starts all over again.

This is what Taryn and I did for three hours. I felt like a waterlogged rat by the time we were done. My eyes burned from the chlorinated water, my knees were sore from jumping to meet the oncoming waves, my sunglasses flung away and broken, and my sinuses had been pressure washed way too many times. And yet, what amazing funit had been!

My water nymph daughter loved every minute of it, jumping into the waves, diving beneath them, even trying to body surf them – over and over again. Sometimes she would find a handle on the side of the pool and pretend she was holding on for dear life. Sometimes she would “forget” a wave was com-

ing, just to get tumbled around in the water. Her enthusiasm and joy was infectious.

At some point, managing the waves as best I could and watch-ing her delight in the storm, it dawned on me how very much this wave pool was like life, especially right now.

Here we are, having dived into Earth for a grand experience, and at the moment it seems the wave pool is the only attraction. Wave after wave of chaos pummels us. We struggle to stay afloat, catch our breath and, even more futile, keep heading for some goal we thought we wanted. But getting to something or somewhere else while the waves are rolling is lit-erally next to impossible, not to mention quite frustrating. The best we can do is keep our head up, allow the storm, and maybe even have a bit of fun with it.

In that pool I learned a few ways to deal with the oncoming waves, but the worst was being unpre-pared. Having a huge wave smash into you can send you reeling, gasping for breath, and with hardly enough time to recover before the next one. It was more helpful to watch for the next wave, pick just the right moment and jump straight up. That way my head would remain (mostly) above water and it was easier to keep my balance as the wave passed. Or, I could dive into the water as it surged up in front of me, close my eyes and allow it to wash over me. But then the trick was coming back up in time to prepare for the next one! There were countless times when I was distracted with wiping my eyes and catching my breath just to have the next wave knock me back down. Ignorance was not really the best tactic!

It also made a difference where I stood in the pool. Some places were extremely intense and the combination of waves and undertow pushed me out toward the deep end. Then I’d have to struggle hard to swim back, or just wait it out. In some places the water churned into frothy whitecaps, other

places it was a little calmer, and everywhere was the potential to crash into other swimmers. And yet, everyone was actually having fun.

Interestingly, the last several days my life have felt similar with a series of unexpected events – family situations, tough work decisions, meetings and deadlines, personal challenges and more – all rolling in one after another. In fact a few days ago I got home, walked in the door, took a deep breath, and said out loud, “Okay, I’m ready for the next crisis.” As if on cue the phone rang with the next crisis. My son was impressed – “Geez, mom. Wow!”

Fortunately my recent experience in the wave pool has been a very good reminder – ride the waves, keep breathing and don’t worry about your “plans.” It will all work out. And sure enough, everything has unfolded as if choreographed by a brilliant (if slightly insane) director. People arrived after fourteen-hour drives within sixty seconds of the (newly scheduled) perfect time, potentially challenging events unfolded with ease and grace, and I (more or less) managed to keep my sanity through the waves of chaos. And then, they stopped. There was a bit of reprieve. I know they’ll start up again, and the “water” of my reality is still pretty choppy, but I’ve set a great stan-dard for myself of how to handle it.

I have a feeling that for all of us the next few months and years are going to be like that wave pool; a huge consciousness storm sending wave after wave of chaos right at us. Sure, we could get out and go lay in the sun in some other realm, but this is why we came here! For my daughter, the dozens of other rides at the water park didn’t even exist. She was there for the wave pool, no matter how crazy it got. And here we are in our own “consciousness wave pool.” The screaming has commenced, the waves have started, and now we get to deal with them however we choose.

In a slightly twisted way, the intense chaos around me has been a bit exhila-rating, as if I was challenging myself – “Can you handle this, on top of that? And how about this too?” I could let the waves knock me over in frustration, or I could jump and float and dive, come up for air and keep going. In fact, it has been those deep breaths that have saved me.

When there’s a moment of respite, whether at bedtime, driving in the car or whatever, I’ve found that I am right there the moment I take a breath. My Self is right here with me, the connection sweeter, the joy deeper than ever. My soul lovesthe ride! She feels my trust, and in the chaos she somehow comes even closer. Instead of letting it push me further from myself, I relax, allow and meet Meright here. In the split second of calm before the next wave, I take a breath and am engulfed by love. Because of that, even at its most chaotic, life has never, ever been sweeter.

I hope you too can ride the waves in this crazy pool of life. They’ll calm down eventually, but in the meantime take a breath with your Self, then dive in and enjoy the soggy exuberance of the ride. We’re all in it together!
