Sharp Copier/MFP User/Account Control Set-Up Procedure

(Numbers Only)

This procedure will cover the following models: MX-3070N, 3570N, & 4070N color MFPs.

(***The complete set-up procedure will be performed via the machine’s webpage. You will need the IP address/network address of your machine to access the webpage. If you do not know the IP address of your

machine, see the IP Address Handout for instructions***)

1. Open a web browser on your computer. Your Sharp copier/MFP’s webpage is accessible using any web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome) In the address line at the top of your browser, enter the IP address of your machine (see the example below) and then click the Enter key on your computer’s keyboard.

2. At this point the machine’s webpage will open. (see the example on the next page)

3. At the top of the screen, click on the User Control tab and open the User Control menu. (see the example below)

4. The User Control menu will open. (see the image below)

5. Click on the Default Settings button and open the Default Settings menu. (see example below)

6. The Login screen will open. You will login as the Administrator. The password is admin (lower case). (see the example below)

7. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of User Authentication and select Enable. Click on the radio button next to Authenticate a User by User Number Only. (see the example below)

8. Click the Submit button to save the changes. (see the example below)

9. At this point you are ready to enter your Users or Account information. In the menu on the left, click on the User List button. (see the example below)

10. The Administrator Login page will open. Click on the Administrator Login button and login as the administrator. The password is admin (lower case).

11. The User List menu will now open. (see the example on the next page)

12. To add a user, click on the Add button at the bottom of the main screen directly below the Default User List and User List sections. (see the example below)

13. The User Registration screen will now open. Enter the user/account name in the User Name box and enter the user number in the User Number box. Click the Submit (or Submit and Register Next if you are entering more than one user) to save the user. (see the example below)

14. The new user will be displayed in the lower section of the User List. (see example below) This

completes the procedure.
