Newsletter STAR is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization Winter 2018
Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding receives a $50,000 grant from the
Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program. The official check presentation was Jan. 26th with Walmart management, Lenoir City dignitaries and STAR representatives including Honey and Flash attending. For STAR this donation is a “game-changer” and will be utilized at the Loudon and Knox County locations. It will help pay for Americans with Disabilities Act com-pliance, staffing, rider sponsorships and equipment. This fund will truly help so we can get up and running at South Knoxville and serve more people, that’s the goal!
“STAR is one of our most recognized organizations in the community, and we love how they benefit our friends and families.” said Tammy Lane, Walmart representative. “The Walmart Foundation gave this grant to STAR, because Walmart gives back to the community. That’s our thing.”
