WHY?

THE IMPORTANCE OF COST SHARING

HOW TO SELECT TECHNOLOGY• Understand your

technology needs and budget.

• Identify potential partnering agencies (who have similarities and budget and technology needs)?

• Work with committee/cost sharing partners to identify shared goals.

• Identify external funding sources (grants, donations, etc.)

USER GROUP MEETINGS

Each agency appoint liaison

Feedback regarding project

Solicit ideas and suggestions

Discuss finance and expenditures

Project Manager should lead the meeting

USER AGREEMENTSSpell out the project along with the technology involved.

Costs per agency and formula

Same agreement given to each agency to review and sign.

Each agency passes resolution to join the project.

DATA SHARINGUsing record management or other technology to

share data between agencies.

DATA SHARING AGREEMENTDocument that each agency reviews and signs authorizing the sharing of

their data.

Capabilities should also be available to each agency to omit selected data to share.

Auditing functions should be part of the project to insure security and compliance with laws and procedures.
