Between the Tin Hau temple and Yau Ma Tei Car park, there are laid out some special trader, it is Cantonese opera. There is a unique singing style that the singer is singing some old Cantonese song on the street. They are not really busking, but mostly the audience can join together. People can pick up the microphone singing in the street or you can just enjoy the show on the street.
There are 5 existing Opena-air Cantonese opera performance around the Tin Hau temple. There are only one trader is still have Erhu live band, two trader is play keyboard and other two is computer player. There are around 20 people in each trader, also the target group in usually is th elocal older resident.
The Cantonese opera is agging by modern forms and songs, in Hong Kong there are less young people learn and inheritance it. This also is the important cultural value of Hong Kong.

The design aims to preserve the street culture of Hong Kong and to promote the Cantonese street opera culture and other styles of informal performance. It extends the performance space of Temple Street to the upper levels whilst preserving the original street passage at the ground level. Indoor programmes are surrounded by the extended performance spaces.
