The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years.
Huangpu River is 114 kilometers (71 miles) long, 400 meters wide and has an average depth of nine meters (30 feet)
Nanjing Road
China's premier shopping street, 3.4-mile-long Nanjing Road, starts at the Bund.
After the Opium War (1839-1842) and the Treaty of Nanjing in 1842, Shanghai became a treaty port.
Nanjing Road was first the British Concession, then the International Settlement.
Yuyuan Gardens
Yuyuan occupies an area of two hectares (5 acres) .
Each pavilion, hall, stone and stream in the garden expresses the essence of South China's landscape design from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
There are more than 40 scenic spots scattered throughout the garden.
