Getting Started1. Describe a faithful friend of yours. How did the friendship begin? What makes this friend a faithful one?

2. When has this faithful friend helped you? Describe your experience of having this safe person help you during a time of need.

Digging Deeper1. Read Psalm 107:23-32. Think of a life-challenge as a life “storm.” Describe a recent life-storm of yours (i.e. many different challenges all happening at the same time)?

2. Read Psalm 107:25. Some storms are from God. Others are by-products of life in a fallen world. Describe a recent storm from either category (God/life). How did God show Himself in that storm?

3. Read Psalm 107: 6, 13, 19, and 28. This passage is repetitive with prayers. How do your prayers change in a storm? How does prayer help you in the storm?

Bringing it Home 1. Read James 1:3-4. What specific storm (i.e. disruption, calamity or hardship) has this crisis brought into your life (e.g. medical “hurricane,” relational “tornado,” financial “typhoon,” etc.)? How has God revealed something about you (e.g. character, behavior, thoughts, emotions, etc.) through this life-disruption?

2. Read Hebrews 13:5. What do you need to do (today/this week) in order to live in the truth that God is with you right now? How can you stay in the deep waters, hold on in faith and trust God during this storm? How might praising God (for what He is going to do IN you) be a good first step of faith?
