WHO IS SHAKESPEARE
• English poet, playwright, and actor.
• The greatest writer in the English language
• Also called as England's national poet
• Born in 26 April 1564

• Brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, hence called “Bard of Avon”.
• Wrote about 38 plays, 154 sonnets(poems of 14lines), two long narrative poems etc .
• Famous for blank verses, worldly quotes and contributions to English vocabulary.

LIFE AND CAREER • Married Anne Hathaway and had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith.
• Between 1585 and 1592,began a successful career in London as an actor, writer and poet
• Owned a theatre the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men.
• He was back to Stratford around 1613, at age 49, where he died three years later in 23 April 1616.
