Q. So, you don't have a particular philosophy as an entrepreneur?

Sept15 2012

A. I just feel a lot of good ownership with what I produce and what I do. It's

like going door-to-door and asking people, listen, would you like to just taste

this, say, new sweet dish I've made? If more people like it, nice. If they

don't, do not get bogged down by the negation. Just apologize to them from

your heart and tell yourself to try harder the next time.

A. I am very fortunate to have good people in my team who love me a lot. I am indeed blessed that I have the amazing undying loyalty of the people around me. And you cannot have any alternative to that. My people believe in me and they always go that extra mile for me. They are there for me at all times. I tell them if money is not coming in I will just go and dance at a few more weddings and get the money flowing in. What is money? I never had much money. I came to Mumbai with just Rs 1,500 and the Videocon TV my mother gave me before she died. I had nothing else. At the end of the day, whatever you take away from me, you will still leave me with much more than what I came with. If you can say the same thing about yourself, then you are a big businessman too. But if you take away that Rs 1,500 and myVideocon TV, then there is cause for concern. But, so far, so good.

You said that brands and brand ambassadors share a symbiotic relationship. What happens when you as a brand ambassador is targeted for anger against a brand, or the other

way around?

At a macro level, if it is legal, there is nothing wrong in doing it. I think that if any company or product puts a face on their business, such as Tag Heuer, for example, which is more than 100 years old, it is a big risk. If someone says, let’s take a face and make our whole company work towards this man’s face, then it is a big honour. And yes, I have been picked on for doing certain ads, like the one I did for a fairness brand.

Any tips for CEOs and CMOs reading this? First, keep it extremely simple. Your business or product can be extremely complicated to make, but it should work simply. Like mobile phones. Second, don’t get into a business if you don’t have the passion for it. Third, there are people who sell off their businesses —I don’t understand that. You live with the business and you die with it. If it’s done well, you should be feeling blessed and if it hasn’t, it should take you down... Fourth, every business has a gestation period. This is especially true for young start-ups. Just when you begin to lose hope, it will come back. Like KKR. We kept losing and now we are champions twice over. So don’t give up. Last, in business, there are only two decisions to take — you either do it or you don’t. There is no but, maybe, perhaps. If you are ready to walk away from the most lucrative deal, not because of money, but because it doesn’t feel right, you will be the greatest businessman on earth.

acronym SRK.[1] He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship.[31]

[32] They have a son Aryan (born 1997) and a daughter Suhana (born 2000).[23] In 2013, they became parents of a third child named AbRam,[33] who was born through a surrogate mother.[34] According to Khan, while he strongly believes in Islam, he also values his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.[35]

A surrogate mother is a woman who agrees to carry someone else's baby. She becomes pregnant using some form of assisted reproductive technology, frequently IVF. Thesurrogate mother carries the baby to term and gives birth, and the baby is released from the hospital to its intended parents.
