EXT. WHITE WORLD - ANY TIME

We see Greyson Wilder (16) Black hair, light brown eyes,skinny, and an all American boy standing in an empty void ofa world. All the there is to see is pure bright white inevery direction.

CUT TO

INT. GREYSONS BEDROOM - MORNING

The room is a bright white, covered with posters of acidrock bands. There are swords on the walls and a piano nextto the bed. In the left of the room sits a tall bed.

Greyson lays in bed as his alarm clock reads 5:59. It thenchanges to 6:00 and the alarm goes off.

FADE TO WHITE

EXT. WHITE WORLD - ANY TIME

Greyson is walking, when from everywhere the sound of Bachscello suite floods in. Greyson jerks his head knowing whatthis is. The ground starts to tremble till cracks start toform. Then the whole of theground under him splits open toswallow him.

HARD CUT TO


Greyson sits up in bed. He looks at his alarm going off andsilences it. After wiping away the sleep from his eyes hegets up off his bedand heads out of the room. He steps onthe tail of his cat and it runs away.

GREYSON

Listz, Im sorry buddy.

The cat just looks at him from the corner.

He continues to walk out of his room

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

he reaches the shower and turns it on.

CAMERA STAYS ON THE SHOWER TILL

We see him walk out of the shower with a towel wrappedaround his waist to the mirror and he does his hair andbrushes his teeth.

CUT TO

EXT. BATHROOM - MORNING

The door opens and Greyson comes out ready for school.

He walks down the stairs to the kitchen where he takes hisbackpack and keys, then heads for the door.

EXT. WILDER HOUSE - MORNING

Camera pans around as we go from Greyson to his car. It iscovered in frost.

GREYSON V.O.(While walking to the car)

Thats my car. That 21 year oldpiece of junk. Most kids my agewould say that Im lucky to have acar to go places, but i dont care.

It never starts in one try.

We see him trying to start the car.and once you get it to start itlets out this terrible noise.

The car sputters to life and starts reeling with noise.Basically all it does is moves,nothing else. I mean even thedefroster really doesnt work.

Greyson pulls away and starts to head down the street.

INT. GREYSONS CAR - MORNING

We see the windshield, its almost impossible to see out of.

Greyson has the windows down and is wiping the frost fromthe side mirror, but when he rolls the window up, it iscovered in frost.

He sighs and continues to drive.

The sun hits the front of the car as it peeks out frombehind acloud and we see an overview of the street he ison. Lots of carsand very few people walking.

Greyson looks at his rear-view mirror to try and make a lanechange. He squints, and while looking we see a black faceflash on the mirror.

This really doesnt phase him he just shrugs it off.

CUT TO

EXT. EXCELSIOR HIGH - MORNING

Lots of cars are pulling into the school parking lot, somedrop off their students, others park in the spaces

available. We see Greysons car pulling into a spot. Heparks. We see his door bust open, he gets out with hisbackpack and shuts his car.

steady cam from behind Greyson.

GREYSON V.O.Now, dont take this the wrong way.I mean i love school, but there isjust something about this placethat drains every student here. Allthe kids here have sleepdeprivation lined on their face.

When you enter this school youlearn a new posture. One where youare slouched over and you keep yourhead barely turned up. Lets justsay this school is intense.

School bell goes off. We see other students quickening theirpace toget to their class rooms. Greyson arrives at his andtakes his seat.

INT. MR. HOLSTS CLASSROOM - MORNING

Kids are in their seats positioned around the teacher whostands inthe middle. A few of the students have dozed off.Mr. Holst (43) mildly balding, clean shaven, and tall iscontinuing his lesson.

MR. HOLSTNow, Puritans had a belief thateveryones fate was already

Greysons hand is covering half his face. His eyes start to

flicker.

MR. HOLST CONTDThe whole Puritan society revolvedaround God and religion. Everyonein the Puritan town was seen assusceptible to sin, especiallywomen and children.

Greysons eyes shut and he is out

FADE TO WHITE

INT. CHURCH - AFTERNOON

Greyson is sitting at a piano before a rounded group ofpeople. Hetakes a breath and puts his hands to the keys. Hestarts playingChopins Fantasie Impromptu. About twentyseconds in everything goes wrong. He starts hitting all thewrong keys. He tries to save the performance but the damagehas been done.

When he looks at the piano, he can see his reflection in thepolished black surface. However, where as his face showed

worry, this face was smiling at him. Its eyes were black asthe night. In one quick moment a jet black hand shoots outfrom the piano and grabs Greysons.

HARD CUT TO


Greyson shoots up and knees his desk.

All eyes inthe class fall on him.

He looks around timid to make eye contact.

MR. HOLSTGreyson are you...

The school bell goes off. Greyson dashes for the door.

INT. HALLWAY - MORNING

Greyson is still almost sprinting to his next class.

He pulls up his sleeve to reveal a red mark on his arm inthe shape of a hand. He quickly puts his sleeve back down

He arrives at the boys locker room and goes inside.

INT. BOYS LOCKER ROOM - MORNING

Greyson is changing into his P.E. gear. We see Chase (17)Greysons best friend, Blond hair, blue eyes and a muscularbuild come up fromthe locker next to him.

CHASE(Leaning against the locker)

Hey man, whats up? I heard aboutHolsts class. You okay?

GREYSONThat happened like a minute ago,how did you hear about it?

CHASE(counting the names on hisfingers.)

Well, lets see, J.D. told Jessica,who texted it to Angela, and Angelatold Jackie who apparently is goodfriends with Ron. Ron being the

loud mouth he is told me, and nowim talking to you about it.

GREYSONYou could have just said thatsomeone told you, and yeah. Imokay. Do you know what we are doingtoday for P.E.?

CHASEDoes it matter? i mean whateversport we do, you will just findsome way to be the umpire or

referee or something.

They both laugh and head out of the locker room.

EXT. GYM - MORNING

We see Greyson and Chase walking together and talking

GREYSON V.O.So, basically if you couldnt haveguessed it already, I am a weird

kid. I mean, I am pretty normallooking, black hair, light browneyes, average height, but mypersonality is just weird.

INT. GYM - MORNING

the kids are playing basketball, we see Greyson standing onthe sidelines calling fouls and such.

GREYSON V.O. CONTD

Unlike the kids of my generation Ihate rap and love classical music,waltzing instead of grinding, andFrench cabaret music. Those are mythree main interests. Now, I donttry to hide the fact that I amweird, I embrace it. Its peoplelike me who arethe ones who causegreat change in this world, so I amjust waiting for my time. I shouldmention though that I do seethings, things that arent reallythere, like this morning, when I

saw that face in my car mirror. Oh,and, from time to time I have likeschizophrenic episodes. I get intofull blown arguments with myself inthese. Other then that, Im prettynormal.

They continue to play, Greyson gets bored and walks awayfrom the game. He heads for the door.

EXT. GYM - AFTERNOON

Greyson is walking on the ground while the sun peers outfrom a cloud. Its rays hit Greyson. We see his shadow. Itslegs unnaturally long. Greyson keeps walking and his shadowmimics his actions.

CONTINUED: 7.

As he inches closer to the bathroom we see the shadow startto move differently. Greyson notices this. He stops dead,but his shadow continues and stops a few feet away. He walksup to it.It stays there. He stoops down to get a betterlook at it. As he is examining it its hand grabs his calf.

Panic floods into Greysons eyes as his leg is pulled up tothe knee into the ground. Then his whole leg. Then both. Historso. Finally his head is submerged and the ground goesback to normal.

EXT. BLACKNESS - ANYTIME

Greyson is falling, with no end in sight.

there is one spec of white light from up above but it isblacked out.

Greyson hits the ground hard, he stays there for a fewseconds until he pushes himself up.

His eyes take in this new land scape. It looks somewhatsimilar to the normal world except there is very littlelight and an unnatural red hue is cast everywhere. Theimages around him contort themselves as if they were alive.

He is now sitting with his legs in front of him. A centipedeor some other insect looking thing walks across his legs,this makes him jumpup.

He stands up but falls to his knees, the gravity is intense

in here.

GREYSONwhere the hell am I.

VOICEIts not exactly hell, its more ofyour own personal purgatory.

Greyson turns his head to look where the voice came from. hecant see anything.

GREYSON(to himself)

This is all in my head. Im justsleeping again, all i have to do iswake up and i will be back in P.E.

Not necessarily forgotten justmore, you cant get it. You see,your shadow contains the rest ofyou. We have the rest of your mind.Thats how i can get into yourdreams.

back-story first.

DAMIENThere are two ways to access therest of the potential of your mind.One is you take mind altering drugslike the Beatles, The Doors, andall those other bands. Thats howthey became so good.

Damien holds out his own hand and Greyson grips it.

DAMIENOkay, its your command boss.

Damien phases into a black doorway. Light streams out of itand Greyson has to shield his eyes. The doorway showsGreysons school.

Greyson walks into the picture and the doorway shuts.

EXT. GYM - AFTERNOON

Greyson is laying on the ground, he has kids and a teachersurrounding him.

TEACHERYou okay son?

GREYSON(Sitting up)

oh, yeah, i just got a little lightheaded thats all.

TEACHERWell im going to send you to the

office.

GREYSONNo, really, im fine. I feel greatactually.

TEACHERAlright, but if you feel lightheaded again just go to the office

GREYSONYeah, sure.

Chase goes to help Greyson up to his feet, but greyson getsup on his own. Greyson dusts off the dirt from his clothing.They walk away to the locker room.

EXT. STREET - AFTERNOON

Greyson is walking with Chase and another girl. Emily (16)Black hair and moderately tall, she is dark from long hoursin the sun. They have frozen yoghurt in their hands.

EMILY

So, what happened with you today atschool? I mean, you seemed weirderthan normal.

GREYSONIt was nothing actually, firstperiod i had a bad dream that wokeme up with a start and during p.e.i just passed out.

Chase seems too interested in his yoghurt to care.

EMILY

Now this dream, have you had itbefore?

GREYSONI, i dont know.

CHASE

Yeah, i guess not.

EMILYThank god for you being in APclasses.

GREYSONI know right, and im the dumb onein normal classes.

Greyson bumps into Emily. Her eyes roll back in theirsockets and she colapses.

GREYSONEm! Em! are you okay?!

CHASEDude, shes not breathing!

GREYSONI can see that, call an ambulancenow!

Chase gets on his phone as Greyson in kneeling besides Emilyholding her hand.

Greyson looks at Emily, what he notices is that her shadowis gone. There are no trees or anything around to cover thesun. He then sees his shadow.

His shadow is finishing devouring Emilys shadow. Greysonseyes flare with anger.

A FEW MINUTES LATER

The paramedics have zipped up Emilys body in a black bagand are putting her in the back of their vehicle.

Greyson and Chase are sitting on the curb.

The Paramedics are starting to get into the vehicle when

Greyson bolts up next to them

GREYSON(With hope)

Did you find out what happened?

PARAMEDICNothing, we couldnt find any signsof disease or illness, she justseemed to have passed away.

GREYSONHow, how can someone be there onesecond and just gone the next.

PARAMEDICI...dont know.

Greyson backs away as the Paramedics drive away.

CHASEThere wasnt anything we could havedone man, dont beat yourself up.

GREYSONOur best friend just died and all

you can say is dont beat yourselfup. What kind of human are you.

CHASEAll im saying is it wasnt yourfault.

GREYSONHow do you know that?! How can youknow for sure?

CHASECause i was right there with you,

she just died man.

GREYSONNo one just dies, there is always areason, and im going to find outwhy Emily died.

CHASEHow, you heard the paramedics theysay there was nothing and she justcollapsed.

Greyson turns on Chase and walks alone on the road, hisshadow following.

INT. GREYSONS BEDROOM - NIGHT

Greyson is sitting at his desk with his homework in front ofhim. His name is written at the top, but thats it. Rightnext to his homework is a piece of paper with theories ofhow Emily died.

In his left hand he is playing with a knife. In his right he

holds a cross.

He looks back at the paper and writes, "if we share a mindcan i communicate to him through mine?"

GREYSON(To himself)

Well its worth a shot.

GREYSON V.O.

Hey, where the hell are you?!

Nothing, Greyson gives up. He takes the knife and cuts intohis handthe word MURDERER. He drops the knife and starts tocry.

Greyson gets up from his desk infuriated and heads back tohis bed. On the way there he trips on a cord. He falls rightnext to the desk andhis hand hits the top. The knife fallsdown and lands in his side.

He now lays on the ground with the knife sticking in hisside. He takes a huge gulp of air but he doesnt process it.He finally lets out a gasp and everything goes black.

EXT. SHADOW REALM - ANYTIME

Greyson wakes up. He is laying on the floor of the shadowrealm. He quickly grabs his side to find that the knife isnot there. He letsout a sigh of relief.

Greyson stands up and brushes the dirt off of his clothing.He looks around but does find his shadow.

He waits a few seconds. No reply

GREYSON

I KNOW IT WAS YOU WHO KILLED EMILY!

DAMIEN(From out of sight)

Haha, so naive. You cant handle thefact that you killed your bestfriend so you are pinning it on me.

GREYSONI didnt kill her, i only touchedher.

DAMIENBINGO! Lets just say that you havethe touch of death.

GREYSONWhy didnt you tell me this!

Damien turns into a black mass that swallows Greyson.Greyson yells.

Everything is still black.

MRS. WILDER(Offstage)

Greyson wake up, you have to leavefor school.

ANGLE ON - GREYSON IN BED

Greyson sits up, his eyes are open. We see the corneaswhited out.

GREYSON

Oh my god. MOM! MOM im blind!

MRS. WILDER(Offstage)

That isnt going to get you out ofgoing to school now get out here.

GREYSON

No mom, i really am blind!

MRS. WILDER(still offstage)

Im coming in there and I swear to

God, if you dont come out rightafter you are grounded.

Mrs. Wilder (46) Long black hair, somewhat short, and a nicemotherly face enters the room. She quickly walks over toGreyson. She looks inhis eyes and sees that he wasntlying.

GREYSONPlease dont touch me. I...Imreally sore.

MRS. WILDER

Oh my god, Greyson what happened?

The voice of Damien echoed in his head

DAMIEN V.O.Every time you do reenter theshadow realm you will lose a littlebit of yourself.

GREYSON(unnaturally calm)

MRS. WILDERWe are going to the hospital now.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - AFTERNOON

Greyson is laying on the hospital bed, his mother is at hisside.

The doctor (52) Grey hair, tall and a very commanding face

comes in.

Mrs. Greyson sits up in her chair

DOCTORSo, we have the results of ourexamination.

MRS. WILDER

Do you know whats wrong?

DOCTORWell thats just the case. Wecouldnt find any reason for yoursons apparent blindness.

MRS. WILDERIs there anything you can do?

DOCTORIm afraid there is nothing we cando.

MRS. WILDERMy son has to live in darkness forthe rest of his life.

DOCTORWell, it will take some gettingused to, but many blind people getto lead relatively normal lives.

MRS. WILDERThats real comforting doctor.

DOCTORIm sorry mam, there is justnothing we can do.

MRS. WILDERWell its been really appreciated.Come on Greyson take my hand we areleaving.

Greyson backs away from where he thinks his mothers hand is

They go to exit the hospital, on the way we hear

DAMIEN V.O.How are you going to protect peoplearound you if you cant see wherethey are.

Damien laughs a hissful laugh

Lights fade to black on the teen in a hospital hallway.


Greyson just lays in his bed. His eyes stare blankly intothe world. He is blasting "The End" by The Doors.

Time lapse we see the light outside his room getting darkerand Greyson tossing and turning in bed.


Greyson is asleep. There is a knock at his door. He turnshis heada little to the direction of the knock

MRS. WILDERGreyson, come on you have to comeout some time. Greyson. Greyson...

Cut to

Greyson turning away from the noise and covering his head.

Cut to

MRS. WILDER(To her husband)

Jim, we need to get him out ofthere.

There is a pause Mr. Wilder (49) is standing next to hiswife. He is a tall man, moderately thin, with partiallygreying hair.

MR. WILDER(Right outside the door)

Hey, Greyson bud. You dont have to

come out now. Tomorrow is Mondayand mom wants you to go to schoolcause you cant miss too many daysits your senior year. When you areup to it come out okay.

They both walk away from the door.


Greyson is sleeping in bed the whole room is dark, but some

light is given off by the game system on the ground.

A black dot appears on the wall no bigger than a quarter. Itproceeds to grow till out of it comes Damien. He floatsright over Greyson.

DAMIEN(In Greysons ear)

Go to school tomorrow, you want to.You want to, you want to kill. Killthose around you. Bring down theworld.

Greyson starts to move and Damien backs into the whole.

Greyson turns over with an evil smile on his mouth. His headjerks to the side and his face now shows worry. His bodyjerks and he wakes up breathing heavily.

Greyson looks around his room until he lays back down andfalls back to sleep.

INT. WILDER HOUSE - MORNING

Greyson walks around touching the walls to find the way tothe shower. He goes through his whole morning routine bytouch.

Greyson walks out of the house and stands by his motherscar.

Mrs. Wilder comes out of the house. and they both get intothe car.

Greyson is sitting against the door with his face pushed upagainst the window. His eyes stare blankly at the worldoutside.

They continue to drive as shadows are cast across Greysonsface

EXT. EXCELSIOR HIGH - MORNING

The Wilder car pulls up and Greyson gets out with his cane.

MRS. WILDERNow, if you need anything dont beafraid to ask the office or callme.

GREYSONI know mom, dont worry i got this.I could have walked this schoolblind folded.

The school bell goes off

MRS. WILDERYou better hurry, you dont want tobe late.

GREYSONIm, pretty sure that they will letthis one slide mom.

She smiles at him and backs out while he walks towards the

school.

He comes to his stop at his first class.


Mr. Holst turns to the door as Greyson walks in.

MR. HOLSTGreyson, you are late...again

GREYSON

I have a note this time Mr. Holst.I sorta went blind yesterday.

MR. HOLSTWhat?! Oh my god, Im terriblysorry, do you need someone to helpyou around school?

No! I mean, i want to do it on myown.

MR. HOLST

Well take your seat.

Greyson inches his way towards his desk slowly. As the allcall turns on. He sits.

MR. FAWKESAttention Excelsior High. As someof you may know one of our studentsEmily Kai passed away yesterday.She is believed to have passed ofnatural causes. The school wouldlike to take a minute of silencefor this young diligent lady whosdeath is a terrible incident forboth her family and all who knewher.

Greyson shifts uneasy in his seat while everyone has theirheads down.

MR. FAWKESThank you all, and remember to keepEmily in your hearts.

When the announcement is over, we see Jennifer (16) Longdark brown hair, wearing glasses, a beautiful face, and

Greysons crush for a long time lean over to talk to him.

JENNIFER(over Mr. Holst)

Greyson, what happened?

GREYSONI dont know i swear, i was justnext to her and one second she justdied!

JENNIFERNot about Emily, but about your

eyes.

GREYSON(a sigh of relief)

Oh, that. Haha trust me, youwouldnt believe me if i told you.

Greyson just sits at his desk with his hand on his head. Hefalls asleep again.

Greyson laying on his desk drooling.

The bell rings and he shoots up.

Greyson begins to get up.

Greysons eyes widen. He starts to move his hand closeruntil he realizes and draws back.

Jennifer starts to leave.

Greyson pulls his bag on his shoulder and leaves the classdefeated.

INT. EXCELSIOR HIGH - MORNING

Greyson is walking through the deserted halls with his caneif frontof him. He has his math book in his other hand.

ANGLE ON - THE HALLWAY CORNER

One of the underclassmen is down the hallway opposite ofGreyson. Greyson hears him walking, and Greyson stops deadin his tracks. His face is slowly tilting backwards with hiseyes clenched shut. His whole body starts to shake.

Greysons head shoots to the right, he starts breathingheavily till he breaths in a huge gulp.

Greyson stops shaking, he then smiles a vicious grin andlets outa murderous laugh.

He faces back to camera and we see his eyes are jet black.He runs to the corner and waits out of sight.

ANGLE ON - THE UNDERCLASSMAN

He is almost to the corner and we see him starting to roundit.

He turns and we see Greyson grab his neck. The studentseyes roll back and he becomes limp. Greyson is still holding

his neck.

Greyson smiles wide and shuts his eyes. He takes a breath.Once it is released both Greyson and the student fall to theground.

Greyson wakes up quickly and an assistant principal walksout of a nearby classroom. He notices the two students onthe ground.

ASST. PRINCIPALWhat is going on here?

He waits for an answer but neither Greyson nor the otherstudent answers.

ASST. PRINCIPAL CONTDI asked you what is going on here?Greyson? David?

ANGLE ON - Davids deceased body

it lays limp on the ground with its shadow gone and his eyesrolled back.

The assistant principal notices that something is wrong with

David and rushes to his side.

ASST. PRINCIPAL

He isnt breathing. Greyson tell mewhat happened here!

GREYSON(Panicking)

Sir i swear nothing happened. I waswalking to my next class and hejust fell down. I heard him hit theground so i came to help.

The principal checks Davids pulse and he pulls his hand tohis walkie talkie.

ASST. PRINCIPALWe have a kid with no pulse and whoisnt breathing in the 400 hallwayget an ambulance here now!

Greyson backs away from the spot while the principal ispreoccupied with Davids body. He gets up and tries to run asfast as he feels comfortable away from the spot.

He runs and finds his way to a wall and rests there while hegets outhis cell phone.

GREYSONCome on mom pick up. Pick up pickup.

We hear the phone connect.

MRS. WILDER(Through the phone)Hello?

GREYSONMom, its me, come get me now!

MRS. WILDERGreyson whats the matter?

GREYSONI dont want to talk about it justcome get me.

Greyson moves towards the front of the school passingthrough two archways that cover his body in shadow, we seehorns on the top of his head till he reaches sun light andthey disappear.


Greyson lays in his bed with his hands in front of his face

he is trying to see them.

He gives up after a few tries and folds his arms back overhis stomach.

GREYSONIf i had my sight i could avoideveryone. It would make this a loteasier. But, if Damien can possesme then whats the use.

Greysons eyes flash bright

GREYSON CONTDIf i strike a deal with him i justmight be able to get my visionback. I need a way to get to theshadow realm.

He looks at the knife, then he quickly looks away

GREYSON CONTDNo, i cant kill myself... Wait, hesaid i could freely go inbetweenthe realms, but how.

Greyson shuts his eyes we see him starting to sink into thebed. He opens his eyes and then the bed consumes him.

EXT. BLACKNESS - ANYTIME

Greyson is laying on the ground, in the same position hewas. He gets to his feet and turns his head to listen forany sound of Damien.

CAMERA PANS AROUND FROM GREYSONs POV

ANGLE ON - Greyson

Greyson moves his head a little and we see Damien behind him

DAMIENLook who decided to come back.

GREYSONDont play games with me Damien, imhere to make a deal.

DAMIENOh, this is interesting. Now whatcould you have that i would want.

GREYSONSomething is different, this placefeels different from last time.

DAMIENWhat is your point child.

GREYSONMy point is that you are losing

your power, that possession musthave taken a lot of your strength.

DAMIENYou noticed all that from the feelof the place, i guess theconnection isnt completelyworthless.
