Sandboxed solutions, while still powerful, impose limitations which can stymie traditional SharePoint developers. To add to the challenge, today’s SharePoint users want more from their applications, both in terms of functionality and the overall user experience. At the same time, CIOs and CTOs want to get more "bang for their buck," spending less to accomplish more. In this session, we will discuss the latest developments with the alternative development approach that the instructor calls the SharePoint's Middle Tier. This includes HTML, XSL/XML, JavaScript/jQuery, Data View Web Parts (DVWPs), SharePoint’s SOAP (XML) Web Services and more. The techniques are sometimes called "no code."
